Overall, my stay was highly enjoyable and I would even go so far as to say it is the best hotel in Kuantan.
Although the building is older, it is exceptionally well-maintained and the refurbished rooms are both comfortable and inviting. The bed, pillows and duvet made for a restful night’s sleep—I felt like I slept like a baby!
I especially appreciated the hotel's prime beachfront location, which offers plenty of benches for guests to relax and take in the beautiful beach view. The breakfast buffet was another highlight, with an impressive spread that includes fresh juices, Malaysian favorites like teh tarik and nescafe tarik.
The hotel's strategic location makes it easy to access a variety of food options and attractions.

It was a pleasant stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed the serene beach surroundings. The soothing sound of the waves and the beautiful views made our experience truly relaxing. However, I would recommend replacing the pillows in the room as they seem worn out and uncomfortable. Improving this small detail would enhance the overall comfort of the stay.

If you like a BIG hotel - then this is the place for you. The Hyatt Regency Kuantan is a huge property, holding a prime beach front position in Kuantan. Very popular with large family groups, we found the pools a little too busy with lots of young kids swimming in the 2 pools. It is a shame there isn’t an adults only space. The staff were fabulous - right across the board - very helpful, friendly and accommodating - made us feel very welcome. Parking was a challenge at times - particularly when there were functions on at the hotel. The room was comfortable albeit a little on the small side and lacking enough storage space for 2 adults for a 5 night stay.
Unfortunately we found the soundproofing of our room to be a major problem. Our neighbour had a young baby who woke/cried regularly throughout the night - perhaps if we had a solid wall between our room and the next room (and not an interconnecting door) - the noise may not have been an issue.
Breakfast was good - lots of choice but very busy over the new year period. The Italian Restaurant was very nice and afforded a lovely view of the ocean in the evening.
We also had access to the Club lounge which was OK. Unfortunately we have been spoilt by staying at the Shangri-La properties whose club lounges set the bar for club lounges i.e. wide selection of drinks and snacks and dinner, afternoon tea options but snacks offered throughout the day. We found the Hyatt Regency Club lounge to be lacking somewhat (there was one bottle of chardonay and one bottle of sav Blanc in the fridge on offer and many people in the lounge - it just seemed a little unwelcoming and stingy). Most people don’t go overboard (of course there are always a few who do) but on the whole, I think people are pretty good with what they take.
We ate out locally in Kuantan on a few occasions - Zam Zam served up fantastic middle Eastern food in a nice setting (and very reasonable), Satay Zul was great for Malaysian food (and cheap as), MiCasa Coffee shop served a great lunch and excellent coffee (prices also very good) and Dolly Dim Sum was also very good.
All in all, we had a lovely time at the Hyatt Regency Kuantan. Thanks for all.

We chose to stay at this lovely resort after a busy week of family travels post CNY. With just a short 35-minutes up and down flight from KL with MH, this was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of a major city. We appreciated the personalized welcome and transfer services from the airport in Kuantan and were quickly escorted to our room without delay. Check-in experience was 10/10. We especially enjoyed the rich breakfast buffet as well as the highly attentive pool team, who looked after us so well, especially with drinks and food as necessary. Quick tip: The best times around the pool are from 1pm to 4pm, as it does get very busy with families otherwise.
Housekeeping service was excellent throughout and the room was so well looked after. No complaints whatsoever. We did request for some extra items to be delivered to our Suite and the service was prompt and efficient, without delays.
The one place that stands out for us in terms of service delivery & menu attractiveness was the Italian Bistro at the hotel. We were there on two nights of our stay and greatly enjoyed the teams attention, personalised experience and warmth of service delivery. The price point is very reasonable.
We also enjoyed the massage at the Hotel Spa. We found the team to be very attentive, friendly and highly professional. Whilst we did try the nearby foot Spa outside of the hotel, we'd much recommend the Hotel Spa as the service is much better.
Mind you, this is a fairly large resort with many families as guests. It does get very busy, but then the hotel is very spread out and you can find your own place of relaxation as you see fit, in this small local community.

Once more, Hyatt Kuantan was a nice and comfortable stay. The staffs were pleasant and responsive, with the room housekeeping staff flexible in providing more amenities. Great to see the Sampan Bar is now back. Only wish their drinks menu is broader. The only snag was the limited parking beside the lobby as the other lot by the jungle was not safe - too deserted - to use at night. May I suggest that the parking beside the lobby is limited to staying guests only and not to allow the public to park there

The hotel’s location is great because it is directly next to the beach. Staff are friendly and always has a smile on them, especially the Manager at Kampung restaurant Norkey (I hope I spelt her name correctly).
The room(3520) I had was right in front of the lift, which you could hear the bell go off every time it’s in use. View was nice, facing the forest which was serene. However, the toilet needs deep cleaning as the grout on floors and walls were stained.
Kudos to housekeeping, room was made every morning with essentials topped up. One morning we found pee in front of the door! Told the housekeeper and he immediately cleaned it for us.
Downside, the swimming pool area really needs maintenance throughout the day. The floors were not cleaned, rubbish left by guests was not cleared. Even the next day, the floors was still dirty on the exact spot, and there wasn’t any throughout cleaning.
Children’s playroom was so disappointing. Old, damaged, dirty toys.
At other hotels, there were dedicated staff in the playroom, at the pool area, just to clean and offer assistance. I think this should be done too at this property.
One more thing, please prepare some designated smoking area. Guests were just smoking everywhere and near to children. We go there for the fresh air, not for polluted air.

We booked 2 Twins and 2 Kings Deluxe rooms (Garden view) for the 8 adults and 1 child. Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort had managed to place all our rooms almost next to each other with one connecting room and located all at the third floor. That was a very good service and all appreciated for these arrangements. Be aware only that the check in time is 4:00pm!! and this is not what we are used to under Hyatt standards. Need improvement as we had to wait more than 30 minutes for our room. Our rooms were in building 4, behind main building/main lobby entrance and conveniently close by to go to the front desk. However, it is a bit hassle specially for elderly to take the stairs when going to the beach/swimming pool/Kampung for breakfast, as there is no lift exiting directly to the 1st floor unless trespassing the staff only door to exit the building 4!
As for food, there are plenty places to visit for makan2 with short distance drive from the hotel, and next to the hotel, you can walk to find plenty of fast-food restaurants (Loteng, Subway, Starbucks, McDonald's, KFC) and food stalls available till late at night. At the hotel, Buffet Breakfast quality is good enough with a good spread of Malay, Indian, Chinese, and English breakfast and with good coffee too. One good thing is that the food like bread, cold dishes, warm dishes/ dim-sum, fruits were all well covered or in a cold/ warm display case to protect from flies. One downside is that it is not easy to take the cold dishes like cheese/cold meat when you can only open the display on one side only. We had our first dinner at the Italian Bistro and made advanced reservation. We were all impressed with the service given and enjoyed very delicious Italian food like bread, salad, good hand tossed pizzas, risotto and pastas while enjoying outdoor seating with sea breeze at the veranda by the beach. Average food is served at Kampung for lunch and the serving sadly was a bit slow. It would be nice if Hotel can consider to place an Ice cube maker like somewhere in the Main building area.
At the end, there is no better place in Kuantan to chill than Hyatt Regency Kuantan. Location is close to the very clean and nice beach / let us hope to keep this way, reasonable hotel accommodation, and ideal location for families with kids. It is worth to visit one day again and will try the sea-view deluxe room. We all really enjoyed our time and recharged our battery staying at the Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort.

Went to Kuantan for a 4 days 3 nights vacation. Decided to stay at Hyatt Regency. The hotel is strategically located right at Teluk Cempedak beach. There are eateries from fast food to your local gerais located right next to the hotel. Access to the town of Kuantan was surprisingly great with Grab easily available.
Upon arriving I was greeted by the kind staff. My room wasn't ready yet at the time and I was sent to the Regency club lounge. Be advised that I booked a club room, hence why I got access to the club lounge. The front desk staff told that the keys will be delivered to me at the lounge. The instructions were all very clear and I managed to find the lounge easily.
After spending some time at the lounge, while indulging myself with the cookies and fruit juices available, the staff at the lounge delivered me the keys to my room and proceeded to explain everything about the resort. Thank you to the club lounge staff for their courteousness and kind service as I spent all my evenings there.
The room was great. It was clean and large for me. Housekeeping was also great. Since I switched on the do not disturb sign on my room, when they meet me in the hallway, they asked if I needed anything. Coincidentally, I do need a couple of new water bottles and they obliged. Excellent service from the housekeeping staff.
Breakfast was heavenly. The view of the sun rising while sipping on my cup of teh tarik was just awesome. Again, the staff here was excellent. Prompt removal of empty plates despite the crowd is something to be proud about for the staff. Kudos.
All in all, it was a great vacation. I was pleasantly charmed not just by the hotel, but by the beach, the people of Kuantan and of course, the small city of Kuantan itself. Thank you for having me.

Be advised that I booked a club room, hence why I got access to the club lounge. The front desk staff told that the keys will be delivered to me at the lounge. The instructions were all very clear and I managed to find the lounge easily.
After spending some time at the lounge, while indulging myself with the cookies and fruit juices available, the staff at the lounge delivered me the keys to my room and proceeded to explain everything about the resort. Thank you to the club lounge staff for their courteousness and kind service as I spent all my evenings there.
The room was great. It was clean and large for me. Housekeeping was also great. Since I switched on the do not disturb sign on my room, when they meet me in the hallway, they asked if I needed anything. Coincidentally, I do need a couple of new water bottles and they obliged. Excellent service from the housekeeping staff.
Breakfast was heavenly. The view of the sun rising while sipping on my cup of teh tarik was just awesome. Again, the staff here was excellent. Prompt removal of empty plates despite the crowd is something to be proud about for the staff. Kudos.
All in all, it was a great vacation. I was pleasantly charmed not just by the hotel, but by the beach, the people of Kuantan and of course, the small city of Kuantan itself. Thank you for having me.

A supermarket is not within walking distance but within a 5-7m drive away. There is however, a 7-11 convenience store within walking distance. Hope that helps.
Would definitely recommend Puteh Beach Bar for dinner & drinks, but too far from Hyatt to walk.
