I stayed at the Fairfield 2 weeks ago to attend my father’s funeral.
I was very impressed with the great customer service and the comfort and cleanliness of the room and hotel.

The shuttle bus picked me up within 10 minutes of my arrival and the driver was extremely polite and personable.

The front desk staff went above and beyond to assist me with all my needs and allowed me to check into my room early.

The breakfast area was neat and clean and the food was very good.

It’s a great location and very close to the airport.

This is a fine hotel, quiet and everything, but is just beginning to go through renovations, so there will certainly be some modernizing as I've seen done at other Fairfield Inn's. The daily breakfast begins a little later than I'm accustomed to (6:30 a.m. on weekdays) and so I missed those due to work schedule. It's located in an area that has several stores restaurants that are within walking distance. The shuttle is very reliable in case you need to use it. Stayed there for 4 nights and had a pleasant stay.

My fiancé and I stayed at this property to avoid a long drive home after attending an engagement party in the area. I see some of the other reviews mention a smaller parking lot which is accurate (but really what do you expect in Queens?) but we had zero issue getting a spot. The moment we stepped into the lobby we noticed that it was warm, welcoming, and even smelled pleasant! The front desk gentleman was kind courteous and professional. The room itself was exactly what I expect from a Marriott- clean, and accommodating! My fiancé was especially impressed with the very sleek and modern shower, which I believe had been updated since the last time we stayed. Overall our stay albeit short was very pleasant. We felt very welcomed and comfortable and slept wonderfully as we always do at a Marriott property. We also happened to meet the General Manager as we were checking out, who was very warm, professional and courteous to us.

First of all, to be fair, the hotel was under no obligation to check us in before the normally scheduled time. However, here's the sequence of events. Before returning our rental car, I thought it would be more convenient to drop off my significant other and our baggage at the hotel. On arrival, the clerk told us the room wasn't quite ready but invited me to check in anyway. She directed me to a machine that didn't take my credit card chip in first, so I slid it and was accepted.
I even signed when completed. I then left to return the car, take the shuttle to the airport and have the motel shuttle take me back. Almost immediately after leaving, my significant other messaged me that the room was ready. However, the lady clerk was gone and replaced by a guy who informed her that they needed my credit card before she could get the keys. When she told him we had already done that, he continued to insist that the card was needed before a key could be given. What????? In addition to having already done that, I had already used that card to make my reservations. Most hotels simply ask me if I want to keep that card for my final bill. AND in addition to that, I had received an email offer the day before offering to let me check in early. At any rate, that left my significant other guarding the bags in a very warm lobby. When I returned, I asked what went wrong. She had no explanation, so without raising a fuss, I simply went through the process again. Before going up to the room, I asked her about the shuttle to the airport. She told me it leaves every fifteen minutes. However, the next morning, we went down to the lobby before 5:30 hoping we could take that shuttle to the airport (our flight was 7:45). That clerk informed us that the shuttle doesn't begin its service until 6 a.m. and only leaves on the half hour. As we sit there waiting for 6, we hear another family tell a similar story...that the clerk had told them that while breakfast isn't served until 7, there would be something they could grab and go. The morning clerk said he knew nothing about that and...no there was nothing to grab and go.
Obviously, there is a huge communication breakdown amongst their staff. To add to the aggravation, since we had a lot of time to kill the afternoon before, we asked if we could play cards using one of the tables in the dining area. We were told no, that was off limits. Seriously, a hotel with no gathering space? We had just spent the previous 14 nights in hotels that surpassed our expectations, so this hotel was a major disappointment. Little things can add up to a huge frustration.

Let me just say that it was only because of the employees that I gave this hotel 2 stars. They went out of their way to try and help me but they just have a crappy hotel to work with. First, it said free parking online but they actually do charge(again the gentlemen at the desk honored the free parking after I showed him what I’d seen). The room was tiny, ac unit was noisy (they did fix that eventually), their TVs don’t work with Roku (again they tried their best to make it work) and no laundry. I’ve already booked a different hotel for me work trip next week. I appreciate the length that the employees went to and feel bad that they don’t have much to work with.

We stayed here for one night while attending the US Open Tennis Tournament. They really catered to those guests going to the tournament and I appreciated all those little touches. The best thing they did was offer a complimentary shuttle to and from the site of the tournament every hour. It was a huge help to avoid Uber costs and parking hassles. They also printed out a schedule of matches every morning to help you decide which matches to watch. Aside from the special things they did for the tournament I found the hotel to be the norm for a Fairfield. The breakfast they provided was way above average though with fresh pastries and breakfast sandwiches. The room was comfortable and quiet. I would highly recommend if you're needing to catch a flight to LaGuardia (shuttle provided for this as well) or are attending an event at Flushing Meadows. Great job.

We stayed here one night in between JFK and LaGuardia flights. Pros: The staff was excellent, very pleasant and professional. They took care of our special request. Breakfast started at 6:30 and had a selection of hot items, cereals and breads. LaGuardia shuttle runs on the half hour and it is 10 minutes away. Cons: Room was ok but could use a few updates, but was clean. Location is not ideal as it is located near a busy road and highway. Heard car horns honking and some road noise, not really a problem for our sleeping, but it may depend where your room is. Food is an issue as there really wasn't much within walking distance and perhaps not being that comfortable with the neighborhood. The staff gave us a recommendation for Italian food which arrived within 30 minutes and was quite good.

The absolute worst staff. The front desk is nothing but immature, rude unknowledgable UNPROFESSIONALS! And when management comes to help it’s even worse. The way that one manager they have speaks so ghetto and rude is unbelievable. I have complete turned my back on Marriott because of this location. They are disgustingly rude I can’t deal with people talking all street to me talking down to me when I’m right. They will not help you at all and if you ever walk up to the front desk you hear these so called professionals talking in slang and cursing. Who walks upto the front desk to hear the agents talking about weed and how handsome a guest is. I’m disgusted. Fire your staff and hire real professionals. This is disgusting!! And for your info this is America if I can’t speak to someone who speaks English I don’t have to learn Spanish just to communicate with your staff. Rooms are nasty! Leaks in sink nose from their rooms seems it’s housekeeping or whatever and they do not care. They will completely ignore you. And you pay so much for one night. I have so much to say but I’m done. Christine is ghetto do better Marriott. And Elizabeth please don’t act all nice when your ignorant. Disgusting staff!

I have stayed at this hotel many times and the service is terrible at the front desk in the afternoon and evening. I only continue to stay because it’s for my work. I am about to recommend we all stay elsewhere. The maid service is terrible. They don’t serve breakfast until too late for business travelers and I asked for a plate and/ or bowl and was told by front desk they don’t have any. Lazy and unprofessional staff!

This hotel is a joke. My family booked the hotel room here, they canceled the room without giving us a call or notification. Extremely rude staff. Avoid at any cost. Such a painful experience. The staff was rude and they were not willing to help.

You might want to consider a Lyft "Line" ride where they can pick up another customer...will cut your cost in half. Not a bad deal and can make for fun conversation!

We did not actually park there, but it looked like a great option and, when we stay again we might use their parking. The area was fairly small, but I know they do book many people who fly into LaGuardia, so it may have space available. I would talk with people at the hotel, they were extremely helpful. The area seemed reasonably safe, we walked quite a bit around the area.
