Its a castle with little hobbit houses! U kiddkng me? That's reason enough to go. Food was good, staff was solid, the grounds were beautiful, the views from the place were outstanding. Good for all ages too. Super social atmosphere for the young backpacker type crowd, but individual two person bungalows are great for those that have worked far too long to share a dorm room. Only possible negatives are that its a outside the central area (about a 5-7 min drive), so if you want to be in walking distance to the bars/restaurants, that's more difficult. But the property has really good food and drinks on site.
Staff was very friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable and their food and drinks very tasty. I stayed in both private cabin and later inside the Bungalow for an entire week. The swimming pool and Jacuzzi worked perfectly. The Wifi was spotty in the rooms but quite stable in the terrace with the incredible views to the volcano.
We spent two nights in one of the hobbit homes at Bambuda Castle and had a fabulous stay. There are so many “attention to detail” little things that made it wonderful. The restaurant, hot tub and grounds were all magnificent. Great getaway!
There aren’t enough words to do justice to the wonderful time we had at Bambuda. We stayed for four weeks - over the holidays, remote working in the new year & in the midst of a pandemic. We couldn’t have picked a better spot! The views are exceptional, the staff is warm & helpful, and the chef is genius! The castle & the hobbit homes are quirky in all the best ways - everywhere you look is charm & natural beauty. So much thought & love went into the design of converting this unique space into a world-class hostel! Major props to Ely, Carlos, Herminio (sp?), and Chef Wilmer who took excellent care of us. We feel like we are leaving with new friends along with our happy memories. Gracias!
As soon as were allowed to travel after 7 months COVID lockdown in Panama, we couldn’t wait to visit Boquete. My boyfriend found Bambuda Castle on the Internet and told me that “It has tiny Hobbit rooms for rent”. As we were not sure, we booked for a night but ended up staying for five nights. Not only Ely (Manager?) and Carlos (Bartender?) were so kind and helpful but also our room (superior bungalow) was spotlessly clean. I saw that the cleaning guy wears a head-lamp when he cleans the rooms. We loved the view of the Baru Volcano from the hotel. The only problem for us, was that the Bambuda restaurant was still closed because the COVID Lockdown had just lifted. We made simple meals in the common kitchen though. We didn’t have a chance to use the swimming pool and the Jacuzzi. They looked very nice and clean. We found new friends while staying in Bambuda. We plan to visit again early next year for Volcan Baru hiking, which we were not able to do this time. I highly recommend Bambuda Castle.…
