This hotel is right off the interstate with lots of restaurants nearby. We checked in late (10pm) and the receptionist was friendly and got us checked in quickly. There were bagels, apples and coffee set out for breakfast the next day. The rooms were clean and spacious.
I’m a Hilton’s Honor member so I stop at Hilton. This one was the norm. Excellent service, quick check in, and friendly staff. I had a coffee maker that did not work, and about 10 minutes after I let the front desk know, I had a new, working coffee pot. Grab-and-go breakfast was breakfast bars, waters, coffee, and fruit offered.
Y'all. I absolutely HATE leaving negative reviews. I can usually find a silver lining or something to make a negative experience an ok experience. Not quite the case here. We were booked into room 269 which is a Deluxe King room. I booked this type of room specifically because it showed a tub in the photos online and advertised a shower/tub in the description. We were in the area because we would be hiking through Palo Duro Canyon for three days. The bathtub was something I heavily desired so that I could soak my sore feet and muscles after the long days. I know, it's a silly thing to be upset over, but if you're going to advertise a perk, it should be provided. I am a Hilton Honors member so checked in on the app instead of interacting with people at the front desk. We opened the door into our room and found the world's worst designed bathroom with no tub, just a shower. We called down to the front desk to see if we could be switched to another room. Without hesitation, the gentleman said the hotel was booked completely. He didn't look at our reservation to see that we'd be here for 4 nights (perhaps something would open up later) and offered no other concession or help. With nothing to be done, we started to unpack. That's when I noticed the hand towel on the bathroom counter with what I'm guessing was beard trimmings from the previous guests. In normal circumstances, I'd think it was gross and just toss the towel on the floor and not use it. However, with the current day cleaning measures that Hilton says they're taking, I'm wondering what else this hotel isn't cleaning. If it didn't swap out a dirty towel for a clean one, what else isn't being changed? We called down again and requested clean towels which they DID bring up pretty quickly. Other complaints about the hotel: Someone spilled a drink in the elevator and it took an entire day before it was cleaned. How often are they cleaning high traffic areas? Signs everywhere requiring people to wear a mask and yet every night there were small groups of people hanging out in the lobby and sitting areas with no masks. One night, even the woman at the front desk didn't have a mask on and she had to scramble to put one on when we came in. Overall, our view of the staff was that they were unhelpful and unfriendly. The hotel itself is in desperate need of refurbishment in the rooms (which I believe is currently happening). The areas that I'd expected to be clean weren't and the room we paid for was not as advertised. If we ever visit this area again, we definitely won't be staying here.…
Good things first: Staff very professional, facilities and rooms very clean. However, the hotel is dated. - The TV remotes barely works. - Furniture scuffed all over - No plug in for Cpap without unplug lamp or clock. - No usb plug ins - Bed very uncomfortable - No breakfast offered due to COVID-19 and no take a snack bag. (TRU just down the road in Amarillo had a limited menu.).
We attempted to stay at this hotel on our way home from a 2-week driving vacation. First, the room was filthy - carpet was sticky, bathroom was revolting with hair on floor, counter and toilet and the shower pan was black with grime. We quickly decided we did not feel safe or comfortable staying in the room so returned downstairs and asked for new room. The front desk staff looked at us and shrugged, but before he even proceeded, we were confronted by a bus driver who was picking up staff from the hotel. The bus driver DEMANDED we move our vehicle from the portico while we were trying to get a room assigned. Decided that this wasn’t a place we were comfortable staying - and not the type of staff we’ve typically experienced at Hilton properties. Our suggestion - stay far away if you prefer clean properties!!…
