A charming small hotel, recently refurbished. We are a member of Marriot-Bonvoy and made some requests through the app prior to our arrival. I was glad to see our requests were fulfilled upon arrival. The room was clean, aircond was cold and shower was hot, water pressure was also great. Parking is free, just need to validate the Touch n Go card before leaving. Their breakfast was pretty basic, costs RM30 per adult and half of that price for children 6-12 years old. We were only there for one night, would not hesitate to stay there again.

I recently stayed at AC Hotel by Marriott and had a wonderful experience overall. The hotel boasts a modern and stylish design, with clean and comfortable rooms that made my stay truly enjoyable. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to assist, ensuring a smooth check-in and a pleasant stay.
The location is excellent, offering easy access to nearby attractions and conveniences. The amenities were also well-maintained, and I especially appreciated the comfortable bedding and well-equipped facilities.
However, the buffet breakfast was a letdown. The food quality did not meet expectations—potatoes were undercooked, and the nasi lemak sambal was overwhelmingly salty. It would be great if the hotel could improve the breakfast selection and ensure better quality control in the future.
Despite this, I would still recommend AC Hotel for its overall comfort, service, and ambiance. I hope to see improvements in the breakfast experience on my next visit!

AC hotel was really a value for money hotel stay. At around US$70 per night stay, the 1 night stay come with 2 free breakfast and 2 free Ramadan dinner. The dinner satay and thoe grill meat section was fresh and great taste. To top it all, the desert section was also good. The ice Kajang was nicely decorated with rainbow colours. and the ice cream was sweet with numerous variety. Hotel Manager Khairul Anuar Husain, was very helpful and without him, I may have miss my hotel stay ands my plane flight.

This is my second stay at this hotel and another redemption booking. Its a simple hotel, but carries the Marriot branding well through good and committed staff. Being an elite Bonvoy member, I have been rather spoilt in the past 12 years and the majority of my stays within the Group have always provided my breakfast free. However, redemption stays at this property doesn't include breakfast irrespective of status. On my first stay with this hotel back in August, I did express my views to the Manager - Julia Rashid. She rectified this immediately and I wasn't charged for my breakfast. On this, my second stay, I didn't even have to say a word and automatically my stay included breakfast though the redemption doesn't include it. Julia remembered my previous stay and told the check-in officer immediately. True credit to the management team. Its always nice to be remembered and creates a sense of belonging. Will definitely return to this hotel.

Loud Banging all day and need me to call the front office two times in one morning to show how serious I am with the disturbance.
Had to use my mobile phone to call the front office or else wont be able to get hold of any of the staffs. All the time.
Miscommunication with front office on connected rooms. Upon arrival only we were told, confirmed connected rooms were unavailable for our chosen type of rooms.
Room cards became default after first use on the 1st day. We exchange Notes with other guests experiencing the same problem. Actually had the same experience with Ac Hotel in Penang as well. Now wondering… tiring experience settling issues at this hotel.
Two days of tiring hotel stay…that would be my comment.
Banging is still heard and is hearing it again now. Calling the front desk again. Probably.

Thanks to my Marriott Bonvoy membership, our family of three stayed for one night en route from Kelantan to Singapore. The hotel is nicely located along our planned route along the coastal road towards Johor. The room and facilities were relatively new, clean, and comfortable. The experience was value for money, and we would be happy to stay here again on our next stopover in Kuantan.

This hotel has been rebranded from Vistana and meant to be an “upscale” AC Hotel by Marriott. It’s the same company who own it, YTL. Unfortunately and typically they have done literally nothing to the Hotel to bring it up to any standard you would expect when from a Marriott hotel. Especially an AC hotel in Europe. The rooms are EXACTLY the same as from the previous brand, to be honest so is everything. The hotel is over 20 years old and in need of a FULL refurbishment. The lobby has been modernised before hand but it makes it even worse when you get to a room that looks 20 years old. The bathrooms have been modernised around 5 years ago but all to a typical poor standard by YTL. There’s a dangerous lip on the floor when u walk into the bathroom and when bare foot can be dangerous if you catch it as it’s sharp marble flooring. Clearly a hazard overlooked. The furniture is old and dirty, the curtains are stained, the towels are rough, the shower head is discoloured, the air conditioning is very loud, the views are poor. It’s a horrible room to be in.The service during CNY was poor as they had just opened, getting use to a new system and I assume have new staff. I was asked to join Marriott Bonvoy even though I’m a gold elite and it said it on the paper they asked me to sign up on??? They didn’t mention anything during check in about facilities, breakfast, rate, room. It was all a mess. The room was poor and small with plenty of issues. I didn’t bother with breakfast at this hotel so I cannot speak on that. Curtains do not fully close and let plenty of light though which is ridiculous. The in room phone is so old and doesn’t even connect to reception kept cutting off the call. Rooms were not made up on some days till nearly 4pm. Asking for anything such as towels or extra amenities is a long process. Sometimes it can take 2/3 attempts as well as waiting a long time for them to be brought up. 2 old lifts are not adequate for a hotel with such capacity. Large rattles when u get in and small lifts. This hotel should not be part of Marriott and I warn anyone who books here or any AC Hotel Malaysia it is owned by YTL and all rebranded from Vistana old hotels so u will not be getting any Marriott experience. Cheap and poor quality service this is the last time I stay at any YTL hotels across Malaysia. Shouldn’t be part of Marriott and wouldn’t recommend. It’s a shame, YTL had a chance here to make a great first Marriott property in Kuantan and rival some of the other great hotels here, instead they opted to be cheap, take out a Marriott contact and pretend to be an upscale hotel. Be warned.

Best city hotel in Kuantan. Always my first choice. The room is clean, and the service is excellent. It's located just a 5-minute drive from Kuantan city. The food court, famous Kuantan satay, nasi lemak, and grill restaurants are all within walking distance from the hotel.
Julia manages the hotel very well and shares her experience effectively with her team. She even assigned me my favorite room and took note of my pillow arrangement, making my stay comfortable and enjoyable.

A new brand in Malaysia. Previously known as Vistana Hotels, they were rebranded into AC Hotels quite recently.
A little mixed feeling about this property though. AC Hotels by Marriott are usually a modern hotel experience with a focus on design. And with a few of their very own signature spaces design, their own bath amenities by Korres, their own scent and candles and many more. However, if you are a fan of the brand, you may find yourself a little disappointed when you stay here.
The lobby of the hotel, the AC Library, and the bar has been renovated to reflect of the brand. It was a very good first impression. And by the way, I personally love the scene of the AC brand.
But once you arrived at the room, don’t get me wrong, it is still a solid and nice hotel. But once you get to your room, the branding fades and somehow you’ll feel like you are back in time in the early 2000s or 90s. You kinda feel disconnected from the hype that has been build up from the moment you check in.
The AC Lounge, is not bad but also not great. You have all the basics. Finger food, hot and cold are served. Soft drinks, coffee, tea, one house white and red plus beers is served during the evenings. They are just seats and cocktail tables available, however if you wanna get some work done, it may not be the best space to be in. On the plus side, the property has created some public space for meeting and getting some work done.
Breakfast spread is quite basic but good. I love the coffee! Nothing fancy but also doesn’t stand out.
On the bright side, for those who are looking to do a mattress run, this property totally make sense. On average the rates are around US$35/night. And since 3 AC Hotels are introduced in Malaysia, we took the opportunity to check them out.
Elite recognition was good, the service was good and prompt. Friendly staffs, and pretty good in terms of location. The only thing I couldn’t get pass was the branding and designs.

I’ve made a booking for 1 night stay for a executive king room with sofa bed. On the morning of the stay, i did the online check in on the marriott apps. The process was smooth up until this. Later in the evening, I received a call saying that they couldn’t provide the room that we booked. And instead offered us another room which didn’t have a sofa bed, at a reduced rate, due to some problem with the maintenance. It was totally ridiculous!! What’s the point of us checking in earlier when our room was simply given to other guests?? I purposely booked that room for the sofa bed as we were travelling with the kids so we wanted them to sleep comfortably. End up, our kids need to sleep on the carpet with the blanket they provided.! Upon receiving the call, i tried to search for other accommodations, but sadly no other options available as it was a busy weekend. Just imagine after long hours of driving from melaka, we were told that our rooms were not available! This shouldn’t happen again either to us or to other guests. This was not our first stay, as previously we did have good memories with the hotel. After this incident, I won’t be returning back, as it did spoilt our mood for the entire journey. Poor us!

Hi. I believe their Club Suite room has a couch/sofa. In the hotel's official website, under Accommodation, you can find the different types of rooms available - Executive Deluxe Twin/King, Club Deluxe and Club Suite.

You can have the buffet breakfast in VIstana Hotel. The food is excellent. However, I'm not sure the buffet price for breakfast individually. As I'm aware, the price for buffet breakfast will cost you RM30.00 (if you book room in VIstana). Nevertheless, you may call the Front Office to enquire.
