We were very happy with the hotel. Excellent facilities and the rooms were lovely.
We stayed in the Japanese style room and then the Pokemon room with 2 adults and 3 children.
We loved the Pokémon room, so spacious and the kids loved the theming.
We were more comfortable in the Pokemon room than the Japanese style room, which was smaller. It did easily accommodate the 5 of us, but we preferred a standard family apartment with proper beds and dining table. The room was exactly as described.
We walked to Shijo station easily and convenience stores and restaurants within 10mins.
Staff were very nice. I was very pleased with an early check in which was so appreciated.
We stayed in the Japanese style room and then the Pokemon room with 2 adults and 3 children.

We highly recommend to stay at this apartment! We got the four single bedroom and the room was massive and had a separate living area as well along with the basic cooking items needed to travel with our family with two young children. They also provide a free mobile phone device which has Google maps translate and everything you need to get around. You can also act as a pocket Wi-Fi for a minimal daily fee. The staff were always very friendly and helpful and there are a lot of easy eating options around the area. Only a 5 minutes walk to the Shinjo subway line to get anywhere in Kyoto and Osaka

We stayed for 2 nights in the “Hollywood room” with four single beds. If you don’t want / need fancy facilities such as gym, swimming pool, etc. then this apartment hotel is perfect, although the room was slightly smaller than I expected, in comparison to another Mimaru apartment hotel that we stayed in Tokyo. The location is really good as you could walk 25 min to the Kyoto train station (even with luggage, although some of the footpaths are quite narrow), or catch the #50 bus, or take the train. It’s also a short walk to the main shopping strip.

It is very suitable for family travel. The counter staff is lovely and enthusiastic. They not only provide much important information but also willing to share hotel resources with us. The room is very amazing, spacious and simple in design. There are two toilets in the 6-person room and all the kitchen appliances.

Highly recommend to stay here with family
The rooms was quite large for an accommodation in Japan.Fits 4 adults and 2 children under 12 which kids can stay for free as long as using existing bed. Fully equipped Kitchenette. Air-con/heater/purifier. Carpet clean,beds comfortable slightly on the firm side but that's personal preference.Fully function toilets,you'll understand when you see it first hand.
Safe location, its actually an upmarket area. Station is only 5 minutes walk. The main station is where you can catch a bus to Nara to see the dear and temples. Amazing coffee shop at the station where the buses are. There is an upmarket deli, just walk through the coffee shop which is attached to book store which is also attached to deli.
Safe to walk at night however street could be a little bit more lit where the hotel is. Main road is brightly lit with convenience store for those little evening bites/snacks
Will defintely come back to this hotel on next trip back

We arrived in the lobby of Mimaru Kyoto Hotel in a rainy afternoon. A lady front officer (by the way, she is not Japanese) greeted us and kindly offered dry towels. Check-in was fast and easy. We were given a lovely traditional designed-room on the 3rd floor. Cooking utensils for Muslims are provided if needed.
Positive things: Our room is large, clean, and beautiful.
The staffs are very kind, friendly, and helpful.
The facilities are excellent.
The location is very good (within walking distance to Shijo station and bus stops).

We stayed here in December 2022, family of four, with two boys ages 8 and 13. This hotel was perfect for us. We had four twin beds and a spacious living room with a dining room table and a nice-sized kitchen. Regular housekeeping service, and there are always extra amenities in the lobby, such as shampoo, toothpaste, coffee, tea, etc. The staff spoke English very well and were welcoming. They even had a special surprise visit from Santa on Christmas Eve for the kids. There were lots of restaurants and markets in the neighborhood. The location was a bit far from the nearest subway station (8-10 minute walk), but I got the sense that Kyoto in general had fewer subway stations than Tokyo, so maybe that is typical. Still, very accessible. We would definitely stay here again.

We are a family of four adults and the room was big enough with the four single beds, though bag storage was limited. The kitchen/dining with the fridge and microwave area also worked well for us as a family. I would stay here again when travelling as a family and happily recommend Mimaru to anyone who asks.
This hotel is an easy walk, even with luggage, from transport. The staff were incredibly friend and had lots of good advice for us as first time travellers to Kyoto.
If you stay here make sure to visit the gyoza restaurant around the corner - they are the best we have ever had! The hotel staff can tell you where it is.

The apartment style Hotel is very new. Our deluxe room for 4 had 4 large single beds that is similar to queen size. We loved the comfortable beds and pillows. The room was a studio concept and very spacious. Especially loved the bathroom with a bath tub and rain shower and toilet.

The family room we stayed in was light, airy and spotless. I liked that it seemed a little contemporary while still having elements of traditional decor like slide across slatted windows and doors. We actually had two teenagers with us and they were very content with the bunk bed which had a little light and usb wall charge point for each bed.
Staff at the front desk went over and above to assist us with getting taxis, advice on sites to visit, restaurants and even with collecting and forwarding an item that I had accidentally left in a restaurant, in another city! I cannot thank them enough. This was exceptional service. Our two nights stay was thoroughly enjoyable and I would happily have stayed longer!
