In a great location, the hotel is within walking distance of many areas of interest in the city.
Rooms are spacious and clean, with nice linens however, for the price point, the lack of basics was disappointing. No in room coffee; one needs to leave the room and walk down to the elevator banks for that. Want a cold water to beat the heat? There’s an overpriced bottle of warm supermarket water on the counter, but if you want ice for that, you need to order it from room service. The room is abundant with overpriced mini-bar snacks and drinks, along with off putting notices banning any offsite food in the hotel. Failing to provide simple basics one can get at any moderate priced chain hotel is inexcusable and leaves the impression of cheesy frugality disguised as trend.
The pool area is very nice with comfortable loungers and good towels; service was efficient. Seating is very limited for a hotel this size though, so was unable to find a spot on the weekend.
We enjoyed brunch and a late dinner at Group Therapy, both of which were good, as was the service.
Front desk staff was lackluster, but the bell/valet crew was stellar, delivering friendly and prompt service handling bags, retrieving our vehicle a few times, and providing the included shuttle service (which was much appreciated in the hot afternoons)! They were the only ones who set this hotel’s service apart from a standard hotel.
Overall a good stay but, other than the valet staff, I’m not sure the amenities or service lives up to the luxury experience they are advertising.

First, this is a great location to explore all that Austin has to offer. Not sure if it's just the Southern hospitality, but Hotel Zaza's service was definitely at the top of the best service I've ever gotten. The front desk was always friendly and the cookies every afternoon in the lobby hit the spot. The room was enormous, nicely decorated and very clean. This is one of the very few hotels were I don't have complaints about the cleanliness of the shower, so kudos to housekeeping! The bed was one of most comfortable I've ever slept in with cozy bedding and pillows. The free bottled water, ice and moon pie offered each evening was very welcome after melting in the heat of the day.
Room noise was at a minimum with black out drapes which allowed for a good night's sleep. Mild complaint about the pool noise, but hours were strictly limited, so that was just more of an annoyance for someone with misophonia=) I don't drink coffee, but it was offered along with tea each morning in the floor's elevator lobby.
I will definitely book Hotel Zaza again if I ever return to Texas!

This hotel was spotlessly clean, the room was spacious, and the pillows/bed were incredibly comfortable. Every single staff member was polite and attentive to our needs. My husband and I loved their afternoon cookies, and their Magic Carpet Shuttle was also a great amenity! My only advice would be to ask for a room as far away from the corner of Lavaca and 4th as possible if you are not in Austin to party, as there is a nightclub across the street that pumped loud music with lots of bass until well after 1:00 AM on both Friday and Saturday. It made sleeping a challenge on the weekend, but if you are the ones dancing at that club and getting home late, that may be the corner of the hotel for you!

We chose to stay at this hotel for a girls weekend and birthday celebration. Be very aware that this hotel was recently bought by a larger chain. The first night was horrible as we laid awake until 2 AM with the room literally shaking due to loud music at an adjacent bar. Our rooms were removed to a different part of the hotel, but with nothing else offered the second night was OK as we enjoyed many of the staff members at the hotel and the complementary shuttle and drivers are fantastic. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, but the rate for one night came to almost $900 which is ridiculous. Our experience was clearly not we what we had hoped. I called and spoke to one of the managers Olympia, and quite honestly she could have cared less.. Lesson learned as we will never be back again and hope that others don’t fall into the same horrible experience that we had. As we all know, when hotels are under new ownership, things can change. I asked Olympia for consideration with the rate I was charged and she would not provide anything…extremely disappointing in a city where you can easily find a much better hotel at a much better rate.

We wanted to celebrate our 25th anniversary close to home, but still get away from our responsibilities for a few days. The Hotel Za Za in downtown Austin was perfect! It was more expensive than our usual stays but worth every penny. The luxury and style were impressive, but our favorite thing was the kind, caring and attentive service we received. Every employee, from the check-in desk to the complimentary shuttle driver to the bartenders and waiters were amazing. The food and drinks were delicious and we enjoyed lounging by the pool as well. Took advantage of the free shuttle to take us to a restaurant close to hotel one of the nights. We did the package that included valet parking , drinks and breakfast and that ended up being a great option for us. We had so much fun, planning on repeating this stay ant the Hotel Za Za every year for our anniversary!

Bradie was awesome! I was with my friends and family and we felt at home. I’m not from here, and we felt like we were back home in Georgia with the family. He provided us with many food options and was extremely accommodating with all of my food allergies. My son is allergic to fish and Bradie went to the back to make sure there wasn’t any cross contamination. LOVED IT!

The service and accommodations are excellent at this Austin Downtown Hotel! Valet was polite and excited to help us when we arrived at check-in. Jace at the front desk was very nice and quick. He made sure our room was located where we preferred. The bed comfort and linens are wonderful and provide restful sleep. Our welcome amenity was delivered fresh and by a smiling and cheerful delivery attendant. The reward program is excellent and really drives our continued booking along with great value and prices. This hotel has great balcony views and provide a light, airy feeling. The glass doors are heavy and provide excellent noice control from the outside downtown festivities. Balconies are an excellent amenity at this hotel! When in Austin, Hotel Zaza truly deserves a high rank on your list of possible hotels.

My husband and I have been traveling for years to Austin for staycations from the DFW area and now our new home location in the Texas Hill Country.
We have stayed at the JW, the new Marriott, the Otis, the W and the Kimpton over the years. We went outside our usual Marriott experience and tried something new and boy are we thrilled we found Hotel ZaZa!!!
Hotel ZaZa was perfection. From the valet, to check in, check out and everything in between. The staff is amazing and make every effort to get to know your name and your cocktail of choice. The pool and Pool service was wonderful!
Food options are many and portions are very large and reasonably priced. We were treated the first night with a nice bottle of wine in our room. We assume it was offered to make up for the building construction occurring across the street but honestly, we were treated so well, that the construction never bothered us. Even on the pool deck, we had such a lovely experience with chill, vibey pool music, any city noise became part of the background music.
Live music was played each night at Group Therapy on the 7th floor. Talented local musicians and hip Austinites was the icing on the cake for their amazing bar staff and good foodand cocktails. My favorite drink was the secret garden and the burrata tomato toasts are not to be missed.
We had an 11th floor balcony room which was absolutely lovely. Very clean and well done esthetically. The bed was a dream cloud of fluffy pillows and bedding.
Take note that while I don’t believe this is an adults only hotel, it’s not really kid friendly which is exactly why we chose it for a couples get away.
We are already planning our next trip to ZaZa this fall. I almost hate to give away our little secret Gem in the city but it’s just too good not to share.

Third time staying at this gem of a hotel and it only gets better with every stay.
The design of the hotel is gorgeous and that extends to every corner, from the lobby to hallways to the rooms. The rooms are super comfortable and clean and they have little touches like cookies, wine and hot chocolate in the afternoon and coffee/tea on each floor in the mornings. The water pressure is also heavenly in the showers too!
Lastly, the front desk reception (special thank you to Olympia for all her help and especially giving excellent local tips on where to go) and valet team also make you feel like you're literally at home.

Hotel Zaza is a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of downtown - easy walking distance to many things to see and do in Austin. The rooms are spacious with attractive decor, large bathrooms with great showers. The beds are super comfy. The pool area is lovely and peaceful. We enjoyed getting meals and drinks outside while sitting poolside, but also in the restaurant/bar area which is also well designed and decorated. The best part of our experience was the service. The staff at the restaurant accommodated all requests and were incredibly friendly. Aaliyah at the front desk was so pleasant, informative and attentive, addressing all of our needs. Of course be prepared to spend a bit :), but we found it worth it.
