The Granite Luxury Hotel Penang garners praise for its exceptional service, with guests often noting the staff's warmth and professionalism, despite occasional breakfast hiccups. Its vibrant atmosphere is a hit among travelers, who also appreciate the strategic location near Georgetown's attractions and food scene. While the rooms are celebrated for their spaciousness and cleanliness, some guests point out noise and dated decor.
The hotel's amenities, including the infinity pool and gym, are popular, although the breakfast selection and kitchen supplies receive mixed reviews. Cleanliness is a standout feature, and many consider the hotel a good value, despite the varying opinions on room size and breakfast.

Great spacious room with a living room area and pantry. Clean with a solid comfortable bed. Lovely shower area. However, toiletries were not enough. So had to ask for more shower gel and shampoo.
Walls are thin, so you can hear people passing outside and next-door.
Parking was inconvenient as it was a mechanical automated tower parking and you feel like an anxious parent looking at your car get swallowed up by this parking and you will find it inconvenient if you accidentally need to access the car if you forgot to take an item from the car.
Location is great as you can walk to Presgrave hawker centre or New Lane hawker centre or the shopping malls like Prangin Mall.
When checking in, was given a room on a low floor even though it was specified that a high floor room is requested. Reception tried to sell a more expensive room at a higher floor. Instead, we insisted on waiting a few more hours for a higher floor room to be available.
Appreciated the welcome nutmeg drink. Water was from a water dispenser just outside your room along the corridor which is more friendly to the environment than providing plastic bottles of mineral water.

From the moment we checked in, the service was 5 star. The staff are friendly, courteous, extremely helpful, and very professional. We had a Premium twin on the 8th floor, which appeared new. Very comfortable and spacious.
The pool deck was a comfortable place to chill often with a nice breeze to keep cool. Nizam, one of the pool guards, is an interesting chap to speak to and very informative. Food and drink can be taken up to the pool deck (no glass, please). The gym on the same level was well equipped, and often, I had the place to myself.
Housekeeping was very efficient with a high standard and not intrusive. They were happy to return when convenient.
The new owners have embarked on a major refurbishment of all locations, hence our room looking new. We stayed for 14 nights and loved every minute of it. Great location, you can walk to most areas of George Town and Grab so easy to go further. This is our 8th hotel so far on our epic world tour, and by far, the best. So much so we have decided to return at the end of Feb for 3 weeks and again in April. There is no doubt later in the year also. It felt like a home to us, and we had become part of their family. There are communal laundry facilities near the car parking exit for a small charge, but reception can offer a professional laundry service for individual items if required.
The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, but there is a rooftop bar 'Attic 23' with food available and a great view of the surrounding area.
A very big thank you to Ika, front office manager, for making it such a wonderful stay and arranging future dates in a 'Classic Suite'.

We booked 3 rooms in total, 2 premium rooms and 1 deluxe room. There are two wings in the hotel; we didnt know the deluxe room was located in a separate wing. But it was a small issue because we can meet easily via the pool deck. We encounter minor issues like the shower room flooding because the drainage was choked and the repairman took a while to come. However all these were quickly resolved because the staff were responsive and helpful. We met a staff on our way up and he saw that my elderly mother was holding packed dinners. He proactively asked if we needed bowls and utensils. At the pool, my daughter exclaimed that i forgot her goggles. The pool staff came over and informed me that they have extra goggles to lend us. All the staff we met were friendly and able to assist us whenever we have questions. In addition, every floor comes with a hot/cold water dispenser and rubbish bin. These are the little touchpoints which may seem insignificant but give us much convenience and satisfaction. Rooms are cozy and comfortable. My only gripe is that the kitchenette could be stocked with utensils, instead we having to ask for it. Nevertheless, well done, Granite Luxury Hotel! We will be back.

Everything about this hotel is just simply excellent and amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there with my son and he too was really impressed by the hotel’s hospitality from the front office staff to the pool attendant.
The bed was really comfortable we had a hard time getting out from it!
Upon entering the hotel, my son who is twelve made a remark “wowww this hotel smells so good and it is so beautiful”.
We were more enthralled when we got to the room and saw how beautiful it was, with a spectacular view of Penang’s landmark, Komtar. My son was also taken by the small but thoughtful gestures such as Penang’s signature products left on the bed as a welcoming gift for us up to the toiletries which he really loved!
Another thing about this hotel is its amazing glass bottom infinity pool which really is truly remarkable.
Thank you the all the staff Vimala, Shalini and Nizam who went the extra mile to make our stay such a memorable one!
We look forward to more stays here

Room type: premium junior room (queen bed configuration). Do note for twin bed configuration, top up is required, probably due to bigger sqm room size.
Comfort: plushy pillows and comforter, requested for additional bolster (huge!) and U shape pregnancy pillow.
Cleanliness: good standards for housekeeping, clean and comfortable lobby area with multiple seatings however pick up and drop off area for vehicles are quite tight and limited as within the compound there’s the hotel block, residential block and automated parking hence the designated pick up and drop off from e-hailing would be next to the main road along Jalan Magazine.
Location: good, central, opposite komtar, 1st Ave shopping mall within 5 mins walking distance, has couple of massage shops nearby, behind of hotel there’s an outdoor alfresco hawker dining with live band on weekends.
Hotel amenities: infinity pool and gym at level 13, do note that the residential also share the pool and gym. Opens 7am to 10pm daily, does not have lifeguard.
Room amenities: shower only this room category of queen bed, bidet, power socket both sides of bed, day and black out curtain, linens by Akemi hotel series and standard toiletries provided, desk + plush chair, bar fridge (however not very cold), closet + hangers, bathrobes, 2 glass bottles are provided and there’s water top up station each at every floor (environmental friendly effort by the hotel).
Service: Great, staff (from lobby, concierge and housekeeping) are polite and prompt with their service
Additional: complimentary one way shuttle service with 6 stops at various popular breakfast spots either at 830am/ 915am/ 10am daily, pre-booking required.

We stayed for 5 nights consisting of 5 families. Rooms were decent and spacious considering its price. The hotel has 2 wings separating the suites and luxury rooms.
Note :
1) The windows are locked so smells will keep circulating in the room.So having take away, go to the swimming pool area as it is open air.
2) The noise from the automated carpark if you are designated a room close by. Ask for a room away from those. Staff would be plenty of help.
3) Breakfast is an alacarte menu at a small cafe. Not a very good atmosphere with renovations nearby. Ask for a takeaway.
4) Laundry is a do it yourself process. it’s 25 mins for wash and 40 mins dryer at 20 RM.
5) Nice rooftop bar that closes at 2 am with good selections of drinks and accommodating staff.
Overall recommended if you are travelling with big groups. Special shout out to the staff and management whom maintained the service and to Joshua and Vignesh who made our stay memorable.

My family (a group of 13, which included four generations) stayed at the Granite for a week in January 2024. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would recommend the hotel, with a couple of qualifiers.
We loved the suites. Our group took up all the suites on the 11th floor except for one. That gave us the ability to keep our doors latched open and have the freedom to move between rooms. That was really nice and we're thankful that the management arranged things that way.
We loved the pool and especially the clear floor, which looked down on the street fourteen floors below. There was also a gym, which I only used briefly a few times.
The bathrooms were nice and even with the water restrictions in Penang, we were not affected at all.
The management was helpful and friendly. We all received a warm welcome and a drink when we arrived.
We loved location. It couldn't be more central to the George Town area. The hotel is directly across the road from Komtar and there is a plethora of shopping centres and markets surrounding the hotel. Of special mention is the 1st Avenue shopping centre and the Gama department store.
What I didn't like: every other suite our family occupied was fantastic. But ours (1102) seemed like it missed out on any renovations. It certainly didn't share any of the lovely decor touches that other suites had. But the worst thing about our suite was the lack of light (or any outside view at all) in the master bedroom. The view (of Komtar) was in the living room, but our bedroom was pitch black.
That said, every other room we saw seemed to be great.
The price was good. $750 for a week in a suite for 3 adults. Can't beat that.
Recommend? Definitely. But probably not room 1102. :)

The choice of this hotel for my business trip turned out to be unfortunate. A crucial issue is that the hotel does not provide breakfast, which was not mentioned at the time of booking. Guests are directed to a local bistro across the street, where it's possible to order a la carte, but ordering multiple items becomes problematic. The beverage options are limited to coffee and tea, with no juice available. Laundry service is also not provided by the hotel. Generally, the staff's willingness to address issues is non-existent. We tried to cancel our breakfast for the subsequent days due to these reasons, but the receptionist was arrogant and stated that the booking had already been paid for through a booking website, and we were out of luck. Another inconvenience is that every two rooms are connected by locked doors, so you can hear everything happening in your neighbor's room, and vice versa, reducing the privacy and spoiling the experience in otherwise nice rooms. A positive aspect is the beautiful pool on the upper floors. However, it closes at 10 PM, and the security staff makes this very clear in a bothersome way after 9 PM. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this hotel, and I'm certain that better options at the same price range can be found in George Town.

We’ve recently returned from yet another long stay (41 night) at the Granite Luxury Hotel in one of their spacious comfortable suites and avoiding the worst of Europe’s winter. We find the hotel facilities absolutly superb, from the very comfortable suites to roof top infinity pool.
The location is perfect for those like us wanting to take in Georgetown’s heritage, vibrant atmosphere and food culture being within easy walking distance of almost all of the old town’s must see locations. The hotel is also right across the road to Penang’s bus hub, giving convenient access to all the main shopping malls and places of interest, as well as a regular bus service to Batu Ferringhi beach resort.
However, most importantly are the people who make our stay so enjoyable. Having stayed in many hotels around the world, we’ve never experienced such friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. From reception and managerial staff, to security, room service and pool attendants, all are exceptionally welcoming, friendly, professional and helpful.
Thanks to Najmi, Amin and Nabil the pool staff who welcomed us each morning with chats and smiles along with the wonderful house keeping staff and delightful managers Ika and Jovan who made sure our stay so enjoyable.

Clean and spacious for relaxation and work too. As the suite is big enough, it managed to filter much of the noise during the early morning loud talking and banging of doors. There was a big group of tourists that took all the remaining rooms, and the rest of the floors. The hotel was fully booked. When the tourists came back around 2-3 am from their convention in Penang, as the room has a depth and a door to close the bedroom, it managed to reduce the outside noise

Dear Mr.Simon, thank you very much for your candid review of your recent stay at our hotel. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay. We are extremely sorry for the nuisance caused to you due to our guest's own commitment towards their own relationship. It must be a wild battle that day for their sound to transmit through a 100mm partition in their room, a 100mm insulated solid wall, and a 100mm partition in your room. On the Light-Proof issue, our maintenance team would like to contact you to further discuss on this issue as this is the first time we have received such complain, and also to efficiently tackle this problem.
For the Hair Dryer, Iron Board, Iron or even if you want some wine glass or plates or bowl or Induction Cooker or Forks and Spoons and even a Projector, it will all be provided upon request. And the slippers, i've personally questioned my Housekeeping, and they ensure me that the slippers is in the room cabinet.
We are really thankful for the commendation of our Vehicle Parking Mechanical System, our car park colleagues will be so happy to hear this commendation.
The room has no washing facilities but it is cheap to have done at local laundry. They will look after your luggage till you pick it up to go to airport and they will accommodate an early checkin if room is available but there may be a fee!
No but they do direct you in the direction of a place where you can get a basic breakfast or the facilities in the room allow for a simple breakfast.
