Detailed Reviews
My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary and I decided to surprise her and take her for a short get away. I wanted to take her to a small town, and I decided upon staying at the Hearthside Manor Bed and Breakfast in Abbeville. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by our host, Lanie. She later served us a glass of wine along with crackers and cheese while we sat on the front porch enjoying the view of the yard and the old cedar trees. The grounds are very well kept and the old cedar trees are both unique and beautiful. Lanie provided recommendations for places to eat in town and she told us about a great place to dine (the Village Grill). The house has been nicely renovated and is super clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast the next morning and then took a bike ride (the bikes were provided by Lanie and Richard) into town to enjoy the shops and restaurants. This is a great B&B and Lanie and Richard are great hosts!

+1
I went just for a weekend getaway and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. I stayed in the Laura room. It was very spacious and the bed was so comfortable. It has a private bathroom and a big bathtub for baths. But my favorite part of the whole house though was that front porch. It was so relaxing swinging on the front porch swing, feeling the warm breeze and hearing the birds sing. I stayed out there for hours. I'm so glad I decided on this house to stay in. It is close to the grocery store (ingles), Family Dollar and just a couple minutes from the town square and yet still on Main Street. So straight shot to everything. If I had to describe this place in one word....Perfect!

Recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely B&B with my husband. Our hosts were gracious and thoughtful, breakfast was delicious, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. This place is a gem.

In the middle of June, I booked a room at this bed and breakfast for one week in October. I received conformation and my husband and I were looking forward to staying at the Hearthside.
A little over two weeks before our trip I received an email which I thought was an acknowledgement, considering the trip was so close. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The owner informed me that she had to cancel our reservation and was very sorry. Her daughter bought a house and she needed the bedroom for her family because the house wasn't ready to occupy. She recommended two other options. One I was not anxious to stay in based on unfavorable reviews and the other never got back to us. I had an extremely difficult time finding an alternative place to stay with such short notice. I eventually booked in another town.
I understand that sometimes things happen, but this is a lodging and you expect your reservation to be honored.

I have been staying here since July and will likely be here through January. I feel very at home here, room is comfortable and Richard and Lanie are wonderful hosts. I guess the only complaint I have is that there's no HD cable option and the tv provided isn't a flat screen. I have my own flat screen tv but no HD is kind of a drag. Not a lot to do in Abbeville so tv is my main entertainment. The big porch is wonderful to use in warmer weather and it's beautifully landscaped. A large kitchen area near guest rooms with refrigerators, microwave and coffeemaker.

My brand new wife and I stayed here the first night of our recent honeymoon. We wanted something within a short driving distance of our wedding venue. It had to be beautiful, quiet, well-recommended, and relaxing. Abbeville is one of the prettiest little towns I know and there is a lot in town to recommend it. I selected Hearthside Manor B&B based on the recommendations found on Tripadvisor and other places. We arrived in the early evening before dark to check in and fell in love with the place at first sight. The grounds are lovely, the house is in excellent shape, and the room was quiet and relaxing. Like the rest of the house, our large bedroom was furnished with quality antiques appropriate to the building. The bed was comfortable, and covered with good linens and pillows. After the hectic days leading up to our wedding, Hearthside Manor was an oasis. We sat on the front porch swing with glasses of wine and watched the birds play in the trees as the daylight waned. The breakfast the next morning in the lovely dining room was delicious and freshly prepared. We loved our stay and heartily recommend Hearthside Manor to everyone. We most definitely plan to use it again. We felt at home.

I came to Abbeville for a business trip. Since it is a small town, there are only bed and breakfast places for me to choose. I feel lucky that I chose to come to Hearthside Manor. The room is very clean and tidy with more than enough supplies. The yard is big, and it is not close to the street, so it is very quiet. Lanie is a warm hearted lady who serves me delicious breakfasts. Over all, it is a great place to choose!

My husband and I totally enjoyed our stay at the Hearthside Manor. The rooms are spacious, each with a private bath. We used the manor as a base for exploring civil war history in the area. The front porch is delightful and relaxing. We had a hearty breakfast and enjoyed the hospitality of the innkeepers. Thank you, we will come again. Jane B.

As a traveling physical therapist with less than two weeks before starting my new assignment in neighboring Greenwood, I was relieved to find last-minute long-term housing at the Hearthside Manor Inn. It was cozy, quiet and quaint with nearly all of the basic amenities needed for my two-month stay (the exception being laundry services). The room set-up was very private, even with other guests upstairs, and the kitchenette had everything needed for basic meal prep. Paul was an excellent host and kept the inn spotless while addressing any questions/concerns without delay. He even helped me jump start my car early one morning and took me to the auto shop to get a new battery. Thanks again for the hospitality! :)

My friend and I needed a relaxing weekend to escape the workplace stress. Hearthside Manor was a great choice. Upon arrival, we were greeted with soft relaxing music and the innkeepers were very friendly and inviting and made us feel right at home. The interior of the home has been appointed with antique and collectibles creating a elegant yet very warm atmosphere.
We took a stroll to the center and enjoyed the Historic town and the unique shops. Breakfast was great, very generous portions.
If you are considering visiting Abbeville, I highly recommend Hearthside Manor.
