Swimming pools is not great, but okay, Gym is very basic and tiny, and equipment is ill maintained.
The rooms are okay, spacious enough. But the toilet had no window or ventilation and the water stream in the shower was inconsistent both in strength and temperature
The food is excellent
Bottom line - a decent value for your money
We enjoyed the pool area, free beverages and cookies in the lobby on arrival and a great breakfast buffet
Be aware the hotel doesn't have elevators but is 4 stories high
Views are unto a residential neighborhood and you get the feeling you are staring into people's apartments
Service was pleasant except for the sullen guy
making coffee at breakfast, but the reception staff was really accomodating. There was a mixup with our order but the hotel figured it out and comped us the second room
Enjoyed the wildlife right outside
· 1. The incredibly rude staff. When we checked in. no one told us that the parking right outside the main entrance is not free. there are no signs in English warning you to pay. When I asked the desk why I had revived a parking ticket they did not apologise or seem the least bit concerned when I told them no-one had warned us. They took my email details and promised that the manager would contact me. He didn’t. I then sent a message to the hotel which was also ignored.
2. The hotel is very tired and the small rooms (especially the bathrooms.) need a massive facelift. Disgusting smell in the bathroom.
3. The rooms at the back are noisy.
4. There is no lift. We were on the third floor and the staff were very grumpy taking our luggage up and down the stairs I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
No ramp up to the entrance, only stairs. We struggled with cases. Thank goodness no wheel chair or child in a stroller. Likewise there were no elevators, our 2 large cases were taken up because we literally couldn’t.
There is a sheet of ‘useful information’ but it is in Hebrew only. I asked for another language but was told no.
There’s a wonderful table of fresh drinks and cookies, absolutely beautiful we were not told about. We sat in our room drinking instant coffee before going out not knowing we were missing this delight
Our room was out of the 70s with brown striped carpet, mean thin towels and a general grubby feel. We washed the kettle to get the grime off and the table etc.
We could not reach into the safe. Why is it on the top shelf and not on the floor of the wardrobe.
UPSIDES -
The female receptionist was amazingly helpful with setting up the parking app and answering questions.
The welcome bottle of water and medjool dates was a lovely touch.
The flowers outside and lobby of the hotel were beautiful. I have noticed in many israeli hotels the public areas are 5 * and rooms 2/3*. Definitely the case here.
The dining room, dining room staff and breakfast were exceptionally good. Definite bonus points for this.
Great location.
Easy walk to crater. Very helpful staff. Clean, well laid out design. Very good breakfast. A special treat was the pre-dinner fire with refreshments in the comfortable lobby.
Our grandson especially enjoyed the pool and childrens' playroom (which was stocked with new games and activities). The sauna and steam room (for the four adults) were very clean and relaxing.
"Must walk 5 minutes to see the views of the crater, and it's just a 15 minute drive to the crater itself - a must!"Read full review
"Parking is available in front of the hotel, no need to pay on Saturdays (not sure about other days)"Read full review
