This is one of the newest hotel on the strip of Pantai Tengah beach. The hotel is not on the beach, you need to walk across street to get there or ask the hotel to give you a drive on golf cart.
There is no lounge on the premise, so no added bonus for Marriott elite status.
Not much shops or good restaurants near the hotel. If you want more activities you have to walk 30 minutes to Cenang beach, Grab would cost $2 usd.
The hotel had good buffet for dinner, it cost $58 Malaysia for one day but on weekends it cost $88 Malaysia. The food changed each day. Some of the food were too sweet to my taste, it would be perfect if it less sweet because it would be easier to add sugar if someone wanted more sweetness. I don’t understand why it cost more on the weekends even the food were similar or even less choices. You can’t bring outside drink to the restaurant but you can bring if the drinks provided from your hotel room (beers, soft drinks are free in the room if your status are Platinum or above). The restaurant has a great view of the pool and beach. The services at the restaurant were great. I would eat here instead of outside restaurant because more choices, cleanliness and cool with air conditioning. It would be better if the price stay the same for Friday to Sunday.
It was hard to find a Grab car for 6 people so thanked to TA we used driver Mr Hanif, he can speak English and arrived very promptly. We used him for airport transfers and full day trips. We contacted him by WhatsApp and he got back right away. The transfers price at the hotel cost much more if you wanted them to call a cab for you
It was nice that they packed us breakfast because we had to leave at 5 am. You can request the food you preferred and they did try their best to accommodate. They many choices for breakfast too
I would recommend this place to anyone

We (1 adult, 3 elderly above 65) stayed at the Aloft Langkawi from 5-8 Jan 2021. We had rooms 535 & 527. Both rooms faced the ocean, were clean and amenities were as would be expected from a Marriott hotel. Views from our rooms were fantastic. The balcony was good to laze around & hear the birds outside. You'll spot some monkeys around as well if you keep your eyes open.

We used the pool on the 3rd floor and the views from it was therapeutic. If you don't want to walk to the beach, you can enjoy the sunset from the pool. There is public beach about 2mins walk from the hotel. The beach doesn't have any restaurants so I'd suggest you grab some drinks and food before heading there. You can also get beach towels from the hotel.

The thing that made our stay great was the Staff at the restaurant and also the breakfast crew. Mr. Irmi Izairi and his crew (Dini, Sarah, Jess) were friendly, helpful and made all the difference to our stay. Breakfast crowds were huge but the staff were polite, smiling & always reminding guests to use masks and the gloves provided. Nothing was too much to ask. They cleaned tables swiftly and sanitized everything once guests left. They would take the time to chat with guests, asking about their stay & giving suggestions.

Food was excellent especially the local dishes. Croissants were one of the best I've had in buffets, the local dishes tasted like home-cooked and the warm waffles were the cherry on top for me. We also had dinner 1 night at the hotel and the food was good and the prices reasonable. The salmon tasted great, butter chicken was a bit salty but chicken burger was excellent. Room service crew, front office and even the security guards were friendly and welcoming.

We mostly used the pool area when we were in the hotel and it was good to see common areas being sanitized frequently. We had a good holiday with peace of mind. I hope the quality would be maintained for our future visits and if I'm returning, it is definitely because of the exceptional service of the staff.

We stayed at this modern hotel for a week, during a 3 week visit to Langkawi. I don't think I have ever visited a hotel where EVERY member of staff greets you with a broad smile and friendly attitude. The customer care was first class and definitely contributed to a fantastic hotel experience.

From the moment you arrive staff deal with your luggage while you are ushered to check in desk. We were offered complimentary fruit juice drink while we waited, but check in was quick and efficient. We got a complimentary upgrade to high floor, ocean view room, and complimentary buffet meal in restaurant as staying for a week.

The rooms are bright and modern. Large balcony over looks the pool with amazing ocean views and lovely to watch the sunset in the evening. The beds are huge and you will get a very restful sleep they are so comfortable. The Aloft have included many extras in your room to improve your stay, plentiful tea and coffee and lots of bottled water, fridge is filled daily with soft drinks, masses of toiletries in bathroom, huge LED Tv. There is room safe, iron and hair dryer. The wardrobe is in bathroom area but wasn't an issue for me.

I had read that this hotel wasn't beach front, which is true (it's across the road) but a simple walk - and hotel has golf buggy if you prefer. I spent most time by the pool which was chilled and relaxing, but maybe at busier times it would be harder to get a sun lounger.

Breakfast is served in buffet style, providing a wide range of foods to meet all clients tastes. I enjoyed fresh juices, coffee and fruits, and waffles. My only quibble would be that the food was only luke warm, hash browns, beans and beef bacon didn't remain hot on counter. Staff work hard to get you a table and clear plates. Nice to see tables being properly cleaned and hotel has plenty of hand sanitizer stations throughout hotel (as Coronavirus has been problematic).

I'd highly recommend this hotel which was fantastic value for money. I'll definite return to this hotel and would use other hotels in the Aloft (Marriott Bonvoy) chain.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in February 2020. We had a Sweet Suite which was spacious, clean, well stocked with toiletries, minibar and so on. The views from the bedroom and the balcony of the 5th floor are lovely. They get full afternoon sun and of course, sunsets in the evenings. There didn’t seem to be a theme to the oddments of furniture and I’ve not encountered the main wardrobe in the bathroom before but it all worked well.

We met so many really nice, friendly and helpful staff here. They don’t wear name badges, so I’m sorry if I miss someone or don’t spell names correctly. Saydar was such a pleasant individual and nothing was too much trouble for him. Bali at the pool bar was great and Shakira at the lobby bar was a character. It was always good to see them. Drink prices are reasonable anyway but happy hour at the pool is 5-7pm and at the lobby bar it is 8-10pm. There is a snack bar in the lobby where drinks and snacks can be purchased at sensible prices and you are within walking distance of several small shops for other bits.

Whilst we really loved it here, there are a few little issues that might be important to you. The breakfast gets really busy at times and is a bit limited in some respects, such as fresh fruit, cereal or yoghurts for example. The pool area is small and there are only about 24 sun loungers for a 200 room hotel. There are some tables too and sunken seating areas in the pool. Pool towels are readily available. The beach is beautiful but it’s a short walk away. You can always get a golf cart if mobility is an issue or you're carrying things.

Other hotels or bars on the beach have offers to use sun loungers if you want to relax there. We enjoyed walking along this beach. One morning we watched locals pull their net in and a see what they had caught. A Brahminy Kite even swooped to get a fish off the beach that was thrown by one of the fishermen. You’ll see reef heron and even collared kingfishers, if it’s quiet enough.

Lunch and evening meals here were very nice. The food from the main menu was tasty and good portions, at sensible prices too. The advantage over the local restaurants is the pleasant air conditioning. In the restaurant, Jess, Hanis and Meimei were all very attentive and pleasant staff. We didn’t try the themed buffets in the evenings but they all looked good if you fancy that.

Would we come back? Without hesitation, there’s so much to like here.

We stayed here for 7 nights after spending 2 in the North part of the island (see my Tanjung Rhu Resort review). I mentioned I. My review how friendly it was there. This hotel has more of a relaxed and modern vibe about it but the staff as just as engaging and friendly.
Jon and and Bali in the pool bar are legends!! The cocktails they make are absolute fantastic and they remember things you say to them and make you feel right at home.
The pool was so warm and lovely with a great view over the sea, which is great for sunsets. The beds there aren’t a lot, we were there a week before Malaysia went into lockdown due to COVID and we still had trouble getting loungers at the pool some days so if COVID wasn’t even around and it was busier I can imagine this being more difficult so this was a slight negative for me.
The restaurant was fantastic and we enjoyed all the food we ate here across lunches and dinners. It’s the most I’ve eaten at a hotel when not all inclusive as it was so delicious. I have written separate review on this.
The rooms were clean and very spacious and would definitely recommend paying a bit extra to get a sea view as the seaviews are amazing especially at sunset.
Staff at XYZ bar were also great and the openness of this bar are fantastic as many other s were engaging with each other and we made a few friends - some of whom we ended up going on an evening trip with!
My only downside is that the offer we booked (direct with hotel) was two free pieces of laundry a day. First day we put two pieces in and they took over 2 days to come back and we never got another laundry bag, so we didn’t get to take advantage of that. However I don’t usually do laundry at hotels so it’s a disadvantage but didn’t hinder my experience. If it’s a hot day and you have the energy you can walk down to the shops in about 20 minutes and to the other beach, they also offer a buggy service to the beach in front.
It was so well priced also we were impressed and hope to visit again soon!

From the second our taxi arrived at the hotel and we were greeted by bell boys who opened the doors and took care of our baggage to checkout everything was spot on. Hotel is not two years old and is top notch. Large bathroom, king size bed with perfect mattress and bedding. Large tv, fridge, iron and ironing board. Balcony with comfortable furniture. Pool area is attractive, clean and modern. Restaurant is outstanding with five evenings having different kinds of buffets and an a la carte menu. Food and drinks wonderfully cooked and made. So good we never ate anywhere else on our week visit. Staff as good as you will find anywhere in the world although sometimes we couldn't understand each other. Highly recommend will be back next year if Corona let's us travel.

Visiting to Aloft for breakfast and dinner was a great experience.I feel secured to dine in the restaurant especially for breakfast buffet. Every guests are advised to wear gloves when approaching the buffet counter. For dinner, the cutleries are well sanitised and placed in a glass.

Most importantly, I am amazed by the services provided by the staff in the restaurant. Belle gave clear explanation about the procedure when I stepped into the restaurant. Being a host of restaurant, She was attentive and responsible. She was always there to provide us assistance. Thank you for your extra miles in finding us a mask and checking the food availability with kitchen for us. Besides, during the dinner,we met Nurul, who is very polite and always shows a smiling face to us.So kind of her providing us a fruit platter, it makes our days.

Food provided by the chef was so tempting and delicious, especially the veggie burger. Will definitely visit to Aloft again in the future!

The Aloft is part of the Marriott group and has a touch of class about it. Just about a year old, the property is new, modern, clean and well maintained.

The breakfast spread is fairly extensive and there's something for everyone's taste buds. My wife loved the the roti canai there and spoke to chef Firdaus about making it. He graciously agreed to meet us on his day off and taught her how to make it. My wife also participated in a cooking class the hotel had organized as part of their activities. Chef Auri gave my wife some helpful tips about Malaysian cooking post the class as well

We were too tired to step out for dinner the first night that we arrived, and had dinner at their restaurant. It was easily some of the best food we had in Langkawi, so much so, that I had the same claypot noodles as our last meal before we headed back to the airport.

They have a gorgeous swimming pool with jacuzzis to laze around in. The poolside bar makes some lovely cocktails which are quite reasonably priced and comparable to what you would pay for at any beach side restaurant at pantai cenang.

It's a 3 minute walk across the road to pantai Tengah and a short cab ride to pantai cenang.

The service is efficient and comes with oodles of smiles. A special shout out to Hannis who is part of the restaurant staff. On our last day during an early dinner, she realised that we had to head to the airport and she offered to drop us there. Not only that she waited for us to finish despite having finished her shift, that too on her birthday! It's certainly things like these that one remembers long after the vacation is over.

Aloft Langkawi seems to be a relatively new hotel, with amazing staff hospitality. The king size rooms are nice and airy, with a view of the sea (7th floor). It does have a slight business hotel feel to it, maybe that is cause the rooms do not have a bathtub. Otherwise, it's in a very nice location - Pantai Tengah beach is 5 mins buggy ride (compliments of the hotel) and Cenang beach is about 10-15 mins by Grab taxi.

The breakfast spread is huge and quite amazing. We became fans of the beef rendang, chicken curry/ parota & noodles from the live station.

Only slight improvement area could be the service at dinner - we chose to eat at the Nook one of the nights and our waitress disappeared after a while, leaving us to keep waving to catch attention.

This is a new hotel and it’s very modern and clean. We were upgraded to a room that had 2 sun beds on the balcony and a great sea view. The hotel isn’t on the beach but you can walk there in 5 minutes or the staff will take you there on a golf buggy! The staff are really helpful and friendly. The pool is lovely although there were not enough sun beds when we arrived, maybe the staff should remove towels from beds when people haven’t returned to them after a certain amount of time. There was also a strange seating area in the middle of the pool that nobody used. Design over function I think. The rooms and hotel are lovely. I liked the fact that they supplied flip flops. Breakfast was excellent and the chef that made the roti was a delight, as was his roti. My only gripe is the lack of a mirror in the bedroom, really useful if you want to get ready while someone is using the bathroom. As with most of the hotels we stayed in you are no longer supplied with small bottles of shampoo etc. I absolutely agree with this but have found that the separate shampoo and conditioner is replaced with the single conditioning shampoo which is rubbish so we had to purchase conditioner from a local shop, not expensive but a bit of a pain. Just a note for the ladies for when your hair has had a lot of sun!

There are loads of restaurants within walking distance and you can hire scooters pretty much next door. If you are planning a trip to Koh Lipe then check where you are departing from as there are 2 ferry ports on Langkawi one 5 mins from Aloft the other 35 minutes away by taxi.

Would highly recommend this hotel if you’re staying in Langkawi.
