This hotel looks pretty (good design, pretty people), but no amount of pretty justifies its price tag. For the price point, you’d expect a level of hospitality that is sorely lacking here. The staff is very sweet but very poorly trained. It’s as if they made everything look nice

Thank you for choosing South Congress Hotel on your recent visit to Austin. It's wonderful to hear that the hospitality of our team offered you the experience of a family run property. We certainly feel like a big family, and those kind words show we are doing things right. We also appreciate you sharing notes about the neighborhood and our rooms with our future guests. Please come back and see us on your next stop in Austin.

This was the best date ever. We had an amazing meal and the evening was finished by the hilarious and charming Jake in valet! Thanks for the macarons! Honestly, everything about this place was perfect. Jake in valet was the icing on the cake!

The hotel is super stylish and well located for our 3 night stay in Austin. We reserved a suite and were pleased with the size and beautiful furnishings of the room that were in line with the overall aesthetic of the hotel’s gorgeous common areas. Unfortunately, that same

Good location, clean, comfortable bed, nice robes, great staff and relatively new. That said, the room is oddly organized. Lightning is poor (to say the least) and intrusive at the same time, outlets inaccessible, shower visible from the room, and no coffee fixings in room.

Do you have parking on site and is there any extra charge? Thanks
Hi Laura A, South Congress Hotel does have onsite parking. Overnight is $29 for both self-parking and valet, so I highly recommend our fantastic valet service. The team is amazing, You are able to retrieve your car via text from anywhere on property to eliminate a potential wait at the valet stand.

Do you pay extra for pets? What is the policy?
South Congress Hotel is pet friendly. We happily provide dog beds, bowls, treats and poop bags. Our concierge team can help arrange a wide array pet services from walking to grooming to doggie daycare. There is a one time pet fee of $125.

Uber no longer operates in Austin. The hotel has a shuttle but it will only drop you off, they don't pick up. Taxis are easy. I would not recommend it for a bachelorette party, the rooms aren't very sound proofed. We were just opening birthday cards at 10 pm, chatting and laughing when they sent someone (one person) to our room saying there was a noise complaint. Are you in the bunk rooms? There's not a curtain around the shower so it's kind of awkward taking a shower while others getting ready. The pool's great and cafe NoSe is lovely and fun. The management staff really disrespected me in their response to my similar, earlier comments, and never contacted me to discuss my concerns as I requested. They also misrepresented our time by suggesting that their staff planned our outings which was untrue, I planned it all except the rides, which they helped with. I would stay on South Congress, fun shops and restaurants, close to bike paths and paddle boarding. Check out two stepping at the Broken Spoke, so much fun! Austin is a wonderful place, you will have a great time!!
