Close to Shin-Imamiya train station if you travel by train or just 1 minute walk from Dobutsuen-mae subway station exit 3 ( Midosuji Line or Sakaisuji Line) but if you catch Nanki train from Kansai airport , it takes about 8 minute walk. The hotel is very clean, room is neat and comfortable with full equipments. There are small kitchen and laundry room at the first floor. The front door will be locked for security at midnight but all guests can unlock by their room key cards. My flight was 1.30 hour late so I arrived the hotel after midnight but the receptionist ( a man about 50-60 years old) opened the door for me and help me check-in with sympathy. He explained everything with very good English speaking. Behind the hotel, there is a well known Donki Department store or MEGA Don Quijote ( the most famouse one is in Dotonburi area). There is Family mart on the right side. Very convenient to take subway to Namba to enjoy shopping or take JR Osaka loop Line and transfer to JR Yumesaki Line at Nishi-Kujo station to visit Universal Sudio. Wi-Fi is good but PC at the lobby is not practical becuase the key board is out of date. It had no button for "@" , then writing e-mail to anyone is impossible!!!
I do suggest to make reservation directly to the hotel;selene@chuogroup.jp, it is easier to get a good room beacuse I found that there was no available room on the day I wanted by Agoda or Booking.com but after directly contact to the hotel, I easily got a room. Please follow the instruction the staff told you in the E-mail and your room will be reserved completely.

I went here with other three girls, so we rent a dorm room. The dorm room is supposed for 6 people, but it's not peak season so we're having a blast for living in that room. The room is pretty spacious and has one toilet, one bathroom, and has a hairdryer!!! We can hear train is coming, but not that loud. Shin-imamiya station is only 3 minutes walking anyway from the hotel.

The hotel is side by side with Chuo hotel. At first, I was making mistake by going in to Chuo hotel, then it turned out Chuo Selene is just next to Chuo hotel. Chuo Selene is a new hotel, so it's really clean and convenient. It's near 7-11 (convenient store) too!!

There's a kitchen on the first floor, we can use it for free. We can also borrow iron, iron table, water heater, and several appliances if needed for free. We get free hotel slipper, and towels too. Hm...what else?? I really think that this hotel is really cheap for that facility XD

by adding 200Yen, we can get 2 croissants and a soup every morning. But I don't recommend this. Better to buy breads at 7-11 nearby. In the first floor, there's laundry machine too. Only 200Yen for washing and 100Yen for drying. Very cheap!! And not to mention, there's a locker too. So if you've already check out and want to spend your day in Osaka while waiting your flights, you can put your luggage here at ease. Only 100Yen. But the size is normal size. I saw someone with a very big suitcase that can't fit in the locker, but the staff was kindly put the luggage inside the staff room.

I'll definitely comeback to this hotel if I go to Osaka!

We primarily chose this hotel because of its location and value for money. Stayed 4 nights before moving to another city then came back to stay at its sister property next door. The hotel is family-run, with the teenage kids speaking some English. We did not have problems with checking in late in the evening, and check out was through a keycard drop box in the lobby. They hotel had a shared kitchen that we didn't use. We did use the laundry facilities and enjoyed the free coffee and tea in the lobby which was quite a treat after a long day of walking outside in the cold. The room had twin beds but my husband and I could fit in one of the beds. I have read reviews that said the noise from the passing trains were bothersome, but I slept well throughout our stay. Our room was on the 2nd floor. There are convenient stores half a block away, just beside a local restaurant where we had breakfast twice. There are 2 subway stations nearby, one being included in the JR Pass route. Also, a small mall near the subway station where we did our last minute shopping for goodies to bring back home. There are homeless people on the sidewalk heading to the hotel but I did not feel unsafe even at night. I would recommend this for budget travelers looking for hotels with priority on location.

Nice clean room, however myself and 3 fellow females were horrified when a drunk member of male staff made a loud entrance into our dorm at 2am to sleep in an empty bed there! We were concerned for our safety. We have complained to management but they seem unwilling to take responsinbility or to investigate this further.

if you want to stay out of the busier central Osaka area, this is definitely worth your money.

situated between JR Shin-imamiya and the Dobutsuen-mae subway station, it gives you the choice to choose which transport to take. for travelers who wants to visit Tsutenkaku Tower and the Shinsekai area, it is walkable from the hotel. the Dobutsuen-mae subway is convenient if you want to visit the Den-den Town, Kuromon Market and Namba Dontobori area (much faster than taking JR). JR Shin-imamiya is not without it's merits as there is a straight train to Kansai Airport.

room wise, we always hear about how small Japanese rooms can be (and believe me, nothing can be smaller than the room i stayed in Tokyo), but our twin room was very spacious with lots of space for luggage, and maybe even a third bed if you're traveling for three. the toilet cubicle is the standard you usually see with budget hotels, nothing fancy there.

standard amenities like bath towel, hair dryer, toothbrush and toothpaste are given free of charge. if you need a kettle for boiling, you can always get it from the front counter.

most importantly, there's free WIFI in all hotel rooms. just remember to get the password from the front counter.

We stay here for 11 nights in triple room on the 6th Floor. The hotel location is the best thing for this hotel, it close to JR Shin-Imamiya, Subway Dobutsuenmae, and Nankai Shinimamiya. Also, you can walk within 5 minutes to Tsutenkaku tower which is one of the sightseeing place in osaka. Lawson and Familymart are located on the corner of the street. Super convenience.
The staffs especially manager is not ok. He is not a friendly person at all. It was obvious that he has no service mind. Sometimes we feels like we are insulted because we are Thai since the first time we check-in and pay by cash. He kinds of surprise and talk to other staff in japanese like it's weird that we pay by cash not credit card. Then we think we're done from checking in but it's not. He tried to repeat us the rules and regulations in Thai which is waste our time since the English version was done before. Another morning we just tried to fyi that the pocket Wifi will be sent to the hotel but the manager''s mood is not good so he express the weird ignorance face to us. That's the moment i'm not ok with his manner. As i expected, he didn't note our request to other staff. At that night we have tried to ask the staff about our pocket wifi but woman staff don't understand English, so we have to try again with other staff in the late night. Lucky enough that he understand English so we got the pocket Wifi.
Since then I try to avoid requesting drinking water with manager (i'm so silly right?) because i dont want to pissed of from his manner again.

Generally, the hotel is good and fair considering its cheap price level. We got the 6-bedroom dormitory all for ourselves even if we are only four in the group. We wanted a bigger space that's why. I would throw 5/5 in cleanliness and its security aspect. 3 train stations are just few stones away from the hotel. However, if you're looking at a more dynamic place with shops and restaurants nearby, this is not the hotel for you. The closest store is a block or two away (Family Mart).

Well first off, i was in Osaka for 4 days, but i booked my first and last nights with another cheaper hotel alone and in Chuo with my friend. The first hotel did not have water heater at all...... when i booked into Chuo, i asked the manager if it was possible to extend one more night for me and they helped me out. the manager even helped me to call the first hotel and helped to cancel my stay over there. Their receptionists speak chinese and japanese so it was fine :) Manager could speak english well. and he loves talking about Singapore haha.

Anyways, there free breakfast in the morning, but only simple bread and tea at the recep. There is always water there, so no need to worry. Their computers have fast connection speed. their wifi is by floor. and very strong too! Clean rooms, clean toilets. their room heater works well too.
the hotel is just barely a 5 mins walk from the JR station or even shorter from the local line.
there is a 24 hour convenience store nearby too. If you're hungry at night, there is a takoyaki store just a little bit further from the convenience store where you can try out Osaka Takoyaki!

love my stay here! will stay here again when i go back to Osaka!

Stayed in the dormitory room as a young solo traveller. Only two/three of us in a 6-person room, which is equipped with a toilet and a shower. Amenities are provided. As somebody else mentioned, you can hear the trains passing by but it isn't loud. The staff answered my questions but they often gave me an odd look which made me feel like I was being somewhat annoying (rather uncomfortable). I also had a misunderstanding with the owner about using the luggage storage lockers. I had asked a member of staff about keeping my luggage there overnight (and repeated my question to make sure) while I was away and she repeatedly said it was alright. When I came back to retrieve my luggage, I bumped into the owner and got told off sternly, which was not a good experience. I'd say the room's a good place especially for the price, but be cautious in terms of communication and check with the owner instead of the staff for "major issues" to avoid anything unpleasant.
