I really wanted to give this hotel a 5 star rating. Us, a family of 3, look for hidden gems when it comes to beach resorts. Nice and isolated with a killer view at a reasonable budget. If the food makes you salivate and they set out a nice buffet, even better!
With this in mind we found a last minute deal on Swiss garden beach resort, kuantan. we booked the executive suit for one night and took the scenic drive on 29th Dec from KL to Kuantan.
The positives: 1. The view: we adored the view from our room, the beach is practically isolated and lies literally at the lap of the hotel. The walk along the shores in the late afternoon was the highlight for us. You an also watch sunrise at the hotel faces east. 2. The food: The dinner buffet was just the way we like it. Not too many items to cloud your mind, just enough and good quality ones to leave you full. We particularly liked the grill station where Grilled sate, lamb strips and shrimps were grilled to perfection. 3. The location: GIven its kinda in the middle of nowhere and to get there the GPS will take you through nooks that you didnt think your car would fit into. But thats exactly what we like as a family: a location thats quiet, no malls nearby to disturb the peace with plenty of outdoor parking spaces to boot.
The negatives: 1. Two staffs: It would be unfair to say staff were unfriendly in general as the guy who checked us in was wooden but polite. The nice lady at the restaurant counter was also helpful. Just two of the staff soured our experience somewhat and that really shows the importance of training and consistency of behavior in hospitality business: this waiter at the dinner buffet rudely said for family only when we wanted to sit outdoors (the garden terrace, their main restaurant has outdoor seating option with a nice view overlooking the pool). We offcourse were a family but didnt want to argue with him as he probably meant larger families (for some reason all outdoor tables were big, round ones with seating capacity of 8). The other one during checkout wanted to charge us almost 3 Ringgit when we asked for a water bottle for our drive back home. Not a huge amount but when the guest has forked out 1000+ in total cost to the hotel surely a water bottle should be handed over with complements from the hotel!
So, there you go. 2 stars taken away for two small incidents that could have been handled much better. But thats what the hospitality industry is, you live and die by the experience your staff provide. Overall I think the structure is there for this hotel to be regarded as a true peaceful getaway destination for beach lovers who love their privacy. If only they could train their staff better......

Stayed here for 2 nights. Hotel is located on a busy road between Kuantan and Balok. On other side there is a beautiful beach. Recommend sea view rooms. City of Kuantan is 20 minutes drive from this hotel.
Rooms are newly renovated. Very fresh and clean rooms. Beds in twin room is comfortable but very small bed. Normally twin rooms have queen bed so an adult and child or 2 children can share the bed. That is not possible in these twin rooms.
Facilities are fine, big pool 1,5m deep in addition to kids pool. Pools and pool-area was not clean. I don't understand why these hotels doesn't invest more in cleaning. It shouldn't cost them much to have a person picking up cigarette butt and other trash. It can't cost much. Another strange setup in this hotel was the terrace/pool cafe service. You had to go all the way in the hotel to order anything and they delivered the food/drinks to your sun-bed in take-away bag.
And another strange thing, which shouldn't be possible in 2024: Very slow WiFi.

At the weekend you should be aware that many locals visit the hotel, with lots of children. Here too you should be tolerant and understanding, even if things get a bit loud.

Totally extreme disappointment and frustration on how Swiss Garden Beach Resort Kuantan treated their guests.Rated as below satisfactory level due to following issues.
Firstly, upon arrival, I was shocked to discover that the room I booked, based on the information provided on their website, did not match the reality. The website clearly stated that the room had a bathtub, but to my dismay, it only had a shower. This discrepancy in the room facilities is misleading and unacceptable.
Secondly, and more importantly, I was subjected to intolerable noise from ongoing renovation work. I understand that renovations are necessary, but allowing guests to check into a room that was exposed to such deafening noise is utterly unacceptable. The noise was so loud that it gave me a severe headache. When I brought this to the attention of your staff, I was appalled by their response. They suggested that I endure the noise for three hours, and even after my complaint, they acted so late until i had to complaint it again at their reception counter. This lack of consideration for guests is both disrespectful and unprofessional.
Due to these issues, my stay at your hotel was completely ruined, and I felt compelled to demand a full refund for my stay. Furthermore, I had no choice but to check out immediately to escape the unbearable conditions. I believe that such a drastic action was the only reasonable course of action given the circumstances. Thankfully, Zenith Hotel Kuantan still allow me to make last minute arrangement for our stay.
I urge the hotel management to investigate this matter thoroughly and learn from this experience and improve your services to avoid similar situations for other guests.

Hot water did not work when we arrived. Asked maintenance to help, but its still just lukewarm at best (probably even lesser what ud call lukewarm…). Was only resolved day after around night time due to defects.. Sink initially clogged when we arrive but maintenance unclogged it when we call for assistance (it clogged again day after). No separate shower and bath so shower is in bath which felt dangerous. No separate anti slip mat on bath tub provided. No floor mat provided, had to call to get it which was so odd as it shd be something by default they put for safety.. No face towel provided as well. I would not recommend this room to anyone with knees issues, or elderly as the bath tub is high requiring you to step up and down to take a shower and there is no separate shower as an option.
Breakfast Took the room with bfast but no complimentary breakfast given for my 5 year old. My child is just 5 years old and was charged rm20.. No cold milk for cereal which is odd and there was nothing my child liked from the spread. As an adult, i felt their spread could have been better too.. their beehoon goreng was the most plain beehoon ive seen nothing inside just fried beehoon no meat not much vege no color.. If you have to pay for child even for that 5 year old who doesnt really eat, might as well u opt for cheaper non breakfast room. Felt a rip off to pay rm20 for my 5 year child.
Service Their only good point is their staff who is dedicated at their work. Maintenance came very late to help us with clogged sink.. customer care also picks up call and try to resolve things even though some issues were not able to be resolved eg sink became clogged again after repair. The hotel is just old and due for a refurbishment for the price they charge.
Comments Time for a big refurbishment for the room. Improve on toilet and functionality. Accident waiting to happen with current layout especially for elderly. And ridiculous to charge a 5 year who doesnt eat rm20 breakfast (less 5rm from what they charge adult).
come here if you snagged a good deal online. If at usual price, id say not that great unfortunately. Best thing abt the hotel would be the access to beach and pool for kids.

Good points: excellent beach ( swimming not recommended due to strong currents). All-terrain vehicles and horsetrading available. Lovely breeze to sit by the beach and enjoy under the trees. Breakfast reasonable although it seems very busy and staff have to work extra hard to cope with the demand. They are often lacking in plates and bowls. Could do with better representation of Malaysian food such as nasi lemak, kuey teow and more local fruits Fantastic Chinese restaurant called the Blossom which is highly recommended.
Not so good points: bedrooms are very tired, dated and in need of upgrade. Our room had a cupboard door that was falling off and the bathroom grouting and tiling were in dire need of upgrades and improvement. I would rate the quality of the accommodation including the bathroom as 3 star only.
Be aware that despite booking on a third party website that assured us of breakfast, The hotel Winston that each room would only accommodate four guests for breakfast even though it would sleep five guests

We spent 3 nights here and were quite underwhelmed and disappointed. While it's understandable that Covid and the lockdowns took a toll on all hotels, the Swiss Garden Beach Resort just looks dirty and dishevelled. The private beach was not cleaned during our whole stay - empty drink bottles, masks and cigarette butts that greeted us on the first day were still there on the last. The hotel was fully booked and staff could obviously not keep up - people kept using the pools without rinsing after the beach and wearing sweatpants instead of proper swimming attire. Housekeeping never managed to clean our room properly (see pictures of what we found post cleaning). All in all, the prices they charge should warrant much better service.

The room that was given to us (my wife and I) at the Swiss Garden Resort in Kuantan was excellent. Our only complaint was the bath tub (which was also the shower area) was elevated, making it difficult to go in and out of it. Other than that, the room was excellent.
We tried the BBQ buffet on the same night (due to a whole day of travel) and found that it could have been better. There was a good variety of food provided however, if one thing could be improved it would be the service. While it wasn't a deal breaker, we hoped that the on-ground staff would have been more attentive to our needs (e.g. refilling water, clearing plates, replacing cutlery etc)
The front office team was excellent! They made us feel special during check in and went above and beyond. For example, they gave us excellent recommendations on where to eat, their F&B outlets and even loaning a charger when it was needed.
Overall, it was a good experience and we may be planning a trip there sometime in the future.

Check-in process was quick and easy on 16th Sep 2020. Front desk staff was friendly and efficient. The room is spacious and equipped with the basic amenities. We didn't take breakfast because Kuantan town is just 15min drive and easy to get breakfast, even any meals. Overall, it was a good stay. However, on the 2nd day of our stay, the housekeeping staff came in to take the used towels which we had nicely hanged outside. This episode happened while we were out. As per Hotel's notice (in the bathroom, just above the tub) if you wish to change your towels, leave it on the tub. Nowadays, most hotels are environmentally-friendly and discouraged daily change for fresh towel. And during this Covid pandemic, we of course sprayed the room and make sure all was wiped cleaned. We did not ask for any house keeping. Very disappointed! Our safe box was faulty and useless. Otherwise, it could have been a great experience with Swiss Garden.

Third visits to KuanySwuss Garden Hotel in 2 weeks and most probably my last. While the first stay was enjoyable even if rooms (executive family) were a bit tired and we had to ask for towels as both rooms didn't have any when we checked in. For the second trip few days later, despite having only 2 guests in front of us for the check-in it took 20 mins to reach the counter and when finally we got to the room and we're looking for a nice shower, we had again to ask for towels. While waiting for the housekeeping we wanted to check emails and watch some videos but WiFi was not available in our room. Despite all this we booked another 2 nights in this hotel and well I still don't know if my room has towel because I'm stuck on the queue for now 45min and I'm not even half way through... I understand we are the 01st of January and a Friday afternoon and it is a busy period but having to wait for more than an hour to check-in is completely unacceptable. Maybe the management needs to have more than 1 person behind the check in counter.....
I have been traveling a lot and it is the first time I have to wait so long.
