Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

"Girls have big dreams"
and just like the song "Le tose" said, they finally fulfilled their great dream of seeing the Maldives. 9 of us did it, some already friends, others who became friends immediately after, choosing that winning guest house formula that allowed us to experience it in the best possible way. Staying at the Mirian Sky Hotel on the island of Gaafaru, a very nice, clean and welcoming structure, equipped with all the necessary comforts, offered us the opportunity to experience first-hand the reality of pure Maldivian life. Serena and Simone are truly professionals both in their role as managers/organizers and tour guides and as true travel companions. It was like it was two of us. Not to mention the other guests with whom we shared every moment, starting from dinner on the beach, to the truly delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners, prepared and presented with simplicity and care by our talented and friendly Chef, to the accidental birthdays celebrated as if we were a real family, to the excursions experienced sharing the emotions that arose at the time and then reviewed in photos and videos (also and even by a special drone) which we then shared "passionately together". It was an unforgettable experience from all points of view, we saw the sun, the clouds, the rain, the calm and even a little rough sea and nothing stopped us from experiencing and enjoying the thousand shades of color of a real Paradise in Earth.
It's a shame for the "neglect" of some corners of the island, certainly not attributable to the organization of "Low Cost Maldives", but which is unfortunately part of the reality of local life, of people who perhaps have not yet understood the true value of those places that are immense for us and certainly worth protecting.

I gave myself some time before publishing a post with my impressions.
Many will look at the photos and think... what fun!
Others have asked me how the holiday went...
A trip is not a holiday but an experience, you leave with 0 expectations and return with a wealth of emotions.
The hardest part is going back to who you were and feeling tight in your reality, maybe you fit into who you think you are.
This is because on a trip you see other realities, you open your mind and when you come back you no longer want to be the same as before!
For me, this is the truest part of the Maldives where nature reigns supreme and therefore must be understood and respected.
Welcoming Guest Houses, always clean rooms, where even a family like ours with a one-year-old child has found serenity and tranquility without taking away space for excursions and fun.
Simone and Serena are two special people, always available and respectful towards not only their guests but all the guests on the island.
Open your mind!

P.S.
I don't want to take trips for the rich but trips full of emotions

Just returning from a fabulous holiday…. What can I say, everything is perfect in the welcoming, very clean guesthouse where, thanks to the chef, he alternates typical Maldivian dishes with international dishes, all truly excellent. The people of Gaafaru always welcome you with a smile and a greeting. The sea... we are in the Maldives so there is no need to explain... everything is truly perfect but the real icing on the cake is Simone and Serena. Truly fantastic guys, they follow you, they advise you, they make you feel like we've known each other all our lives, they make impossible things possible, they are STUNNING in the true sense of the word. Thank you truly from the bottom of my heart guys you deserve a lot of luck❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. We'll see you again soon 😉😉😉😉😘😘😘😘😘😘

First experience in a guesthouse, never to be repeated again. Island with a lot of rubbish scattered everywhere, even on the bikini beach, which does not at all conform to the presentation photos. The island does not offer any evening attractions, while the structure is well managed by an Italian couple.

Writing this review is not easy because from the moment of booking it was a succession of emotions, doubts, curiosities, until we arrive at Gaafaru and touch reality firsthand, and from there everything goes beyond all expectations... the island wonderful even in its imperfections, small but beautiful beach, the inhabitants are people from whom we have a lot to learn, those faces and those smiles that we will never forget, the guesthouse is simple, well-kept and clean... what makes it special are Serena, Simone and Immi who manage everything very well even down to the smallest details, always present but not burdensome. But compliments also go to the chef, very good at pleasing adults and children, friendly and always smiling, as are Malindo and Maia... well done guys, you are a really good team!!! Let's move on to the excursions, all beautiful, with competent staff ready to let even those who don't know how to swim dive into the water because they convey serenity and want no one to miss the thrill of swimming with sharks, turtles and dolphins. We stayed for a week, but when we left we realized that we would have really liked to stay a few more days, we left something unfinished there and we hope to return soon because the Maldives pain really exists!!! Thanks Gaafaru, thanks to everyone at Mirian Sky, you have won us over.. see you soon!!!

Hello to all the Maldives low cost staff, first of all we wanted to say thank you for these days spent with you, it was wonderful!!!! You shared with us one of the most important moments of our lives, the one in which our dream comes true... That dream we felt inside since we heard about organizing our holidays. It's not easy to explain, but when in the weeks before the trip you wake up every morning and your first thought goes to them (the Maldives) and you repeat to yourself "come on, our time will come, your place is there", and you feel all the sometimes you get butterflies in your stomach, then it's official, you really have Maldives sickness. Here you truly understand the values of life and what the important things are, not to mention the colors of the indescribable sea to explain and the nature that lies beneath. We swam with sharks, saw dolphin rays and turtles. You Serena and Simone were with us in this realization…. We truly felt like you were a family, always present and available both on the magnificent excursions and for daily life on the island. How much we will miss the chef's dishes, how much we will miss the excursions with you, your teamwork and the thousand laughs with the other guests now become friends. Everything about you will remain indelible within us with the hope of seeing you again as soon as possible!! THANK YOU SO MUCH and “philusts”

We returned a few days ago from a wonderful holiday spent at the Burulu Inn, on the island of Gaafaru! 😍
It wasn't just a simple holiday, but above all a fantastic experience!! Serena and Simone are wonderful people, they took care of us from the first moment and were always available for any need!
Staying in the guesthouse was truly a pleasant experience because it allowed us to meet other people and share moments of the day with them. The structure, in its simplicity, is very welcoming and has all the necessities. Excellent food and for this we once again thank the legendary Chef Dana who made us taste local specialties every day!! 👨🏽‍🍳
Not to mention the excursions that will leave you breathless, especially the one with sharks! 🦈

One of the things we appreciated most? That on this trip we wore our favorite dress: simplicity.
Living a week on a local island, with the locals, meeting kind and welcoming fishermen and walking around in slippers all the time is priceless!
We recommend this holiday to all people who really want to experience the authentic Maldives!
We can say we did it and we left a piece of our heart there! 💓
Thanks Serena and Simone!

I have dreamed of a trip to the Maldives for a long time. Choosing a guest house was a winning choice from all points of view. Everything was fantastic. Family atmosphere, clean rooms. Excellent location. Serena and Simone follow you step by step so you don't miss anything. Mister chef delights you with Italian/Maldivian dishes. You become one with the people who share your holiday week with you. Live every moment fully. The inhabitants of the island always have a smile and a greeting to give you. A single family with whom to share everything. You are not in a resort but nothing is missing for a perfect holiday. I can't wait to rearrange the trip. I already miss everything.

I spent 40 years saying that I never wanted to go to the Maldives because on a piece of sand there is nothing to do🤔.... and 1 week after returning I have Gaafaru’s disease🫣.
The island of Gaafaru is a journey in the journey there is no luxury and pomp.... the real luxury lies in simple and out of the ordinary things: abandoning shoes and walking barefoot, being woken up at 4 am by the call of prayer of the mosque (the first night I popped then was the way to mark time), abandoning the internet connection and finding it only in the few moments spent in the Guest house, the colors of sunrise, sunset, and water in all shades of blue, the scent of unknown flowers and foods never tasted, the investigative looks of the population on the first day transformed into sweet smiles and incessant greetings.... and then the constant loving presence of Serena and Simone driving on earth but also the sea in wonderful snorkeling outings in addition to the fragrant and succulent meals of the chef (fried chicken and unforgettable lentil curry). A wonderful week that I will carry in my best memories. The structure is simple and basic, very clean, intimate and familiar.

Thank you very much ❤️

Stayed here for 9 nights, beach is beautiful and private, during our stay we often had the beach to ourselves, we were provided with a Beach bbq during our stay as we opted for full board (this is highly recommended as the food is very very good) we also took part in excursions provided by Immi, these were excellent value, ask Immi for his various excursion packages as there is a variety of options. We did the night fishing and caught plenty including barracudas and red snapper, we actually ate our catch the following day which was cooked for us by the chef Mohammed (also his home made puddings are to die for)
We also did a snorkeling trip to a ship wreck again very very good, we swam with turtles on another trip, visited a stunning sandbar, used the canoe to go around the gorgeous crystal clear blue sea by the beach.
During our stay here there was another couple who had a stunning wedding ceremony on the beach too, beautiful to witness especially at sundown.
We really wanted a chilled time and that’s exactly what we got staying here, very comfortable room with tv which was welcomed as nothing to do in the evening.
Wifi wasn’t strong but it worked with a little patience, it’s the same on the whole island.
The island is very small, it’s nice to see the locals getting on with their everyday life, it’s unspoiled.
I would definitely recommend staying here and ask any questions to Immi as he’s very helpful.
We hope to return one day.
