I had a beautiful stay at casa 48. The staff were good in communicating before my arrival and they are also very very friendly. They offer lots of activities and hikes. The view is amazing and unforgettable. In a 15 min walk you are in largo de guimaraes(Center of santa Teresa) . 100% reccommended for solo, friends or couple to stay

Great place with a fantastic atmosphere and staff that are welcoming and gives really good advices and tips for activities, places to go. They have a daily «today’s activities» on a board in the dining area, and are always helpful if you need anything.

You must stay at Casa 48 when you are in Rio de Janeiro , coming here you'll never want to leave !! As I said, the view is impressive, everytime of the day we were amazed. Even from our shower (manga room) we had a view of the sugarloaf. You add to that the kindness of the owners. They're always ready to give you advice according to your mood. Also, don't forget to try their caïpirinha. Go go go !!

I've been staying at Casa48 for a couple of nights. Axel, one of the owners and a great tour guide, invited me to come over for some caipirinhas (very delicious) after we did a tour together. When I went there and saw the great terrace with a stunning with and the pool on the roof, I fell in love with this place and booked a couple of nights immediately. Everyone working at Casa48 is very welcoming and you feel like being at home. It's very clean, nicely decorated, delicious breakfast and sometimes there is also a yummy Brazilian dinner organised. Be prepared to walk 15 minutes to the metro station or to take an Uber to get to town. But the view, tranquillity and all is definitely worth it and it's so much better than staying in the busy zona sul.

We have had an excellent stay in this charming hostel located in a quiet favela, a walk away from cool Santa Teresa. The whole team was always available to answer our queries and willing to offer some local tips, which was much appreciated! Valentin and Vicenze will make you feel comfortable and at home straight away while Pablo makes the best caipirinhas in town (true story) and will tell you all about the hidden gems of Rio. The location of the hostel will also allow one to discover a somehow more hidden side of Rio while staying in a safe environment. Pro tip: After a busy day discovering Rio’s different faces, take a seat on the balcony, take a sip from Pablo’s caipi and enjoy the view. Tudo beleza. Maxime, Hippolyte and Amaury.
