If you ever want to go to Maldives (or any country for that matter) you should be looking experience the local way of life with locals.. in resorts as Maldives is famous for it will be same as in any where in the world.. you will spend a lot and do same things you can do if you stay in a local place among friendly and helpful locals..
AT Mariana inn we had the best ever holiday.. and we never expected it to be so amazing..
Very friendly staff.. helpful and pleasant locals.. clean and comfortable rooms and of course good food..
2 minutes walk to the beach and you will see sharks, rays and many types of reef fishes even from the beach..
Staff can arrange various other activities for you too.
Every tree in the village has hammocks and you can relax in any of them as you wish.. No ATMs in the village but local shops accept cards.
You can walk around the whole island in 15 minutes.
Special thanks to Waseef for taking us to see Nurse sharks and the great photos and videos and Mahmoud and the Guys for Food and other services at the hotel.
Hoping to see you again for a longer stay!
Highly recommend for everyone looking for authentic Maldivian holiday with the amazing Maldivian sea for a fraction of the prices you will pay at so called resorts!!!

It was a wonderful holiday at the Marian Inn!
Obviously with positive and negative points!
-lovely beach, fantastic sea, Guest house in very good condition, fantastic excursions, excellent cleanliness, very good value for money.
And finally fantastic staff: Watte is fantastic, prepared and very nice, a really good guy especially on excursions,
And even Russel was always polite kind and company in serving us every day!!
Cons: no shower at the beach, so you had to go back to the hotel to wash,
Deck chairs a bit dated and broken some,
And the food is what it is .. in the sense, we have never been bad, the food is also tasty, the problem is always the same and after two weeks it was already nauseating, you have to vary more the food you offer ..
A nice holiday overall!

I want to share a story. I’m not believe that something will changing and this person will suffer some kind of punishment, BUT GUESTS OF THIS HOTEL SHOULD TO KNOW. Please read till the end.
I stayed with my mom and my little daughter for 25 beautiful days on Gaafaru island, but not in this hotel. One day, the workers of this hotel prepared a birthday party for one of the guest on the tourist beach. It’s was Tables, balls, flowers, etc. these are balls began to scatter along the beach and fall into the ocean, burst and roll on the sand. We went , collected and return to them. I was nice and asked if we need to leave the beach when the guests are coming, we can do it and we actually did it, even though the beach is public.
Same day In the evening at 7-8pm we decided to come to the beach and try our luck, I know that you can see glowing plankton in the Maldives. What was my disappointment when, instead of a miracle of nature, I saw how this nature is polluted by people who were born there.
All the balls just floated in the water. I would collect them all, but in clothes and with 1.5 y.o baby on my hands it is not safe to go to the ocean at night.
At the exit from the beach, we met these guys, they were sitting on their bikes. I started with the words: “sorry guys, but there are all balls in the ocean” . They answered: “go swim and collect them ha ha." I said that this is not funny ...and already started go way to hotel and one if them big guy with curly hair said: “F*ck u And they repeated it 10 times. I asked why are you doing this? This is nature, this is beauty, we must protect it. And again I heard : “F*ck u” . I said that I would go to the police and take a photo of this guy. As soon as I took out the phone, he jumped off his bike, pulled out my phone very rudely, my daughter was so scared, she was sitting on my hands . I barely got my phone back. My hand still hurts. It was terrible and embarrassing . I was there alone without my husband and protection, my little daughter and my mother begged me not to go to the police, she was afraid for us.
And I understood that the police would not do anything ... on like this places all brothers and relatives.
And I tell this story when I am already at home in Dubai.

Chose this Guesthouse on Facebook, certainly the reviews do not reflect my reality. The holiday week ran from 13 February to 21 February 2024. As soon as we arrived on the island we were directed to another old Princess Inn Guesthouse, according to the coordinator in Italy there were no more rooms in the Mariana Inn Guesthouse. The room was very small and smelly, there was no support point and there was a small wardrobe where it was difficult to put clothes, there were no bedside tables, there was no fridge, but fortunately we had a window with a view just sea considering that in some rooms they had a view with an Ethernet roof and other rooms without windows which we had given the name of the cage. As far as eating was concerned it was repetitive and prepared hours in advance and therefore not easy to taste. For breakfast the usual eggs, questionable pancakes, chicken frankfurters, single-serving jams and good bananas. As for lunch and dinner there was the usual rice, noodle, the usual overcooked pasta, the usual chicken and fish cooked in a questionable way. A big problem was the overcrowding of guests which caused people to queue and not find the dishes. As for the excursions, they were very short as the organizers themselves tried to fit in the outings for the various groups. The excursions were known the evening before with sometimes absurd times (snorkelling at 2.00 pm after eating)...very nice staff but sometimes absent as they were busy with excursions and other matters. As regards the island of Gaafaru, the location was not the most beautiful... in some areas there was a lot of dirt... in conclusion, the holiday was just enough for the accommodation facility... excellent for the sea and nature... (the Maldives are always the Maldives)……this review is the result of my experience (in the past I have used excellent Guesthouses)….this time I must say as far as I am concerned there were some organizational problems…..the place was suitable for small groups and certainly not for 30/40 people....in life you have to be satisfied, you risk seeing people who are not happy...this is my opinion which aligned with 6 other couples who were in the same period...of which two went away to the famous resorts...CONCLUSION FINAL: GUARANTEED SAVINGS BUT GREAT SPIRIT OF ADAPTATION... SO WHEN YOU LOOK FOR THESE SOLUTIONS IN MY OPINION YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO READ THE REVIEWS CAREFULLY...

I had read dozens of reviews before leaving and they all reassured me about the choice I had made, Angelica's professionalism supported even more the feeling of having made the right choice: it was the best holiday of my life! The bride is now suffering from chronic maldivitis and is already thinking of replying.
I can only confirm every nice word or feeling that everyone expressed about the location, the staff, the excursions, about Angelica, whose praises I had praised from the plane before leaving: trust upon trust.
My special thanks goes to Waatte, who with his videos gave me memories that I will always carry with me: I will find a way to thank him!

Absolutely avoid. Poorly managed guest house. Island full of garbage. An open-air landfill in the middle of a sea of exceptional beauty. No respect for the earth that is trampled on every day. People on the island are shy (except children and fishermen)

Just returned from 12 days in the Maldives in this guesthouse.
The structure is decidedly very basic: basic room with bed and a micro-wardrobe (keep everything in your suitcase if you go there), no livable balcony but only a wooden railing, no fridge and a discreet bathroom (smelly water caused by problems with the sewer system of the 'island...hopefully it's only been bad for us in this period).
The food is very limited (4 dishes in rotation for the entire period and very little fruit because in that area it seems to be a real luxury).
Even if the structure could have been acceptable given the low price, what we were very disappointed about was the condition of the island (this is not to be attributed to the structure but to those who should have at least notified us)...the island is nothing else than a large landfill with a small beach dedicated to tourists.
It is clear that there are disposal problems in the Maldives but here we are talking about a good 70% of the island!
It breaks our hearts to talk like this but if one of the 2 things had been above the level of acceptability we could have overlooked it.
Excursions are included but note that they last 2 or 3 hours and not the full day.
After 7 days in this guesthouse and on this island we decided to change our mood and moved south of the Maldives to end our holidays in another context.
I sincerely hope that those who go after us take the necessary information before the trip and decide based on how much adaptability they have.

We have just returned from 8 wonderful days spent at the Mariana Inn. We had booked through Angelica who runs the Instagram page "Your Maldives in Guesthouse". From the first approaches when choosing flight times and subsequent booking, Angelica proved to be a competent person and always ready to answer any questions. Even when we arrived on site, although Angelica was not present in GH, she was always available at any time for any of our requests even if in reality there was no need as the guys who run it are nothing short of perfect. A commendation to Ahmed, Rasel, Waatte and all the others
All always discreet but omnipresent to satisfy every guest request.
The food was excellent and with a wide choice, based on typical local ingredients. Pasta was always available every day (impeccably cooked)
Clean and functional room equipped with shower and beach towels.
What about Waatte? A tornado of positivity accompanied us on all the excursions with great competence and which allowed us to see many fish that to our eyes as "citizens" we would not have been able to see in the wonderful seabed.
Gaafaru is a small and quiet island that gives the opportunity to live among the Maldivians
Bikini beach reachable on foot in 2 minutes, equipped with sunbeds and shade
It was a wonderful experience that we highly recommend and that we will definitely do again.
Well done to all the staff... Keep up the good work

12 days of Maldives, 12 days of Gaafarui at the Mariana Inn... what can I say beyond what has already been written in abundance by most... being lucky enough to spend these days here does not mean having a holiday with the Maldivian people... but living as a Maldivian in a place where Mariana Inn means “Home”.
I won't spend too much time describing the fantastic excursions with Waatte, the tasty dishes prepared by Bilal, or how Rasel and Alom satisfy every request or the omnipresent Angelica who manages your stay perfectly, I will conclude by saying that I have left a part of my heart here .
Thank you all for a wonderful holiday.
