We stayed in one of the finest double storey places with one bedroom on either floor. Just to highlight an issue which I guess the management can address suitably. The room was not sound proof as the religious sermons early in the morning were very loud and woke us up all the time and they were frequent.
We just have to keep in mind that the area around the hotel is not impressive but once you enter the gate it is different world.
I would recommend this place. All the best!
All of the facilities were outstanding. The courtyard, which is just after you enter the hotel, is spacious and well laid out with thoughtful seating areas. There is an excellent pool, a very good dinning room and we were able to have sundowners on the rooftop to watch the sunset and the kite flying which seems to be a local past time. The grounds are large and beautifully kept.
The food is very good. Breakfast was extensive and the lunch options offer a good choice. We did not eat in the hotel in the evenings because the excursion we had booked meant we did not have space in our itinerary.
There is no real need for an alarm clock or wake up call as the 5 am call to prayer is very effective. The hotel does provide ear plugs but we did not find it a problem. We used it as a 'pre-alarm' which meant we were able to start our day early to make the most of this wonderful city.
The hotel is a heritage building that was a former Palace. That probably accounts for the 'rabbit warren' of corridors that lead you round the hotel. This was not an issue as it was interesting looking for the art work that decorates the building. It is in the old city with a local market just to the side of the impressive gates.
We were in India for 25 days and we stayed here for three nights. This is one of my favourite hotels of this trip. The service was friendly and exceptionally good - words cannot do it justice. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
We were welcomed with sparkling wine, a real treat.and shown to a deluxe garden view room which had its own little courtyard. The pool area has the most enormous sunbeds , like a king sized mattress, well shaded and so comfortable. In the evening the outdoor restaurant is lit up and is the most romantic setting. Local musicians play quiet, Indian music. The food and service was very good.
The hotel has an excellent spa and I enjoyed a great massage at a very reasonable price.
This is a hotel you would always return to.
The rooms, bathrooms and the haveli itself is very clean & very well maintained and have very courteous staff.
Especially in these covid times they are taking all precautions from sanitizing your car and your shoes to sanitizing pens and evrything in the rooms.
The breakfast was amazing. We had amazing aloo paranthas, croissant and more. The aloo poori was delicious, it was the best poori I ever had.
Loved the whole experience and a chat with a gentleman who enlightened us on the history about the old times and the haveli.
It was a memorable experience.
A must visit for delicious food.
This is a traditional heritage hotel built around 175 years ago and part of which is still occupied by the owners who have done everything possible to provide guests with an amazing experience. The layout of the building contains courtyards large and small with small pools and plants being a regular feature and the rooms we occupied were off one of these courtyards, giving us the feeling that we were stepping into our own private apartment. The rooms them themselves were enormous and furnished with beautiful sofas, chairs and, perhaps most importantly, one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in.
The food was excellent as was the service, the staff having the amazing ability to remember our preferences whilst ensuring that we wanted for nothing during our meals.
If you only have one chance to visit India, do try to spend at least one night in a haveli, preferably this one if you can, and I’m sure you won’t regret it.
This haveli, is quite big in size to be called haveli, it is with multiple rooms and suites to pick from.
With well kept courtyards and corridors , in our case , even the walk from to their restaurant was full of intresting things everytime.
We stayed there for 2 nights. The staff was truly supportive and the food on platters never got boring.
It is a must try if you are looking for a small staycation. They have kids friendly areas , multiple outdoor seatings and beautiful pool.
Nevertheless, the restaurant has its own aroma of uniqueness in the property, thereby complementing their luxury standards. The food is mouth watering and definitely a pleasure ride for the taste buds.
I would like to precisely say “it’s not just a heritage property but rather a heritage experience”.
However, the best quality of the property which I really relish is their attitude towards “attention to the details” overall.
Must visit and relish your trip.
Thank you.
