Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

All of the B n Bs I called were full. The others were so expensive. A local recommended the Abbevilla to me. Since I only needed a room for one night, I decided to give this place s try. Mr. Patel is very friendly and runs a good bargain priced hotel.

We had to be off the "main" stream of things for one night to visit family and since they are staying here for work purposes we decided to stay as well instead of our usual Hampton which was 14 miles away. It's not bad, a little motel which the owners have had for 30 years. They are an older couple who have made this their life, and have done ok with providing a clean safe place to rest. Just the very basics but that's all we need most times, right? It is not the ritz but still clean and safe. We paid $62 for two beds. Better hotels at 14 miles away run $100....B&B's nearby run $115+

Often stay in locally owned motels & B&B's when traveling for business in numerous small towns/numerous states. This locally owned motel is by far one of the best I have stayed in for quite some time. Very friendly man/wife run the motel. it is very clean, good beds, overall experience very positive. Definitely not a 5 star hotel, but no complaints for a locally owned/operated motel. They get my recommendation for anyone staying in/around Abbeville.

Looks decent from the road but not inside….no closet, no hangers , no hairdryer, very low lighting in bathroom; our towels (only 2, small, thin, rough, very discolored and looked stained; washcloth was the same); sheets were a green but pillowcases were a different shade of green! Staff was non-verbal ( only saw one woman who checked me in , mostly with hand signals rather than words; definitely no “nice touches found; I read several glowing reviews on the motel but I think someone must have been paid to write them! Overpriced, but we were getting too tired to keep looking for something better. Cigarette burns in the sheets and bedspreads!!

Very nice room! The room was clean and comfortable. It had updated/flat screen t.v., comfortable beds, clean bathrooms. Would stay again! Close to downtown and restaurants. Staff was friendly. If you are looking for a comfortable, clean motel/hotel that is a good price, this is it!

Stayed 2 nights for a hunting weekend with my son. Nothing fancy just a clean room with friendly staff. Updated LCD TV and free wifi. Located right outside of town with several fast food restaurants and plenty of WMA land around for hunters.

I am currently working in Abbeville SC and needed a nice place to stay while in town. I had driven past this motel on my way to work and stopped in one evening. This motel is run by a older married couple and you can tell they have pride in their place. The motel is clean, newly renovated and quiet. Each room has a microwave and small fridge. Rooms are very large- including the bathroom. Each room also has a 4 cup coffee maker. The motel is next door to a restaurant that has received high ratings on Yelp. My only issue has been that the bed and pillows are very hard- bring a pillow with you if you require something softer. Also there are no comfortable sitting chairs in the rooms- just basic straight back chairs and the bed. Since I'm only there to sleep and change clothes before going back to work it hasn't matter much to me but might be important so someone staying there for other reasons

I've stayed there several times on my way thru upstate. Every time it's been very clean and updated. It feels like a new place with an old place quaintness. It's worth the 10 mile drive to get out of greenwood an stay at this place. If u can't live without Hampton Inn then it's not for u. However my wife is fairly picky and I'd bring her here in a minute

Once again we struck gold staying in a wonderful place.(it's not easy to find a great price and a clean comfortable hotel)

IF YOU'RE HERE TO DO A DAY OR TWO OF ROCKHOUNGIND AT *THE DIAMOND HILL MINE* PLEASE DON'T WASH YOUR 'LOOT' @ THIS WONDERFUL ESTABLISHMENT!!!! WAIT UNTIL YOU GET HOME. Be responsible, and respectful of the establishment. A TRUE ROCKHOUND BRINGS PROVISIONS ;-) if they -just cannot wait.... water bottle soap toothbrushes. ..
