Customer service is great. They gave us a check in earlier and upgraded our room. We got a very spacious room with a beautiful view.
They have the most beautiful beach in Bardakci cove. Nice sand and clear sea.
If you are looking for some entertainment you won't find it here but if you are looking for a nice and peaceful vacation you will get it here.
There are always enough beach chairs and towels.
I would recommend them to consider at least light all inclusive options. Now, they are offering half board, but you can have lunch at the beach bar.
Only wifi didn't work properly most of the time.
We took a 10-min boat ride to reach Azka Otel. The staff was super kind and attentive. We paid 150TL per person for entrance, which actually means: You pay this money in advance for food and beverages. The good thing is that the food was suberb and in decent portions. We were more than full at the end of the day (Cokertme Kebab was my favorite, tbh).
Another thing I appreciated was that regardless of the hot weather, the waiters, waitresses, and the rest of the staff always had masks on, so we felt comfortable regarding Covid precautions.
We decided not to take a risk, so we visited the hotel the next day. Again, it exceeded our expectations.
I highly recommend the facilities. I will definitely come here again next time I visit Bodrum.
The facilities - the pool was shut due to COVID (even though the hotel had a big wedding on the last day so this didn't quite make sense to us) and we were disappointed about this as there was no warning on the website or booking.com. In addition, all the other pools on this strip of hotels were open so we actually went to La Quinta for daily use - highly recommend only 150 lira for the day inlcuding food&drink. The views from Azka are beautiful, the location is good and you can get a water taxi to Bodrum centre for 10 lira each outside Paradise beach bar at the end of the bay.
Food - the breakfast is very Turkish (nuts, cheese, salad, meat) and dinner was good. There aren't any labels of what the food is and not all staff can speak good English so there was a slight barrier here, especially as my boyfriend has a nut allergy. On arrival you are told you can't bring any food/drink from outside the hotel but as they don't offer all inclusive, a supermarket on site or free water in the room it's difficult to adhere to this rule.
Overall, the hotel is safe in the pandemic, temperature checks on arrival, staff wearing masks at all times and clean rooms. There is nothing to do at this hotel in the evenings, no entertainment, no music so we often went to Paradise beach bar. The food is good but definitely not continental like some big resorts in Turkey I have been to in the past. Majority of staff are friendly, but being the only English ones at the hotel we didn't quite get the same treatment as the Turkish guests and were often overlooked...
Hotel has a capacity of 500.This year in early July it was almost half full. The hotel, despite the fully dedicated staff, this time was not up to our expectations. The nightly price was too high, for example even for high-end wage earners in Turkey. As yet, there was a serious of shortcomings in the hotel. For example during our 14 days stay there were no internet in the rooms and the same, which was available in the lobby area, cannot reach to snack bar (on the shore). The explanation given was the Internet system was under renovation work. Even so the guests should not have suffered. Another problem was with the meals. Although the main course (daily red or white meat, and fish) and sweets section, the rest was not very satisfying, at least not at the level of previous years. Sometimes same food cooked in a day was offered again in subsequent days, thus freshness was not there. As another example walnut offer in the breakfast was seen only in first two days in our presence in the hotel, after which disappeared and the supply problems raised. The explanation given for kitchen was that the cook was in the process of changing. The containers for antibacterial liquids were not diligently filled despite our requests. Well last but not least towel distribution had a good number of problems like scarcity. The main reason for it I believe was the removal of the practice of cards to get the towels , so that the guests were not able to find a towel, the other guests were going back to their rooms leaving the towels in beach area or sometimes to take them to their rooms.
I should also mention the hard working, dedicated staff I could hold their names. At the reception area Ms Deniz, and Mr Baris were wonderful in solving unexpected issues. In the same area Melih is an excellent handyman and Ozlem was a quiet power serving everyone. On the snack bar side (sea shore) Furkan, problem solver, Hamza, unlikely true runner, Morris, English-Turkish interpreter from Nigeria were noticeable . On the dinner area Ahmet, the Smile was always present, together with senior Unal, assiduous Hasim, pretty Yagmur, incredible music lover Eyyup, studious Nur and quietly efficient Mahsum were forefront. I was able to get some of them pictured, I attach them hereto.
All in all with expected improvement, I believe we expect to come back again to this lovely hotel.
I would say the place is ok to visit, you won't regret but make sure you have your Google translator with you.
The hotel has the best locality and has its own private beach directly in front of the hotel. This beach has proper beach sand and not pebbles as found elsewhere. I found the sea a pleasure to swim in. The meals were a culinary delight with amazing selection to choose from. The buffet is so vast that it will suit any palate or dietary requirement.
Coupled with amazing service from staff and management nothing is too much trouble. The responsiveness from staff is world class.
The rooms are comfortable, neat and cleanliness is superb
It is a short walk into Bodrum and taxis are very inexpensive. Security are quick to summon taxis when needed. Water taxi is also available nearby.
the fitness centre is well equipped with an indoor pool. To run from hotel is an absolute pleasure as the scenery blows you away on run.
I don't believe you will find a better value for money and locality hotel on the island.
we will definitely return and recommend the hotel to all our friends!
Thank you for an amazing stay!
The facilities of the hotel are pristine and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.
Regardless of the current Covid situation, I have not had any worries about my health as Azka Hotel are adhered to social distancing measures. All staff are wearing masks and PPE at all times and specially when serving food.
At the time of this review, I’m looking at the ocean and it is a wonderful view and a great place to swim.
The hotel is very close to town, just a ten minute walk or by taxi boat if you fancy a short yet scenic trip.
Will always recommend Azka Hotel!
Evening buffet varied each evening which was nice
Location is great with only a short taxi ride to the city center
"The water taxi costs 3 EUR, alternatively 40 Lira, the bus only 10 Lira. We always took the boat in and the bus back due to the one way road"Read full review
