The hotel is amazing. Clean, conveniently situated and friendly staff. Checking in was quick. They even upgraded us for our first visit to Penang. The room was beautiful and spacious, with a huge shower. Awesome and modern 24 hour gym and pool ideally situated on the 25th floor, allowing guests to experience the amazing views. The breakfast buffet is big and gives guests many options, western and Malaysian. The central location allowed for amazing walks around Georgetown, as well as quick access to gama mall and Komtar. From Komtar one can easily take the free CAT bus or any of the other buses. Most maps and guides give tourists an indication of how to travel. But the best part of the hotel is Chow Ee Fern. She is a wonderful woman who runs the convenience shop in the hotel. We could purchase tickets for the Hop on Hop off bus for a city tour, she gave awesome advice about where to go and how to get there cheaply. Even where to eat. Her advice made our time in Penang amazing, as we could get to see most places on a budget. She was even awesome enough to offer to take our laundry for us at the laundromat, something she did not have to do. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone. And would definitely want to return. Awesome stay and amazing service.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon. It took only about 10 mins to get here from the ferry terminal. Our room was a great size with a good view over the city. We enjoyed spending a lot of time on the 25th floor using the excellent rooftop pool. We walked about 20 mins to the famous ‘Love Lane’ to have some cocktails and hawker stand food. Only improvement would be to have eggs available at breakfast, overall for the price would recommend to anyone to stay here !

Staff are nice and friendly. The location is good, in walking distance about 10-15mins to town but we are using bicycle and the nearest linkbike is just about 5mins away. The shower is not good. Unevenly splash from the top and will cause overflow to other area. This is the only thing that really annoying me everyday.

After checking in and entering the room, found that washing basin was choked and that toilet light was dimmed (malfunctioned). Service Technician was sent to clear the choked washing basin by pumping but it was not successful, he needed to go back to his service room to take additional tools to dismantle and clear the basin's metal bottle trap. He subsequently spent two trips of about 45 minutes to rectify the dimmed toilet light of replacing the faulty "LED driver".
After several room door's closing and opening (due to the Service Technician's coming in and out), the room door became unable to open from inside (a safety concern since if there is a fire, the guest(s) inside can't open the door to escape) due to the self-loosening of an internal screw.
When the issues were reported to the Receptionist of taking longer than expected to rectify the issues, she responded that they have only one Service Technician at those times.
The above issues highlighted 1) the hotel is short-handed, 2) they do not have an effective preventive maintenance program and 3) the daily housekeeping staffs are not trained to perform basic lighting and washing basin checks in addition to the routine tidy-up jobs. They rely on guests' complaints to fix the issues.
If Hotel Management is serious to improve the services and guests experience, they can take the guests' reviews positively, or perhaps it is a waste of time for the guests to write a review.

Room was spacious, clean & comfy. Everything was great for the price we paid but the biggest issue we had was the noise from pipes. Whenever our neighboring room guests use the bathroom (especially shower), the pipes creak & made extremely loud noises enough to wake you up from your sleep. My first encounter with the noise was quite unpleasant as I though the pipe was about to burst. Also, the shower alternates between extremely hot to extremely cold every 5 seconds (approximately) thus, making it hard to enjoy the shower / speed up the process of showering.

The staff were friendly and very accommodating with our requests. Location made it very convenient to explore Georgetown-- also you're right across the street from the Sunday pop-up market at Hin Bus Depot. The only problem we had is that you can hear loud music/celebrations from surrounding bars or festivities, which might be a problem for light sleepers.

The check in process took just few minutes and the luggage was transferred with the help of the staff there. The room was so comfortable with the view of the komtar building and city view. The bed was like heaven for me till I can't spent the night so good. The breakfast next day was fantastic.

The hotel was built in 2015. In 7 short years, it is certainly not well maintained. The carpet leading to my room was badly stained and no efforts to clean it. During our stay, the safe box did not work and a technician came twice and finally replaced the batteries. Also the door kept locking us out. Again discovered was battery problem. Also it is impossible to reach housekeeping if you need help. Must go to the reception which is usually manned by one staff. Security is lax as anymore can take the lift to your room. One good thing about this place is outside the hotel is a old coffee shop that sells good food at local prices. The mixed vegetable rice is a hit. It starts selling at about 0930. The toast bread stall outside the coffee also sells good toast. The Hor Fun stall is good also. The char kway teow stall is so so only. I ate there for 5 mornings. Coffee shop closes at 1430.

This hotel is very centrally located, only 5 minutes walking from Komtar and malls around it, like 1st Avenue & Prangin. Across the hotel there is Gama Dept Store to buy daily groceries and clothes. So satisfied!

I really don’t know. One suggestion: stay somewhere else. Even life in the hotel they are very bad at replying questions. They just don’t pay attention to their guests.

I think there are about 12 loungers and a couple of tables with 4 chairs. Parts of the roof terrace are in shade as the sun moves throughout the day. We managed to always get a lounger though and at least get a few hours of sun each day. If you want a day of poolside sun bathing you might be best getting a day pass to one of the hotels at Batu Ferringhi.
There are more places to choose from in the George Town area.
