A stunning hotel in the perfect location in Penang! Not in the middle of GeorgeTown, but in perfect walking distance- probably 10mins to the Jetty, 10mins to the start of the street art tour, and 10mins to the street food area. A great retreat of a spot to explore the city, but also enjoy a roof top pool/bar from when the city life gets too much!! The hotel itself is the most upto date, pristine hotel I stayed at during my time travelling. Modern; but has a unique charm. Thank you for providing me with the perfect start to my 3 week introduction / travels in Malaysia and Thailand.

I had initially booked 2 nights at the Eastern and Oriental (E&O) but discovered this gem of a hotel on the Marriott Bonvoy App. The first thing that caught my eye was the price. Although Google claimed that it was a 5 star hotel, it felt more like a 4.5 star hotel. The hotel is near the waterfront near Little India in Penang. Some of the famous places to eat are a 15-20 min walk away. Given that Grab is cheap and the taxis stop directly in front of the hotel, this is definitely a good place to be based in. The hotel room are largely spread over 3 floors and there are two lift lobbies to access the rooms. Check in was fast and efficient and I was briefed about breakfast. The rooms look good and but the shower area is bit wierd and you need to draw a curtain to prevent your room mate from watching you. The beds are comfortable and they have on-demand movies in the hotel rooms. The drinks in the mini bar ate free and I enjoyed the Malaysian candy in the glass jar. The gym on the 4th floor is small and functional. Breakfast was slightly disappointing but adaquate. Wish there were more western options etc but its Penang so trying local options are good. Anyway, the hotel tries very hard to please the guests and the staff make extra effort. I have really no regrets about staying here. The price and value for money are strong reasons why I would definitely consider staying here again. Kudos and well done!

Exceptional hotel in the heritage area of Georgetown. Large room with glass walled bathroom and everything you could possibly need. Ate in The Glasshouse for dinner, food was provided quickly and was good quality. Breakfast buffet was smaller than at some hotels in Malaysia but you could also order off the ‘egg’ menu. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Small but welcome rooftop pool.

Booked The Prestige for two nights after a long evening of surfing the internet - it didn't disappoint. The hotel is a short walk from the ferry wharf ... it was easier to walk than catch a grab (although would have reconsidered if we had heavy bags). Be aware that the walk is mainly unshaded - a consideration for very hot days. First impressions were good - the room was very clean (the hotel is new). Staff were friendly and checked us in an hour early. Nice selection of toiletries in the bathroom and a couple of coffee pods rather than instant. The standard room was slightly smaller than the normally large rooms in the Marriott chain but clever use of hanging space and a well-designed bathroom made it pretty comfortable for two. Bathroom had a filtered water tap and the TV streamed a wide selection of free movies (including recent releases). only glitch was the checkout. When we checked in, the hotel quarantined the cost of our stay plus a small deposit for additional expenses. Rather than return that small sum of money, the hotel charged us the final amount on checkout with the initial sum to be released by the bank within 14 days. This meant that, for a period after the stay, we would lose access to a fair sized chunk of money. Never experienced this before - a hotel not a bank issue. Overall the hotel was good value. Would stay again.

Service staff were extremely friendly and made check in seamless. Room was very nice and one of the best I stayed in south east asia for the sample price point, demonstrating value. As I drove this time, the free parking onsite then leads to carpark was very convenient. ismail made my day with the fast check in and after a long flight and drive it made the difference. Thank you! Will definitely chose and come again

From the moment we arrived, the Prestige was a joy. The reception team were incredibly, genuinely friendly. Really efficient and professional check in. Bags arrived at the room quickly and were delivered with a smile. The room and facilities were excellent. The housekeeping team were superb: thorough, professional and again really friendly. Bed was very comfortable, air con really good, decoration lovely. Fresh and very well maintained. Complimentary mini bar with soft drinks, beer : small carton of milk for the Nespresso coffee machine in room, which was a nice touch. Pool area on the roof is brilliant: great view and a variety of comfortable seating and sunbathing options. Pool bar operates from 3pm. Food offering good, breakfast had everything you want and food at other times is a nice mix of options. Again, great team running the restaurant. It's difficult to find fault with the prestige and we will be returning later this year. For us, definitely a much better experience than staying at the E&O or some of the Batu Ferringhe hotels.

We had an amazing and luxurious stay at the Prestige. The king bed was a super king and the bedding was super comfortable. The shower pressure was very good and the temperature can be easily adjusted to what you need and remained consistent. I look forward to taking a shower at the end of a blistering hot day in Penang through my trip. The carpet in room also felt super clean that I have no problem walking barefooted. However we are also very puzzled with the bathroom curtain as door concept. It spoils the whole room decor and didn’t serve its purpose fully as there was some parts that couldn’t be fully covered. Breakfast was also pretty good. The complimentary ala carte mains tasted better than what was offered in the buffet line. The highlight of the buffet was definitely the huge slab of the honey comb - our kids loved it and the hotel was so generous to provide that. Overall an excellent stay at an excellent location. 10/10 would do it again.
