The hotel offers standard capsule accommodation. Centrally located near the waterfront with many shops, malls, restaurants and bars around it.
The hotel is safe and very clean.
Basic breakfast available. Great views from the huge window in the common area from where you can watch the sun setting.
Very nice and friendly staff.
Worth mentioning WiFi was not available in the some of the rooms, so if you get one of these you need to go to the reception area to connect.
Also no use of the TV mounted in the capsule since there was no internet connection available.
Lockers not working, however there is a safebox where you can store your valuables in each capsule.

Nice to stay at Seaview Capsule Hotel in Kota Kinabalu after hard day trekking the Kinabalu mount. The staff very friendly, the owner very kind and he can a bit speak Thai language. Capsule type is clean and quite new but moderate quality for sleep.
Good view from the lobby and overall is happy.

a) Amazing location and view:
-Sea in the horizon with splendid sunset.
-1.8km (~ 15-20 minutes walk from jessleton point: Harbour for all water sports and island tours)
- City market at a stone's throw

b) Inadequate breakfast: Breakfast offered is same all days : Bread (access to toaster) and coffee.

c) Room service: Each room has 8 capsules. Each capsule serves a space capsule size room for 1 person/ 1 couple. Price & size of capsule would vary dependent on the latter. It has a TV option but it is pretty useless unless you would want to watch a korean movie/series. No locker rooms available which was a disappointment. Carry your own towels as they charge around 3RM for it.

d) Spick and span : The place is perfectly in order and forbids outside footwear to be taken to rooms. They provide pair of flipflops to be used through the hostel.

e) Genial Staff/host: The staff is very helpful and available 24*7. They would be happy to assist you with information on tour packages, rental services & advise on transportation modes.

When we stayed a two person size capsule was at 101RM+ taxes.
Tax was 10% in 2018

There is a similar theme hostel right adjacent to it which is much better in experience and food and relatively cheaper by around 20 RM per night.

This promised to be a great place unfortunately it is the complete opposite. My room door wouldn’t lock when we asked reception staff they just shrugged and said it’s broken fullstop no solution / apology nothing!
2) The lockers for your bags are ALL broken so there is no where outside the pod to store your belongings.
3) No one knows how to change the temperature in the pods so it is stuck at 30 degrees celsius! Again asked staff they just said it’s broken.
4) The staff sit at the desk watching tv shows on their laptop with the shows playing full volume and don’t even use headphones which means you have to sit through hours of the voice playing over their speakers the entire time!
5) The rooms are literally on top of the reception area so you have to be woke. By the door buzzer going all hours and the reception staff either speaker phone calling their friends or their tv shows blasting forth! See the photo attached to see how close they are .

Literally worst place I’ve ever stayed. The space capsule on the other side of it however is amazing and if where we ended up moving too.

I don't usually write reviews but this place has been exceptionally awful so I feel I have to. Hostel world doesn't allow enough characters for a review to vent my disappointment...

Do not waste your time staying here!

1) The staff are incredibly rude and unhelpful with the exception of one lady who unfortunately I can't remember the name of.

2) Half of the stuff is broken. My capsule wouldn't lock and my locker was broken too (along with half the lockers in the whole Hostel). I asked at reception if I could be given a different locker or for them to fix my capsule as I needed to be able to lock my things away. The girl at reception genuinely laughed at me and said it would be fine. Ok, so you'll take responsibility if my things go missing then?! After I pushed and pushed she eventually moved me to a different capsule.

3) they advertise that you can borrow a towel. On the first night I managed to get one but in the morning it had been taken (presumably by staff to do washing). I asked for another and the same girl behind reception laughed and said they didn't have any. Helpful. Don't take the towel I initially borrowed then...
They also don't even bother apologise. They just look at you and laugh and smile like you're an idiot.
I asked again on my last morning for a towel and again I get laughed at and told they have none. Again, very helpful.
Don't offer a service that you cannot deliver.

4) it is SO noisy. The capsules block out zero sound. Every time someone opens their door in a capsule around you, you will be woken up! They're very loud. And just general noise in the morning from people walking about and talking will wake you.

5) the staff are basically useless. It's a bunch of youngish girls who sit around on their phones playing loud music or films. They don't greet you when you arrive. They are not behind the desk half the time.
This morning I stood at reception for two minutes before the girl raised her head and looked at me to help. She literally just sat there with her other staff mate ignoring me. I was baffled.

Basically it is a waste of time staying here. The staff are the rudest I have ever come across. The Wi-Fi is awful. The common area has zero atmosphere. The breakfast is rubbish. The capsules are noisy. Everything is broken.

This place is bad. I slept better and more securely on the bus here. The capsules are not fit for purpose, with broken air con and broken door locks. The baggage lockers are broken too. It is cooler outside the capsule, so to sleep without being baked the door needs to be open. The toilets and showers don’t appear to have been properly cleaned for a very long time. The staff are surprised that anyone would expect anything to work, and are not helpful. Now I see reviews saying similar things from 6 years ago, I am amazed this place has continued to operate at such a poor standard for so long. There are plenty of better alternatives nearby.

No towel provided, no shower gel provided. The air circulation that I get of the room are too bad. Quite expensive compare the Space Cap hotel which cheaper nicer and the environment are better.it is expensive and not in my expectation!
