Arrived at 12 noon only to be told the room wouldn't be available until 3pm. Finally got into the room and it was awful, overpowering terrible smell and hadn't been cleaned properly. It was small - we advised reception when checking in that we were checking out the facilities for possibly 6 week or longer stays. This room would not be satisfactory for 2 people. Only 1 person can sit at the kitchen bench with the gas lift chair that doesn't work. There is no oven and the refrigerator is small. Hot plates take up valuable bench space so no where to put washed dishes. Dishes and cutlery still had food stuck to them, there was no detergent of dry cloth, remnants of food in the sink and all the bench and table surfaces were greasy. Dirt in the coffee machine - would not use. Bathroom too small for 2 people and less than half a roll of toilet paper. Wall mountable hair dryer was not mounted and bedside lamp didn't work. Bed was terrible and sagged in the middle. Made do for one night and when having a shower the next morning I found the source of the smell - it was the shower curtain. It smelt like stale urine. My wife removed the shower curtain and took it to reception saying we wanted to move out. After some resistance from the receptionist the manager came out and offered to move us to a two room suite for the same price. It was marginally better and we stuck it out for the remaining 4 nights of our visit. Unfortunately it was right by the lift and laundry area so you heard both through the thin walls.
The whole place smells off from the moment you walk in to the little reception area to the corridors that smell of cigarette smoke even though there is supposed to be no smoking. There was food on the floor of the 3rd floor corridor which wasn't cleaned the whole 5 days we were there.
The whole place is in dire need of renovation. Walls are damaged, timber work around the doors splintered, kitchen doors damaged, etc. the first room we stayed in should be condemned.
Lots of itinerant workers staying coming and going at all hours.
Would never go back and advise anyone thinking of staying there to think twice.
