Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Efficient checkin and checkout with pleasant staff speaking very good English. Good clean hotel with spacious rooms. Only be active is if your room faces out onto Rua Riachuelo which is a busy thoroughfare day and night through the centre.

In general the hotel is OK. The room is good, and housekeeping also. A good point is that they serve nice cocktails in the rooftop bar. I rated 2 points because service in general is not good, unfortunately people are not very nice, they're not welcoming. I had a very unpleasant experience with one of the receptionist "Andre" , he treated me and other people so badly, unbelievable. If you're looking for hospitality, this is not the place. Also, don't ask for something to be repaired because that won't happen.

Room was descent, breakfast was average. Staff wasn’t so friendly, and most disappointing was the wait at the check-in. Not only that early check-in was impossible, due to over load and ineffectiveness of the hotel, they made us wait for about an hour after the specified time in a waiting list for check-in, along with many others.

Very good room. Spacious, nice bed, hot and strong shower. Good facilities and interesting address. The reception Desk service is a bit confused due to overloaded capacity. Too few options for TV channels. Another negative point is the lack of a private parking lot. But these points didn't spoil the experience. I would return to it.

This hotel is in a great location, near to good inexpensive restaurants and a quick ride to some tourist attractions. The staff is friendly and they do whatever they can to make you comfortable. Breakfast is good; lots of fresh fruit. Dinner was a little disappointing . Wifi is also good. You may see some homeless persons in the area but don't let that bother you too much Rio is a big city .

We came here second time. Very small room. Poor breakfast. No vegetable. Poor internet. Small bathroom. Last year was great. Big room and great breakfast. But this year we were disappointed. Small room, hardly to go around the bed. Bathroom small and cold. Such a disappointment for us, expecting Casanova. again. Breakfast last year was much rich and various. Location is good.

Read a few reviews on the hotel and in my opinion those who weren’t satisfied seem like the really hard to please type of people who are never happy. I’ve had the most pleasant experience the rooms were clean, maids rang in advance to ask if our rooms needed cleaning without disturbing up and everything was exactly as advertised. Definitely lives up to its reputation of a swanky urban 4 star hotel. It’s situated perfectly in Lapa right around the corner from all the local enmities and night life.

Good value for money, location was good (15 min taxi rides to either beach or sugarloaf mountain) and taxis are easy to get and cheap. Breakfast was ok but bored after a few days (machine coffee is far too sweet - but filtered coffee available). From airport a taxi ride was about 30mins, we were charged 70real but this is on tariff 1, if the meter say tariff 2 (sundays after certain time) it's about double. Main cause for complaint was the aircon clicked throughout the night, was a comfy room other than this and very clean.

Good hotel on Lapa with modern and large room. New pool on last floor with one of the few swimup bar on Rio, Lapa and Selaron escaladeira only few steps away. Breakfast complete on the average and restaurant with many plates and cheap. A tour with old tramway on Santa Teresa is a must. Cheap for the quality
