My husband and I recently discovered Drury. As apprehensive travelers during CoVid, we were elated to learn about their commitment to cleanliness and customer service. We stayed at 3 different locations, were impressed, and gave 5 star ratings to each. We were excited to stay at the Amarillo location largely due to others’ reviews. However we were sadly disappointed with most aspects and couldn’t disagree more with the great reviews from others. It was overcrowded and the staff was overwhelmed. The lobby, halls, & elevators were crawling with people (social distancing was non-existent) and the mask mandate was not enforced. We did not feel safe and I fear the consequences. There was not enough help at the front desk upon check in or checkout. The desk staff we encountered was indifferent (we found those working in the food & drink area, however, to be pleasant and helpful). Our room on the 6th floor was clean but the loud highway noise kept us awake most of the night as did the light coming through the window blinds (there were no curtains). The elevators were slow and unable to keep up with the crowds of people - we had to take the stairs several times - the stairwells were crowded too.. I wanted to speak to someone at checkout but the desk was unattended. A woman with a handful of towels saw me and said “Oh, I’ll be right back” but she never returned. I dropped my room keys at the front desk and left amidst others waiting there and still others coming & going, many without masks. Tonight, we are staying at the Wichita Drury and it will be receiving 5 stars from me. Everything here is top notch, protocols are being followed and I feel safe. This means 4 other Drurys we stayed at were excellent but Amarillo really missed the mark for us on all accounts - it was a HUGE disappointment and very concerning. We will not return and I would definitely not recommend it to anyone who is as concerned about CoVid as we are!…
My husband and I took a road trip during the COVID-19 pandemic to visit Palo Duro and Caprock Canyons in the Texas panhandle. We decided to make Amarillo our base while we visited the two locations. The Drury Inn in West Amarillo was highly recommended and I can see why. We stayed there three nights and found the staff to be excellent. They were helpful, friendly and wore face masks. The room was clean and since we asked to be placed away from the elevator, quiet as well. Breakfast during the pandemic was served by an employee and we got to-go boxes to take back to our room, though some people did eat in the dining area. In the evening, meals were served and were actually pretty good. We had not expected that but it came in handy, since we have not been eating inside restaurants during this time. I can't attest to the pool or the workout area since we didn't visit them during our stay. If you are looking for a good place to stay while in Amarillo, I definitely recommend this hotel.…
I am following some dietary guidelines but this menu that night fit just fine. Warm food served by staff wearing masks and cleaning up appropriately. Long drive in rainy weather so this warm food was good. Room was also clean and bed and BR adequate. Only there 12 hrs.
Stayed at Drury in Amarillo, Texas two nights over a two week vacation to Denver. Excellent rating. Very clean, staff wore face coverings, room was very clean, bathroom very clean. Evening Kick Back & breakfast were excellent, enough for dinner & breakfast.
They let us check in early as we were tired from the Texas heat and the driving we had done for the day. The entire hotel is pet friendly, which I love since we travel a majority of the time with our dogs. The hotel offers great food and free coffee any time. If you didn't want to eat at the hotel, there are plenty of options within walking distance. Let me just say, I felt like i was staying at a $500 a night hotel. The service was that good. The pool does require reservations at this time and the fitness center is currently closed. The room was huge and the bed was comfortable. We had a great view from our 5th floor balcony. We have decided that Drury Inn & Suites will be our new go to hotel whenever we travel.
