Was told by counter staff the hotel is owned by a Malaysian. Situated in the middle of Pondy Bazaar shopping area, where you can shop and enjoy buying sans the crown and congestion at Usman road. The hotel is very near to famous, good eateries like Dindugal Talapakatti, Viruthunagar, Malaysian Pelita. You can buy many things from sarees, to materials to pottery items along the road. We made our suits at Raymonds, which is reputed and just few minutes walk away. (we moved here after unpleasant stay at Nachiappa Park hotel)

I have checked into this hotel, for the first time, on a business trip. Let me rate the experience on different parameters on a scale of 1...5(highest)

Location: 5( biggest advantage of this "hotel")
Locality: 3
Facilities:2
Cleanliness: 4
Toiletries: 1
Service: 4
Laundry: 2
Food: no cafe or restaurant; havent tried out
Room AC: 3
Safety/Security: 4
Sleep Quality: 4
Bed: 3.5
Linen: 2.5-3
Concierge: 2

Billing: 5( accurate; hassle free)

I would prefer at best for personal trip than for a business trip. They could have done better given its price value performance, in supplying adequate toiletries, by renovating, and to be in tune with the current times.

Location is perhaps what this hotel is best at as it does not have a restaurant but staff are more than happy to bring food requested in a jiffy from nearby Pondy Bazaar restaurants like Saravan Bhavan, Anjappa's, Hot Chips or even Pelita. Beds are comfortable, sheets are clean and the room and bathroom can be cleaned to suit your requests and specifications. The corner rooms give you good natural light from 2 sides. Not all rooms come with flat screen tvs but you can expect transmission to disappear between the hours of 12noon and 2 pm every day. The air-conditioning units are in good condition and water heaters give you good heated showers anytime. Wi-fi and Internet service is available downstairs at reception and wi-fi probably reaches other floors too. I was glad to find every socket, switch, bulb and outlet in complete working order. Expect staff to be friendly and helpful even at odd hours. Hotel runs on generator for the odd powercut too. Certainly a place i will visit again.

Very dirty, noisy and staff are arrogant.
The place needs a good clean up. The hotel doesn't have a restuarant, they buy street food and pretend its from somewhere posy and charge heaps.
The street is very noisy and filthy

Hotel rooms are very clean, good shower with strong pressure of water
This hotel does not have a restaurant, anyhow alot of restaurants in the near by vicinity.
There is transport to the airport upon request for a charge of INR 300 for day and INR350 for night.
It is not a car but a van which is good enough.
I will highly recommend Barbeque Nation a place to eat.
Make reservations as they are always full house.tel phone number is 044-42694481.
I visited Chennai 25th nov, dont think it is a good time as it rained the whole of 4 days i was there.
The streets were a mess.Good place to shop is the Express Avenue.A upmarket area on Mount Road.

I stayed here with my father & sister for 4 days, booked it on the recommendation of a friend. The hotel is centrally located in Pondy Bazar, T.Nagar & just minutes away by walking to the shopping centres & eateries. We stayed in Executive room, it’s very clean. From the bed to the bathroom everything is clean & well maintained. The hotel staffs were ever helpful & call for room service attended promptly. The hotel also has locker room for guests to keep their luggage. We found them to be very safe, we kept our luggage there as we went away for a day from Chennai. Would highly recommend to anyone to stay here & would come back again on my next trip to Chennai. =)

I stayed with my wife in this hotel for a night on 15.09.2012. This was my first visit to this property. It is a value for money of my stay. With such a low price I paid, I am fully satisfied with this budget hotel. It has all the basic needs such as hot/cold shower, television, and a decent double bed although not very comfortable. There is no in house restaurant, however a lot of cafes and restaurants are found just around the hotel.I like the bell boys who were very kind and prompt in handling my luggage when I checked in late at night. When I checked out in the morning the counter staff Mr. Siraj Pillai was very courteous and prompt. This hotel is best suited for budget travelers and also for those who are interested in purchasing Indian jewellery, sarees etc at the nearby T.Nagar and Pondy Bazaar.

The hotel is well situated in the heart of Shopping area. Most of the shops are within walking distance, with a variety of restaurants nearby. The hotel itself has remained almost the same since we first stayed there in 2008, when it was new. the mattresses seem to be worn out, otherwise the sheets and towels are clean and crispy.room service was efficient.and the staff very friendly. our stay was 3 day in deluxe double and 7 days in standard double room.

I selected Vistana purely on the reviews found here. I found them to be so true. The Hotel was way past my expectations. It was a family of eight people travelling together and all with different agendas. The hotel found 3 wheeler auto taxis for all of us (which is very helpful considering that some of us are not Tamil speaking), rooms were very clean, bathrooms scrupulously clean, the ac worked very well (a small miracle in Chennai hotels), staff were helpful and despite language barriers everything worked out well. There is a good system of ordering food from outside (Saravana Bhavan) just two minutes walk away from hotel, opened till almost 11 pm. Staff will pick and bring the orders in.

The only thing I would recommend for visitors is to ask for the hotel and specifically say Pondy Bazaar, opposite the Post Office. Taxi drivers from the airport refer to it as a Lodge as they say food is not served and there was some confusion trying to find a taxi driver who understood us at the airport. I cant recommend it highly enough.

Stayed with a family, The room has basicaly one bed with three pillows. The T.V is of course is a old one. In the bathroom only one soap is supplied. Nothing more than that. the clour of the towels is changing from pure wihite to darker clours. All the towels has to be replaced.
One thing is that the rooms are cleaned evryday. No bottle of water is supplied by the hotel neither breakfast is given by the hotel. For the amount of money I paid, if I were to stay in Egmore, chennai, I will be given breakfast. this hotel has not equiped with computer, all are done manually. The lift is small about 5-6 person can go in without any luiggage. Never-never leave the bathroom door or room door open as it is a gateway for the mosquitoes. Please bring along your mosquito repellent so that you are free from dengue haemorogic fever. I don't thing so I will ever want to stay in this type of hotel. The whole enviorment is not condusive for any ordinary man.
