Dorsett Kuala Lumpur earns high marks for its prime location, with guests frequently commending its close proximity to shopping havens like Pavilion and TRX, along with easy access to local sights. The hotel's cleanliness, including immaculate rooms and eco-conscious practices, often impresses visitors. While the rooms are deemed comfortable and well-equipped, a few guests suggest that they could benefit from modernization. The diverse breakfast offerings and attentive service are highlights, yet some guests note the amenities could use an update. Overall, many consider the hotel a great value for its offerings.

Stayed here for the first time in October with the family. Although the location is very good and central, there were a few negatives.

1) Hand towels are only provided upon request. Also only 1 toilet roll is provided. We were a family of 5 that had booked 2 rooms so some forethought by Dorsett housekeeping would have been useful instead of us having to call them frequently to ask for hand towels and extra toilet roll.
2) The breakfast is decent overall but not of much variety
3) The rooms are basic but do the job for a comfortable stay
4) Room lighting is a bit dim
5) The hotel didn’t have a weighing scale to measure the weight of luggage (something i think should have been provided by a hotel claiming to be 4 star)

Overall decent hotel because of the location but otherwise I would any stay here again. I would say this is more of a 3 star hotel.

Smiling and welcoming staff at the door, clean and comfortable suites.
Unfortunately, what could have been perfect stay was marred by lack of consideration for guests' comfort, trainee staff not responding professionally.
Check-in is strictly from 3pm onwards. When we arrived after 2.30pm, we were told to wait at lounge area which was filled with other waiting guests. Our request for same floor or connecting rooms were met with unsmiling faces. There was no other staff to welcome or invite us to have a drink while waiting. After 3pm, we had to approach the front desk again to query about the rooms, before making our way to the suites.

On the last day of stay, we requested for extension and offered to pay the remaining amount for the extended hours. We were assured it can be settled upon check out. Access card did not work on the last day. When staff helped to rectify it, we brought up about the extended stay and it was not fully acknowledged if that could have disrupted the access. While we were lunching out, front desk contacted and asked that payment be settled right away. The inconvenience was disruptive to say the least. When we returned, cards were deactivated by the system. We needed to use the room but again, payment had to be settled before the cards could be reactivated (for remaining 2hours of stay). The staff merely apologised for the miscommunication (apology is the bare minimum) but the repeated inconveniences, front desk staff who do not display warm hospitality nor consider guests' comfort as priority, left a sour note. I have enjoyed far better hospitality from accommodation with less stars.

The hotel is located close to the Pavilion Mall Bukit Bintang area. I booked a Dorsett Suite which had a separate sitting area and sleeping area. The room was big and nicely furnished. There were minimal towels and I had to call housekeeping for hand towels and also extra rolls of toilet paper. Room slippers were too small for my feet. The view from the room was good. As my room was on a higher floor, it took awhile for the hot water to come after turning on the shower, at least 10 minutes. There are lots of good food nearby. Pavilion Mall is under 10 minutes walk away. Berjaya Times Square is around 15 minutes walk.

While this hotel can look dated compared to its contemporaries springing up, this hotel still represents exceptional value based on its price point. The main allure is its location, with Pavilion just a short walk away. It is in a safe area with the Ritz Carlton as its next-door neighbour and TRX, KLCC etc all walking within distance (20-min). The closest Metro would be the Bukit Bintang Station next to Lot 10 (less than 10 min walk) and you can easily use that to access Bukit Jalil stadium for matches and concerts, though you need to make one or two train transfers (either route is viable). The room itself is clean, the bed is extremely comfotable but the TV has limited channels, though it has Astro Supersports 1 & 2 which means you get to watch some (not all) of the English Premier League games. The swimming pool is nice to swim in but note that the gym only (frustratingly) has one threadmill. This is the first time ever I have to wait for my turn to use a threadmill in a hotel. Take note that guests are charged RM11 a night for carpark and you need to maneuvre very, very tight ramps between levels. This is an old hotel where the carpark was designed for compact cars. Maybe if you go with an MPV it would be better to valet at RM30. The other issue is while the front desk staff are extremely nice and friendly, any requests for travelling directions would be met with the advice to use Grab. They are not too familiar with the Metro routes in the area. Grab is usually a good and inexpensive way to get around but the traffic in the area is extremely busy from the late afternoon onwards. One advice is to upgrade to the Deluxe room at just a very nominal fee, the extra size is really worth it. All in all, you can understand how this hotel was a 5-star hotel 10 to 20 years ago and while currently dated, it is still exceptional value based on the price point and the friendly staff will make you feel warm and welcome.

There are very few hotels that have rooms to accommodate a smally family of 4. The Dorsett Bukit Bintang is one such hotel that have family rooms which not only allow the whole family to stay together but also to interact, play, cook, eat and even wash our clothes during the one week of our stay.

There isn’t much facilities within the hotel other than the usual Gym and Swimming Pool which isn’t something to shout about. Even the restaurant which we tried our breakfast on the last day of stay did not let me regret not having breakfast included in the booking.

The location of the hotel is what made me love Dorsett Bukit Bintang so much. Shopping malls, convenient stores and food outlets are so readily available, all within walking distance. You will not get very wet walking to these places with an umbrella even on rainy days. Not thunderstorms, just normal rain.

The Pavilion, Ferenheit 88, Lot 10, Sungai Wang Plaza and even Berjaya Time Square as well as Jalan Alor are all within walking distant of not more than 20 minutes stroll. The Exchange TRX, a very new shopping mall, is just a 5 minutes walk across the street.

I would like to commend the ever courteous staff who had attended to all our needs. The reception, the queries and immediate response to our complaints on the phone and the TV as well as the detergent for the washing machine.

I would most likely book here again for my next family trip.

Thank you Dorsett !!

The hotel location is just 4 minutes from the city centre. The location is very good . The staff are very polite, friendly and professional, alway willing to assisted with any queries or concern. The breakfast is excellent, good variety of food to select from and catered for different countries. The room service is superb, and the house keeping service is amazing. The room is clean daily and we received fresh toiletries such as shower cap , tooth brush, paste, shaving cream etc. We have an enjoyable and relaxing holiday. The only concern we have is that the gym facilities are old and required upgrades.

Very centrally-located, I mean it is literally a 2 minutes walk away to Pavilion. Stayed for five days with my family, a group of 8 (includes elderly and children). Prior to my stay, I requested specifically the preferred bed type of each room and that we want all rooms to be in same floor, I can confirm that Dorsett satisfies our needs and all our requests are being attended. I also want to appreciate the housekeeping who consistently cleans out all our rooms everyday, eventhough some days we went out from our room a bit late (>12 PM), thank you so much for that. In regards to breakfast, the main menu changes everyday and I think they want to ensure us to not get bored with the offered breakfast. Kudos to the restaurant team!

If I can spot anything wrong, it might be the carpet in hallway & room that looks very outdated and in need of refurbishing. Other than that it is a spotless stay at Dorsett KL!

Great rooms, great location. The room is clean and the lobby is good. What makes them different is that each room has a WATER DISPENSER. No more getting plastic bottles from the hotel, no more buying water bottles from stores. Great initiative from Dorsett for going green!

The WiFi was great (no issues). We had access to the residence WiFi and the receptionist also gave us access to the hotel WiFi which is separate from the residence, just in case we needed to use it whilst within the hotel grounds.
