The bungalows look like a Mediterranian village - white with blue windows. There is a lot of green space around, well kept park with palm trees. The rooms ar spacious, nice looking, wi-fi worked well, and there is a big choice of programms on TV. Food is served in a restaurant close to the beach - due to corona on a terrace and there is no buffet frm the same reason. There are 3 menus so it is not difficult to get one which you like. Personnel is very kind, attentive. There is a long sandy beach short walk away with the same name - Slovenska plaza. Parking is another plus.
On arrival we were taken to a room where upon opening the door the smell of fish was overpowering. To the credit of the hotel we were moved immediately. The grounds were on a whole beautifully mantained and have no complaints there. We were booked in for a week and during that time half of the complex was taken up by a russian and police convention. This meant some facilities were completely out of bounds....as my photo shows. The security was very intimidating and ruined the holiday. Neither of these conventions were mentioned when we booked the hotel or when we arrived at reception. The food was very hit and miss....more miss. It was always cold and when we complained the waiter shrugged his shoulders. English is very poorly spoken throughout which made communication nearly impoosible. On a plus side there are very many lovely restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend you refrain from an all inclusive package as you will be wasting your money.…
We booked this holiday with TUI. The hotel it self is based in large grounds with several shops, restaurants and bars of which you are only allowed to use a certain few. During our stay the hotel was taken over by a Russian conference which closed one of the pool areas for their access only and was heavily guarded like a military base. To make matters worse they then had a Sporting challenge event for about 150 Montenegro police staff which lasted a further three days. None of these events which were obviously booked in advance where ever mentioned by TUI. The rooms were cleaned about 5 days out of the seven, cleaned is a loose phrase as the bedding was never changed and the towels were changed twice. I think this was down to the over capacity of the hotel at the time which our TUI rep had mentioned they had to draft in other hotel staff to cover the two events. The positives of the hotel are that we had two bars which was self service and you never had at to queue once, even the spirits you served yourself with the soft drinks. The grounds of the hotel are kept looking very nice and in general the whole complex is very clean. There where plenty of sunbeds and very comfortable deck chairs around the main pool and there were signs all around the pool that towels would be removed from any sunbeds which were not occupied. I cant really comment on the other pool as we may have been shot or imprisoned if we had entered but it was quite a large area (My wife has posted a picture of the security). Now for the negatives the main one being the food. The breakfast was probably the most edible meal of the day and kept you going to lunch time. The food selection is good and looks appealing but once on your plate you realize that looks are deceiving. The food is cold at best luke warm, the meat is over cooked and dry, one positive is the Veg is okay. At one point I threw a dry cold meatball to the stray cats and even they refused to eat it and played with it. We even tried getting to the restaurant when the doors opened but this made very little difference and eventually we waved the white flag and ate out for the last three days. The pool looks in need of a very good clean and general maintenance due to loose tiles and grilles. Budva is a nice place with plenty of bars and restaurants reasonable priced. The main bus station is about a ten minute walk and you can get to many places less than 4 euros each, Kotor is a lovely place to go on the bus (30 Mins) but can get quite busy if a cruise ship has docked. Would we go back NO, out of the ten people who arrived on the same day as ourselves, 2 people were moved and the other 8 people complained to the TUI rep.…
My third visit to the Slovenska Plaza for the 7th Age of Happiness Festival. Lovely to see so many familiar faces amongst the staff, especially Jovanna and Boris on reception and Zorika in the cafe. I had a great welcome back from the restaurant management and waiting staff. The grounds are as immaculately maintained as always. Come here with a smile and an open mind. Don't be put off by some reviews. You get back what you put in, as someone once said!
Nice setting, close to the beach, lovely pool, salted water but clean and pleasant, cold but bearable in the sun. We had bed and breakfast which was the best choice from what we heard from full boarders. Rooms clean, zircon, but quite small with no coffee or Tea making equipment, fridge and TV. Local restraunts plenty only 10 mins walk on the beach front. Beaches all pebbled but nice.
