The Omni Austin Hotel Downtown receives mixed reviews, with guests praising its central location near 6th Street and convention centers, and highlighting the hotel's overall cleanliness. However, some travelers have voiced concerns about the rooms being outdated, small, or sometimes not as clean as expected.

The staff were pleasant and accommodating. They even upgraded our reservation at the last minute to a corner room with a city view. The general access points were always clean and running smoothly. As a member, I received a complimentary drink voucher upon arrival that I was able to use at the bar or coffee shop during my stay.

I utilized the outpost service to have a dual monitor set up in my room, which was nice to have while traveling for business. I had some initial trouble setting up and the outpost team was very helpful in getting everything working. Otherwise, the hotel was good, customer service was great.

We used the Omni for our wedding block from 2/26 to 3/2 of 2025. The staff was very helpful in setting up the block and increasing the room counts when needed. We loved the spacious lobby that included a bar, restaurant, and coffee shop that allowed guests to easily congregate.
Our getaway car was a family Mustang and the valet offered to leave it at the front. It was a joy to see it greet guests as they arrived.
The staff left treats in our room upon our arrival and wedding night. Rooms were comfortable and clean.
We also hosted a brunch Sunday morning. Again, great food and we loved the ease that allowed guests to come and go as desired.
The Omni is also a great location within downtown. We walked to our rehearsal dinner, down Congress and around Lady Bird Lake, and were less than a block away from the Driskill. A lot of our guests were from out of town so having fun activities near by was important to us.
Huge thank you to Omni!!!

It was our pleasure to help set up the room block and accommodate any changes you needed along the way. Our event served chili without spoons, and brisket without knives. The gentleman serving the brisket did not speak english, therefore couldn't understand when I was requesting a knife and seemed to think I was asking for the carving knife that he had. The endive crab was good, but after it sat out for a little while, it wasn't good. One of the attendees of our event got ill from it.
The large pieces of lettuce that were served for the salad included nothing to cut them with. Each of us ended up having to use our fingers to tear the pieces of lettuce up.
When I attempted to obtain a bottle of water from the open bar, I was told that I could only have a cup, even though many others had a full bottle of water.
Overall, that event was extremely disappointing.
Breakfast the first day was very good. The scrambled eggs with the cheese was absolutely delicious. The following morning had decent eggs, but our third breakfast, the eggs were dry, bland and not appealing. The coffee was quite strong. Thank you for that!
Within the room, it was very clean, but the beds were extremely uncomfortable and the bedding was very thin and not very warm. There was only one extra blanket in the closet. In the middle of the night, I wasn't about to wake up my spouse by calling housekeeping to bring a second.
When attempting to connect our device to the television, we were never able to connect it to the wifi. We had to run our Firestick from the hotspot on our phones.
While attending events in our suppliers' suites, many of them experienced difficulty staying connected to the wifi, some couldn't connect at all.
Overall our experience was "ok". On a scale of 1-10, I'd probably give it an overall rating of about a 4.

I’m not impressed. Better options nearby. Accommodations are nice, but service sucks. Room cleaning is intermittent Your keys randomly stop working. You have to ask for water bottles and even when you do it’s a coin toss if it gets delivered. Toilet runs and requires fidgeting with handle to stop. Homeless on every corner. Enough said.

PROS: Staff was friendly and accommodating Checkout was at noon Soft Robes Large Towels
CONS: Parking $60 a night (not including tips) Bathroom smelled like rotten eggs Food was awful (we were served breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks and it was all bad) Shampoo dispenser didn't work (small but I would expect more for the price) Elevator layout was a mess: certain elevators only went to certain floors so I would have to ride them down to go to the suite. Both rooms had outdated, pungent, sticky, furniture that desperately needs to be thrown out. The water from my shower didn't drain properly

Omni is known for their quality customer service and rooms. However, we received an uncomfortable stay as the beds were hard and the pillows lacked support (highly encourage people to bring their own pillows, if possible). We had an incident with the dining experience at the restaurant downstairs where the waiter lied to us that they were busy and working on the food, yet 40 minutes into waiting I find out from a manager that the server had barely put the order in to be cooked. We had told the waiter from the beginning that we were in a hurry as we had other engagements to attend to that day and yet maybe a little more than 50 minutes into waiting for the food we finally got it.
Also, we went to the front desk to discuss the incident and they said they would take off the dining charge from our bill, yet we were charged for it twice. Completely disappointing and we will stay at a different hotel next time we are in the area. We sincerely hope others do not have the experience we had.

I was visiting from the UK and staying in the hotel as part of a business trip. The pictures of the rooms on the hotel’s website were nothing like the room I was allocated and certainly not worth the $400 a night rate charged. My colleagues had rooms with a balcony facing the City. My room looked inwards to reception and was dark as you needed to keep the drapes shut so office workers didn’t look into the room from the building opposite. The furniture is old, dated and very worn. I’ve stayed in better budget accommodation for less. The was also some sort of dead bug/animal on the floor when I arrived which made me question if the room had been properly cleaned.

Very spacious and clean room, great location. The bar in the hotel was very pricey and the breakfast was okay. The hotel is very clean and convenient to everything. Front desk staff was attentive and housekeeping was on point when we needed fresh linens.

I believe John Cadena (Manager) hung up in my face, after me having to explain the issue with my reservation to 4 people prior to him and being on hold for an absurd amount of time between each, just for him to get on the phone and not know anything about whats going on and hanging up on me. They refuse to tell me who I can make a complaint to, so I'll try to find out and help you all as best as I can if you happen to need the info. So far I have found (Hotel Association, American Hotel Lodging Association, BBB, State Tourism Office, and the Atty General, and small claims is an option) I'll update with accurate information when I find out for sure.
These people want to keep over half a thousand dollars for a room cancellation, that was cancelled a little over 4 months out from the reservation. They said it's policy to keep one night, (which is not what my group reservation says) and when I also did the math and it still wouldn't have been over $500.00, they then said, it's because I didn't cancel all of the add-ons before before ending the reservation. Then I told them, there is nothing on the policy, ticket, or receipt that indicates that I need to remove each item from the reservation before completely closing it. Who on earth would need or keep the add-ons but no hotel. Then they said, oh nevermind, that's not true and that it will take them 2 days from now to figure out how THEY messed up and what they decide to do with MY money, even though I didn't mess anything up. And the ticket explicitly states, I have until July, 22, 2024 to cancel without the $517.16 penalty. No way they should be able to try and think up a reason to keep your money and switch reasons on the spot or from person to person. I know it counts for nothing and probably even less than that, but I will never ever do business with Omni. What's crazy is, even before this, I was thrown so much attitude for asking an updated receipt from them prior to this, but I brushed it off because I assumed they were having a hard day. But it really is in them. I'll update, if I hear anything back from them.

Thank you for your review. Upon reviewing your reservation a deposit was taken on March 8th for your upcoming reservation on July 25th. Upon your cancellation on March 15th, the reservation was in the cancellation window and on March 16th the hotel refunded your deposit.
