The Bayleaf is the only boutique hotel in the heart of the country's premiere heritage site, the Intramuros -the seat of Spanish government more established than 400 years ago. Located inside massive walls, Intramuros is home to very old churches, museums, national parks and courtyards. With 57 rooms and suites, The Bayleaf also has 5 modern meetings rooms, a 280 capacity ballroom, an all day dining panoramic restaurant on the 9th floor, a roof deck al fresco lounge on the deck and a rustic Churros cafe on the ground floor.

The Bayleaf Intramuros is lauded for its prime position in the heart of historical Intramuros, making it an excellent base for explorers, as noted by numerous guests. While the hotel earns praise for its cleanliness and the helpfulness of its staff, some visitors suggest that the rooms could benefit from better soundproofing and modern updates.
Opinions on value are mixed; some guests feel it's reasonably priced, whereas others point out the high costs for dining and extra amenities. Despite these concerns, the overall atmosphere and service quality are generally well-regarded.

Detailed Reviews
It was the perfect venue for our wedding preparations and shoot. Adequate room space and amazing view of Manila from the windows and the roof deck. Reasonably priced.
Great breakfast too - good variety of food, not the same menu every day. Hot chocolate drink had good texture, fish dishes and sausages stood out, perfectly crispy bacon, with an egg station where you can request your eggs to be cooked as you like it.
Staff - from reservations to housekeeping to front desk - were all quick to respond, polite, attentive and professional. I'd even rate the staff higher than 5 :)
Because of the nature of our event, however, it was a bit inconvenient to have been provided only one keycard per room. The doors were also sensitive, sounding off an alarm when you leave them open or unlocked for a few seconds. Since there were suppliers and guests coming in and out of the rooms, the result was hilarious at best and confusing at worst.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience and certainly worth recommending.

The Bayleaf Intramuros was as advertised, perfect location within walking distance of local attractions, Rizal park, museums, and China town. The restaurant on the roof had fantastic views of the city at night, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Breakfast was delicious with Filipino and European or American menu items to choose from. All the staff were friendly and helpful from the door man to the front desk to greeters in the restaurant. A special thank you to Kim, Sky, and Rona who were all very helpful during and after the typhoon, I can’t say enough about the service and hospitality expressed by them and Bayleaf Intramuros. Salamat Po!

I spent two nights here specifically to be in historic Intramuros for sightseeing without needing to use transport and be stuck in horrid Manila traffic. In that way, I liked being able to walk all around Intramuros, over to Chinatown, etc...totally on foot from the hotel.
The feel of the hotel is swanky and the front desk staff is professional. I was a bit annoyed that I was stuck one night next to loud screaming girls, then wedged between a noisy, large group of high school students. While I can't blame the hotel for guest behavior, the soundproofing is only so effective.
The room was overall modern, functional and comfortable as one would expect in this price range. A/C cooling worked very effectively, good shower pressure and comfortable bed by my standards. The Wi-Fi was very slow throughout my stay, so often I would just give up and go off of it to be able to do the simplest thing.
I only did breakfast one of the two days as it was extra. I was quite shocked that for such a large luxury hotel, breakfast was really basic and honestly, mediocre. It essentially consisted of some sliced bread, pineapple, one type of pastry and a few hot dishes like fried rice or beef loaf. I was just really shocked that the selection looked like what I've had at small boutique hotels across the world, definitely for a large hotel like this it was really odd.

I chose this hotel as I wanted somewhere close to Intramuros and the airport. The breakfast was only ordinary, catering mainly to the locals.
We wanted to dine on the Sky Deck but were told that it was booked out to functions, people who didn’t even stay at the hotel. Our sleep was disrupted due to the noise from the adjoining room, kids running, yelling and screaming. The division walls are not acoustic rated.

We stayed at The Bayleaf Intramuros for 10 nights. Every time we entered and exited the building, the kind staff greeted us with warm welcomes. The room was clean when we arrived. A daily call was made by the staff to ask if we needed a room cleaning. They responded very quickly to calls and assistance was sent immediately when requested. The room service was delicious and very convenient as it was 24/7. This was perfect for the late night dinners that we had after a long day. The buffet breakfast in the morning was very filling (bread, soup, main dish, and fruits). The atmosphere was clean and safe. The staff also conversed in english very well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Who would have thought that a place this serene actually exists in the heart of Metro Manila? In the age of COVID 19 this would be a perfect hideaway from the crowds. We got the deluxe room which was really nice, although you need to ask for extra soap and room slippers are not readily available. The view from the 5th was stunning as it was overlooking the walls of Intramuros and a giant golf course with the Manila City Hall as the backdrop. Sadly there was nothing much to do in this hotel no gym and no pool. Breakfast buffets was basic. But the skydeck restaurant was phenomenal.

Bayleaf is a great place to stay for sightseeing in Intramuros. Easy access to tricycle rides and calesa. The Rizal park is short distance away and contains an interesting Chinese garden and the Anthropology museum which is full of interesting and informative artefacts. The hotel itself is very popular and therefore getting a table in the restaurant at night was tricky, especially as we stayed over Valentine's weekend. The Philippine people really go over the top here, and it was a shame that this was not pointed out to us when we arrived. The roof top bar has great views of the city, but the music is played at top volume and therefore conversation is limited. The bar staff are quite slow by Western standards., you can wait a while for your drink. It would benefit from a quieter bar areas, where you could meet and not have food early in the evening. If you didn't want food you did feel a bit in the way.

If you are looking for a soft and fluffy pillows then Bayleaf can provide you that for sure!
We really enjoyed our 3days and 2nights stay to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary in Bayleaf Intramuros and your staff are very courteous and helpful! They managed to served my additional room arrangement request and I'm so happy for that!
However, just a few honest comments for improvement to continuously achieve excellence in hotel industry... in room 508, we can hear the voices of other occupants next to our room. Maybe they do also hear us in parallel, perhaps something to improve more in terms of privacy.
Another thing is the amount of shampoo and body wash for a couple is a very small portion that you really need to improve. It's a good thing we brought our own preferred brands, but still something needs to improve if others won't be able to prepare like what we did.
Then the last one is the breakfast selection, maybe cereals are served in other days because during our stay congee was served on the first day and champorado the other day. Maybe if you can add the cereals and soup in your daily breakfast menu then I think that would be great!
Hope you find my comments and feedback reasonable. Again thanks and we do really appreciate your friendly and attentive hotel service! Wish you more suceess!

Dear Journey 51401071524, Thank you so much for your review of the Bayleaf Intramuros. We appreciate you taking the time to provide your honest feedback and we are delighted to hear that overall, you enjoyed your stay as part of celebrating your 18th wedding anniversary. We acknowledge and apologize for not meeting your expectations in terms of noise levels between rooms and the amount/quality of toiletry supplies provided. Rest assured we will take this into consideration for improvement moving forward. Your opinion is highly valued by us and it is important to us that all guests feel comfortable during their stay. In regards to breakfast selection, our variety changes on a daily basis, but thank you for flagging conge as a particular favorite dish - we will keep an eye out for more recipes with which to diversify our menu. We hope that despite any shortfalls noticed this time around, we might have the opportunity to welcome you back in future for an even better experience. Regards, The Bayleaf team

The first time we saw the place, we instantly fell in-love with the view from the Sky Deck of The Bayleaf Intramuros Hotel, overlooking the Manila skyline, historical buildings, Intramuros walls, golf course, the Manila Bay and sunset.
We admired its building facade and architecture. The classic design is one of a kind, perfect for our wedding.
It was a great relief for us to be able to book 4 major wedding requirements with one supplier: the outdoor ceremony venue, the indoor reception venue, the catering service and the hotel preps/accommodation. The Bayleaf was fully able to provide all through the reliable support from Events Account Manager Ms. Joyce Ancuna. She is trustworthy and dependable, ensuring all our requirements and concerns are met.
The Bridal Suite is huge, suitable for wedding preparations. The Muralla Ballroom is cozy and adequate for intimate events up to 200 guests. We were delighted by the fresh flowers set-up per table at the reception.
Definitely loved the dinner buffet. Many guests commented that the food was sumptuous and plenty. Compliments to the Chef!
Indeed, there is an awesome place in Manila for a uniquely beautiful wedding experience in the city. Thank you The Bayleaf Intramuros Hotel team for our truly joyful and memorable wedding.

Stayed at Bayleaf Intramuros during our brief stay in Manila to visit family last October 2023 and we were welcomed by an accommodating staff that was always willing to assist whenever we had questions about amenities or their services. The location is central to the Metro Manila area which made it easy to travel to different parts of the city.
We'd like to extend a special thanks to the reception staff who were kind and cooperative when we asked for specific services such as luggage storage during our brief travel to another country or assistance with weighing our luggages to meet airline requirements. Also, a special gratitude for Aira Evangelista and her team at 9Spoons for great service at the daily breakfast buffet offering. Aira went above and beyond when we asked her about a specific breakfast menu item and also about a local delivery, being unfamiliar with the LaLaMove service - she was able to answer any questions we had and offer solutions to an issue we ran across with. Thank you again to the entire team at Bayleaf Intramuros and we look forward to our next stay at your property.
