Beautiful hotel with good location. There were a few areas that could use improvement. Breakfast was pretty good, less variety than other hotels I've stayed at, but definitely adequate. However, service was very slow and sometimes not at all when it came to serving coffee. No English channels on the tvs--they have CNN available but it is dubbed over in Japanese. The room was very nice and a good size and they provide more amenities than any other hotel I've been in, including hair brush, shaving cream, toothbrushand body wash towel. Nice location is quiet area of luxury shopping. Also, the steakhouse was great.

We stayed here for 2 nights in late April. The hotel is located only 1 km from the cruise terminal and 1 km from Sannomiya Station. Upon entering the room my wife and I were both quite impressed with the size of the room and the quality of the room appointments. We were on the 10th floor and the view of the harbors was great. The staff were very friendly. My only issue was that the breakfast, while quite good, was on the pricey side (¥4000 pp). Unfortunately we did not find many other options nearby unless you wanted to get some things at the Family Mart across the street). If in Kobe again, I would definitely stay here

The hotel oozes luxury and great service, starting with the awesome view on the 17th floor Reception to the relatively large sized rooms and the well thought of toiletries.
However, am quite disappointed at the spread for the buffet breakfast which has limited choices although the made-to-order French Toast was quite yummy.
Also, there maybe plumbing issue as I was on the lowest room floor (#8) as I could constantly hear water draining in the pipes when someone in the upper rooms are showering (??unsure??).
The saviour was a purchase of the yummy Basque Cheesecake, which was still good after I had it in my hand carry for a 6hr flight post being semi eaten!

We splashed out on our last three nights in Japan by staying at the Oriental but it was honestly a very reasonable price compared to Australian hotels. I had a very good deal from booking.com which gave us a king room with a harbour view on the 11th floor. The room was spacious and very well equipped with everything you could possible want. And checkout was 12 noon which was fantastic. My only complaint was that the reception staff couldn't find our booking for the first five minutes which was very disconcerting especially seeing I had booked it six months before. The hotel is in an amazing area of up market stores but the shopping arcades aren't far away for reasonably priced food etc. We caught a taxi from Shin Kobe but there are subway stations close by and Sannomiya station isn't too far away either.

Magnificent hotel in the heart of the business district of Kobe. Very traditional style Japanese rooms. Low bedding, shower room, turn down service, slippers, pajamas supplied, etc. We also had FREE mini bar which was quite unusual - very few hotels off free mini bar. Nothing was too much of a problem. Staff overly accommodating. Reception was on the top floor - 19th floor - which again I had never experienced. This hotel is definitely 5 star and would suit the most discerning guest.

we spent two days in the hotel and we were very impressed, from the lobby, which had stunning porcelain to the reception, which is located on the top floor and has a beautiful view of the harbor and the surrounding area. The rooms are really spacious and traditionally equipped. breakfast - excellent cuisine and luxurious view. We will definitely come back here!

Stayed a couple of nights in this Hotel on our recent trip to Japan and it was the best of the lot.

From the moment you are greeted at reception on the 17th Floor the service you get is excellent at this hotel.

The room was a good size and the 3 of us had enough room. It was very clean with a great bathroom and a wonderfully powerful shower. The supplied cotton pyjamas were so good we ended up buying a set to take away.

The breakfast was very good, a standard buffet with Japanese items available as well. Plus its the only breakfast I've had where sparkling wine was available.

The terrace bar is also based on the 17th floor and has a great view of the city and a good selection of Japanese whiskeys and cocktails. We had dinner one night at the steakhouse which served us with the best Wagyu beef we had in Japan.

If we are in Kobe again we will stay in this hotel. The staff were very attentive and always did their best to please us and the quality of the accommodation and the food was excellent.

The night view is amazing! The staff are also very kind. They can speak English, so I don't have any problems even though I don't know anything about Japanese. They also introduced us to some delicious restaurants nearby. The room is spacious enough compared to other hotels I've stayed at in Japan. Everything is great and I have no complaints.

Great location- can walk to shopping and restaurants, nice rooms and clean. We had a suite which was amazing but the mattress was like sleeping on plywood-hard and extremely uncomfortable. Nice amenities, mini bar was included. Nice bar area with great drinks! Would stay again

This is a beautiful top class exclusive hotel and among the best I have stayed in. Very clean and comfortable but what sets it aside is the classy colonial interior design reflecting the heritage of the original hotel and its trading port history. The staff are excellent. I don’t write reviews too often but I need to remind myself where I had the tastiest French toast ever should I be lucky enough to be here again. Well located with views to the mountain and the sea. Five star experience. Perfect place to dress up for the outstanding dining experience.
