I visited the Ambrosia hotel last week returning home this morning. I was extremely happy with all aspects of my holiday. The staff were fab and worked very hard to keep everyone happy, a special fondness for Adem and Ahmed who were a delight. I was lucky enough to be given a pool/seaview. The rooms were pleasant. The only moan is that there was no information guide re hotel; wifi codes reception tel number etc.. I appreciate that this was due to covid but a laminated guide on the rear of the door may have been helpful on arrival. Towels were changed daily and towels were available at reception for the pool. Due to covid no buffet service and with a fussy 14year old I was a little worried. However the staff were fab and gave other choices that she was happy with. (Pancakes for breakfast and chicken burger and chips for tea). Other hotels I've stayed with before didnt offer any flexibility which resulted on us wating out at our expense not the case at the Ambrosia and we happily sat and ate there every night. The restaurant is set away from the hotel and it gave the feeling of being out for dinner opposed to popping downstairs so to speak. The spa was a nice touch and having gone down to use the shower due to a late flight I was kicking myself for not having a treatment whilst on holiday. I read the mixed reviews before going away and the comments made about the stray dogs. Firstly the 2 hotel dogs (Alsatians) are gentle lovely dogs and see any stray dogs off of their turf should they enter the grounds. The stray dogs are all friendly and well fed by someone so no need for concern. A small sughestion is that the hotel put a plastic glass in the room so you can have something cool to drink when retiring to the room in the evening. Swigging our of a carton of juice was not ideal. That said I'm sure if I'd asked for a glass from the bar that wouldnt have been a problem for them. I guess I was just being lazy. Thumbs up for this hotel and a really great little find. I think jet2 rates it as 3 star plus and I would agree with this rating but feel that the staff and location of the hotel give it that extra bonus. Would stay here again without hesitation.

We arrived at Ambrosia Hotel in the middle of the night, we previously emailed the hotel in regards to medication needed to be stored in the fridge, we had no reply from the hotel but looking at the hotel website it stated that there was a mini bar fridge when we arrived, upon arrival to our room at 2 am the fridge did not work, we tried to say to reception that the medication needed to be stored between 2-8 degrees, but due to lack of English and our Turkish we were not able to get through to them to get the medicine stored away in the fridge, they did offer us to store this in the bar fridge but due to uncertainty we did not feel this would be best to be away from us from this long and not being locked away, thankfully our ice packs survived the night, the next day we tried to speak to the staff again in relation to the fridge which they finally changed for us but unfortunately this still didn't work, we gave up trying in the end and hoped for the best with the medication as we did not want to upset our time away. It wasn't a great start but the staff did try and help us.
We had half board food as this was our first time to Turkey, the food was very average and evening meals were disappointing to say the least along with breakfast, we decided not to eat breakfast any more, and ended up ordering from the menu instead or going out for drinks and food.
The room was supposed to be cleaned every 2 days unfortunately our room was done once only, with no replacement of toilet paper or towels, this didn't bother us as it was still clean but an occasional run to the trolley service for toilet paper and a fresh towel was needed.
Overall the hotel needs some improvement, but as a whole, the bar staff made our stays, very enjoyable, hard working people, the live music was fantastic and we enjoyed this fully, it was the only bar on the strip to have live music daily, I wished this was advertised a little more so more people could enjoy this more and they would be packed. A few changes needed to the beach beds and the place would be fab.
Overall the bar staff were fantastic, some times a little wait for food and a few discrepancies with our bill at the end of the trip but to us this was a minor thing as the staff were able to sort this out for us in the end.
All we can say is some mistakes happen and being a very beach bar and restaurant this can happen.
Overall the staff are very hard working, attentive to the customers and make you feel very welcome. The boys and girls did a fantastic job. The spa was great and the haman was fantastic.
Would I stay there again? Absolutely! We had a great holiday, met great people and thank you to the staff.

On the up side:
Location: Bitez is a small bay near to Bodrum and cannot rate it highly enough - perfect for a couples holiday getaway, promenade of local bars and restaurants all on the beach
Hotel setup: 4 star with beautiful pool overlooking the sea, private beach, front line sunbeds and umbrellas all included, plus bar service to the beach
Hotel Shamrock bar: Everything happens here, breakfast through to late night Live music til 12. Breakfast buffet is brilliant. Beautiful setting for cocktails on the decking overlooking the sea. special mention to the excellent staff at this bar/restaurant
ADAM (Mr Whatever), Amed, Yucel ,Ingin. Nothing is too much trouble, they made our holiday, they are exceptional and we've never been anywhere so friendly.
Hotel Cleanliness: excellent overall
On the downside:
Hotel Reception: no English spoken and some hospitality training seems needed
We asked for a late check out and unfortunately this transpired into an individual on reception trying to get us to pay cash in a side room at an extortionate rate.
We didn't trust this so went back the next day and paid through reception, very reasonable and set up our late check out which all went well.
Individual wasn't happy to let this go and sent someone to our room to speak to him on the phone on his day off telling us that we had a deal with him and we had to pay him cash. We refused and said thanks all sorted and had no issue after that. We're reporting this here so that this doesn't happen to other people.
Hotel Maintenance: We know it's post covid and it's slow to get all things up and running but some attention here is needed as our room was a bit like Fawlty towers.
Water cut off mid shower twice (local issue rather than hotel we think)
A/C didn't work, fixed then had to be fixed again (but they take 48 hours each time to do anything)
Patio door doesn't open or shut easily
half the lights in the room needed bulb changed but not sorted so we had to use phone lights
Toilet plumbing we fixed 3 times as it just runs or stops working until you take the cistern cover off the wall to reset it
Bed covers - you are given a small cover which is like a large towel and it falls off during night due to size. We had to take a sheet from the housekeeping trolley and hide it each morning so we had something to go over us properly at night
Mainly stating the above as they could so easily be sorted out
Overall,
Lovely hotel, such a great location, such lovely people working there and we had a wonderful relaxing holiday and just laughed off the rest.
Thank you all

Just returned from a week here in ambrosia. Brochure shows great rooms but we were very disappointed. Room 1 was so dirty you could write your name on the floor and bathroom mirror took 2 days to move us to room 2 was a bit better, we were ground gloor and door was broken which was a bit worrying. Also the safe can be picked up and removed from room easily. The staff at the restaurant were really nice and friendly but it wouldnt be enough to bring me back. Very disappointing indeed.

Recently returned from 2 weeks at Ambrosia Hotel. This was amended booking as manuela was closed. When we arrived we were given room facing empty rooms As we had paid extra for balcony and view we refused it. After arguing About it we were given room facing the pool. We then realised there was a hole in the floor. After 4 days complaining it was finally repaired. The next morning there was a puddle on the balcony we reported it and it was mopped up next day balcony was
Completely flooded. We realised there was a blocked drain. Getting a bit fed up by now we DEMANDED A new room.
We found the hotel didn't live up to photos on website it needs a full refurbishment
We tried the half board menu and found the food was tasteless bland and the meat was tough Ate out after 3 days
The guys in the Shamrock bar were brilliant hardworking
The beach was very nice and you can order food and drink brought to your sunbeds
Was very disappointed with the hotel and will not return

Our 2nd year here but different this year with COVID but the staff were fantastic food was a bit hit & miss at first but most nights the food was lovely.
Our room had an amazing view out to sea and was cleaned every day and the manager kindly let us keep it till 5pm on our leaving day.
Adem Ahmet and the guys in the bar were once again very helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.
Gengis kept the beach tidy and brought you drinks when asked.
Once again another great holiday at Ambrosia fingers crossed next year it will be even better.

Two weeks at the Ambrosia, a little apprehensive when reading some past reviews and yes there are some issues. However the staff and food, and our own particular room 104 were all of a good/ reasonable standard, The housekeeping staff were particularly helpful and cleaned the room exceptionally well everyday. The location of the hotel is good and convenient for the beach and also easy access to the rest of Bitez and then Bodrum by bus roughly every 15 min from 7am until midnight. Unfortunately the amount of tired and broken equipment (loungers parasols etc) both poolside and on the beach was disappointing and caused a number of peole problems, however we were out most days so not as much of an issue for us, although it did mean an early start to put a towel out if you didn't want a broken lounger!
My main issue was the temperature of the hotel pool which was freezing cold, even when the air temp was 28°c it felt bitterly cold for an Agean Hotel Pool, the sea was definitely much, much warmer. I asked about this but was told thst the pool is always cold towards the end of the season.
It is clear some internal works are now being done around the hotel, hopefully they will sort the guest rooms and the exterior equipment etc before next season. The reception and public areas front of house were well kept and clean. The bar / restaurant areas were clean, but again a little old tired and scruffy, the staff here were very helpful also, but you could tell even they were frustrated by some of the broken equipment. Overall the staff we encountered were all helpful and polite.
With a bit of clear attention and TLC to the fabric of the building especially in the areas most used, it could be a good hotel. It certainly has the location and views.
Overall a good holiday.

It does not please me to give a negative review moreso since hoteliers have taken a great hit during covid, but this hotels grand days are a thing of the past.
On entering hotel you are instantly pleased with the impressive decor, the room we had was large and a good size shower. the safe buttons were problematic, the water supply varied you often had hot or cold showers with no water appearing at the sink tap which meant we sometimes used bottled water to wash our hands.
The toilet was dirty the wife went out and bought toilet cleaner there was also no brush, now these are basic items that the hotel needs to correct and something we should not be doing.
On a b&b basis the breakfast choice was good but again although some staff worked hard, overhaul food & drink replenishment, table cleaning & customer preperation was unorganised.Staff need to have roles to carry out not running around handing out a knife here and a table wipe with a tissue for a new party, not once did i see anyone spray and wash tables.
We eat there on the first evening but it was poor in relation to other places so we just slept and had breafast for rest of week.
I do not blame staff but senior managers need to step up.

This was our 1st time in Turkey and really didn’t know what to expect at all. Had a bit of a ropey start but that was because of TUI and not the hotel.
However when we did arrive our room wasn’t ready so we’re put into a small twin room. The room was very nice and clean but also very small!!
The next day we were moved into a double room which had a partial view of the pool. It was lovely because in the evening you could chill on the balcony and listen to the music from the Shamrock.
This room was much better in terms of size, but the balcony was small and the aircon wasn’t great. But all in all it was much more suitable than the first room.
The room cleaners were brilliant, so friendly. We didn’t want our room cleaned daily but when we asked for it to be cleaned they did.
To be honest all the staff were great at the hotel. But I have to put in a mention for the guys at the Shamrock. Mr Whatever and his team were fantastic, crikey they work hard!! So friendly, very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble and really want you to have a great holiday.
We did have some treatments at the Spa. The Spa man who it going around the hotel and beach is lovely so please book through him. We had a Turkish Bath and an aromatherapy massage, absolutely gorgeous and highly recommended. The girls at the spa we’re brilliant!!
Our TUI rep was great too, we booked several trips through him, always happy to chat and not just sell!! We had several Euros left from a previous holiday and used these to pay for the trips.
I have to say that reading some of the negative reviews, some are harsh. Is the hotel 4*? I’d say a very nice 3* as the finishing details weren’t always as they should be. It was a shame but the lobby bar was closed as was the bar by the pool, not sure why!
I wasn’t keen on the beach as it’s gritty… bit like builders sand, not sand sand!! Also people appeared not to use the plenty of bins or ashtrays available!!! But every morning they were out there cleaning up ready for that day. The sea was lovely, safe if you have children as you can go out a fair way before your out of your depth.
The food across Bitez is a bit samey but the quality of the food at the hotel and Bitez was great, couldn’t fault it at all. So, book it and see for yourself.
We would be happy to return to this hotel, we had a great holiday and looking forward to seeing them again.

This hotel needs a revamp to put it to how it should work but in all different ways .Outside toilets quite simply need cleaning and water flushing through every hour or so.
Bar service is not sufficient due to lack of staff .Music through the day is too loud and boom boom all da so no time to relax quietly .
The live bands x2 are the same all week with same music Save your money to employ more quality staff.
The main body of staff here are all hard working .keep it up Adem Ahmet and Co.
