Modeled after its predecessors, the hotel's interior features rich wood tones as well as vivid marine colors to represent its unique location between the Rokko Mountain range and Osaka Bay inlet.

Beautiful hotel with good location. There were a few areas that could use improvement. Breakfast was pretty good, less variety than other hotels I've stayed at, but definitely adequate. However, service was very slow and sometimes not at all when it came to serving coffee. No English channels on the tvs--they have CNN available but it is dubbed over in Japanese. The room was very nice and a good size and they provide more amenities than any other hotel I've been in, including hair brush, shaving cream, toothbrushand body wash towel. Nice location is quiet area of luxury shopping. Also, the steakhouse was great.

Absolutely perfect stay Room was clean and new and everything works Room service was meticulous- they clean every day, gave 4 bottles of water and turn down service every night without fail Incredible service level The room rate is not cheap but I had paid more for a room with less satisfactory service Restaurants here are pricey but the food was excellent and service impeccable Less than 10 mins walk to Saanomiya shopping area and 5 mins walk to Daimaru and Chinatown. And 15 mins walk can get you to the Kobe Port area Highly recommended

I didn't know that this is the oldest hotel in Japan!! But it was rebuilt after the earthquake, so the interior is beautiful, and old photos are used to create an old feel. There are also two photos of Marilyn Monroe on display, and although I've seen these photos before, I don't think they were taken at the hotel.
I stayed in an executive room with a free minibar, but the two bottles of wine and two mini bottles that were previously there in the official website photos are no longer there. It's true that you can't drink it all in one day, but it seems a bit sad for people staying multiple nights. There are still old photos on other sites.
Dinner was I had the seasonal course, and was satisfied with both the quality and quantity. In particular, while the bread is mostly freshly baked and piping hot, this one was cold but salty, which strangely matched the food, and I thought that this might be okay.
For breakfast, French toast is only available to order. I thought that it might be too late since it was past 7:30, but it was fine. This varies quite a bit depending on the hotel, so you won't know until you try it. I was satisfied.
The only disappointment was that the museum next door was closed, so instead I wandered around Chinatown. Also, parking is free for guests, but be careful with large cars as they may scrape against corners.

From Saturday, he stayed at Junior Sweet King with his wife and daughter. I use it about once a year, but this is my first time using it. The price is higher than a regular room, but much cheaper than a hotel of the same grade in Kyoto! Enter the room and go through the hallway to the spacious living room. There is a huge TV and sofa. A large line desk adjoins the sofa. This is surprisingly good and makes a good place to drink when you have a supper on the sofa. The living room has an ocean view. Bedroom next to the living room. There is also a sofa and TV for one person, so I could not compete with my daughter for channels w ocean and mountain views. You can see all the landmarks of Kobe such as Kobe Port Tower, Hotel Okura and Ferris wheel next to Mosaic. The lights are on until about 33 o'clock, so you could enjoy the night view slowly even after dinner. Incidentally, drinks in the refrigerator in the room are free. Both soft drinks and alcohol are very substantial. Probably because it is a suite, there are sparkling wines and so on, and it is replenished daily. Bathroom is a circular view bath + shower booth with rain shower. It goes without saying that the night view is the best when you enter the night. Breakfast is as good as ever. There was a problem with the seats that were shown to us being filled, but the response was very smooth, and I was impressed. Everyone, including the kitchen, was greeted as they entered and exited the restaurant, and the service was very pleasant. Terrace seating is less crowded and quieter, so if the weather is good, this one might be a good choice. My business is a full buffet, but when I sit down I order an omelette/egg Benedict/French toast. It's freshly made, so they're all delicious, but I definitely recommend French toast. It has a crispy batter and I like the texture. It can be sold out, so it's a good idea to go early. The buffet corner is also delicious, just about every dish. The best of these are freshly made croquettes and curry bread, salmon roe rice and Oriental curry. I've repeated it many times, and the reason is not the hardware, but the staff's service. I also love hardware, but I'm very happy that you've been so responsive and that such a hotel is located in my hometown of Kansai. Along with the Ritz-Carlton Kyoto and Hotel The Mitsui, it is one of the highly recommended hotels in the Kansai region!

We splashed out on our last three nights in Japan by staying at the Oriental but it was honestly a very reasonable price compared to Australian hotels. I had a very good deal from booking.com which gave us a king room with a harbour view on the 11th floor. The room was spacious and very well equipped with everything you could possible want. And checkout was 12 noon which was fantastic. My only complaint was that the reception staff couldn't find our booking for the first five minutes which was very disconcerting especially seeing I had booked it six months before. The hotel is in an amazing area of up market stores but the shopping arcades aren't far away for reasonably priced food etc. We caught a taxi from Shin Kobe but there are subway stations close by and Sannomiya station isn't too far away either.

Magnificent hotel in the heart of the business district of Kobe. Very traditional style Japanese rooms. Low bedding, shower room, turn down service, slippers, pajamas supplied, etc. We also had FREE mini bar which was quite unusual - very few hotels off free mini bar. Nothing was too much of a problem. Staff overly accommodating. Reception was on the top floor - 19th floor - which again I had never experienced. This hotel is definitely 5 star and would suit the most discerning guest.

we spent two days in the hotel and we were very impressed, from the lobby, which had stunning porcelain to the reception, which is located on the top floor and has a beautiful view of the harbor and the surrounding area. The rooms are really spacious and traditionally equipped. breakfast - excellent cuisine and luxurious view. We will definitely come back here!

We stayed here for 2 nights in late April. The hotel is located only 1 km from the cruise terminal and 1 km from Sannomiya Station. Upon entering the room my wife and I were both quite impressed with the size of the room and the quality of the room appointments. We were on the 10th floor and the view of the harbors was great. The staff were very friendly. My only issue was that the breakfast, while quite good, was on the pricey side (¥4000 pp). Unfortunately we did not find many other options nearby unless you wanted to get some things at the Family Mart across the street). If in Kobe again, I would definitely stay here

The hotel oozes luxury and great service, starting with the awesome view on the 17th floor Reception to the relatively large sized rooms and the well thought of toiletries. However, am quite disappointed at the spread for the buffet breakfast which has limited choices although the made-to-order French Toast was quite yummy. Also, there maybe plumbing issue as I was on the lowest room floor (#8) as I could constantly hear water draining in the pipes when someone in the upper rooms are showering (??unsure??). The saviour was a purchase of the yummy Basque Cheesecake, which was still good after I had it in my hand carry for a 6hr flight post being semi eaten!

Stayed a couple of nights in this Hotel on our recent trip to Japan and it was the best of the lot.
From the moment you are greeted at reception on the 17th Floor the service you get is excellent at this hotel.
The room was a good size and the 3 of us had enough room. It was very clean with a great bathroom and a wonderfully powerful shower. The supplied cotton pyjamas were so good we ended up buying a set to take away.
The breakfast was very good, a standard buffet with Japanese items available as well. Plus its the only breakfast I've had where sparkling wine was available.
The terrace bar is also based on the 17th floor and has a great view of the city and a good selection of Japanese whiskeys and cocktails. We had dinner one night at the steakhouse which served us with the best Wagyu beef we had in Japan.
If we are in Kobe again we will stay in this hotel. The staff were very attentive and always did their best to please us and the quality of the accommodation and the food was excellent.
