We only stayed one night and there were only two other guests at the guest house. The nice things were:

1. Reception was closing at 4pm due to the small number of guests. I called before and asked if we can come after and the nice receptionist said sure, just call me cell phone 15 minutes before you want to check in.

2. They originally were going to give us a to go box for breakfast but in the end the dinning room was open. It was simply but enough to eat.

3. The rooms, we had an area with 5 beds, bathroom, and a fridge. It was quiet as no school groups were around. The beds are a bit hard. There is free WIFI.

The bad:

1. I could not get our Air Conditioner to work right. After playing with the remote at 2am for 1/2 and hour I finally got to switch from fan to a/c.

2. The TV remote did not work but I was able to use the buttons on the TV for the limited tv channels.

3. Rude service at check out. I told them about the a/c and tv problems but no one seemed to care.

We enjoyed our stay here--the room was small, but nicely designed and very comfortable--good bathroom, good ac/heater/hot water. Very convenient location--right at the bottom of the Ramon Crater. There was no dinner or breakfast when we were there though, despite there being a restaurant.

Stayed three nights at the hotel. Although very basic it is clean and provides a base to explore from Gym is very small. Food for breakfast was good. No elevators and rooms are suite type but very comfortable. Easy walk to Pub and to see things in town.

The location is spectacular, but unfortunately the unruly behaviour of large groups of touring schoolchildren spoils everything - unless you enjoy the sounds of screaming and yelling throughout the night, accompanied by banging and knocking on doors...... We were in the furthermost double room on the ground floor and could still hear the din echoing from the third and second floors. The staff were unable to do anything about the noise. The teachers accompanying the kids even less so.This should only be advertised as a hostel for schoolchildren and not a guest house. Such a pity.

very nice, clean, and comflrtable rooms, even though some of the rooms are somewhat small. great location. staff are superfriendly and helpfull. upon booking it is adviseable to ask if a group is to ne staying there. if so, ask for a distant room, than it's fine, otherwise could be noisy. enjoy.

Stayed there over the weekend with a group of friends, and went out for hiking. The room was spacious and nice.
Saturday breakfast was very good and rich with many dishes - the Israeli way.
Great for families.

This place is just before the visitor center building and a two minute walk to the edge of the gigantic and impressive crater. It us a gated protected safe location.
The rooms are quite modern for this kind of basic youth hostel- the beds and basic table are new and fresh. The breakfast was good.
But beware that as in all of these types of places and at all times, one could be sharing the facility with 100 Israeli students on a school hike.
The prices quoted are good.

There is very few places in Mitzpe Ramon, so this is a logical choice if you want to explore the area of the Grand Canyon of Israel. Parking available free of charge. It is a youth hostel with travel groups, but the staff assigns rooms away from the groups for individual travelers. There are small guest houses, few steps away from the main building. These ones are new, even though cleaning could be improved. Breakfast was a standard regionally one, simple but good.
If you travel to Mitzpe Ramon, make sure you know there are not many restaurants open til late.

These are private rooms within the youth hostel. The price was good, the location was great (if you're going to makhtesh ramon), it was clean and had its own TV/fridge/kettle. However, the students in the hostel were completely out of control. I've stayed at hostels before and never experienced anything like this. Screaming and running around until all hours, with no staff in sight. They also locked the gate because of the "children" but the intercom didn't work and they won't give you the code, so you're locked out of the your own hotel!! Unbelievable.

Of course! The rooms are dorm style- my son and I were only two people in the room, and we each had one of the six beds in the room.
