We checked in after 5:30pm, but we were pretty hungry, so we asked for dinner at 6pm. We each hurried to the outdoor baths, and although it wasn't a hot spring, the temperature was just right.
However, the next morning, when the men's and women's baths were switched, we went to Tenpyo-no-Yu, but it was really loud, probably because of the boiler right next to the outdoor bath, and I wondered if there was anything we could do about it.
We couldn't enjoy the birds singing and the fresh air, so we left early.
For dinner, we ordered a seasonal Japanese banquet.
The menu was themed around cherry blossoms, and everything was very delicious and beautiful.
The lily roots were carved to look like cherry blossom petals and were written as petal lily roots, but the vinegared dish had been renamed to cherry blossom snow, which was also fun.
The garden that could be seen from the private dining room was also very beautiful, and we enjoyed both the night and the morning.
Our room had an open-air bath, and the water was already filled, so we were able to relax and enjoy the night view before going to bed.
The heat retention time was quite long (8-9 hours?), and it would have been nice if they had said something about the bath already being filled when we were shown to our room.
There was a guide on the desk about how to prepare for the next morning's bath, so we read it while taking another bath in the morning.
I'd like to visit again when I'm in Nara. It was a nice inn.
For dinner, we had sukiyaki.
The Nara-produced Hinohikari rice and pickles were delicious. The portion of the hotpot was so large that even two of us, who are pretty big eaters, were too full to eat, so I think that people who are slim or who are satisfied with a normal amount of food might not be able to finish it. But the taste was very satisfying.
I thought that the open-air bath is not suitable for the season when there are a lot of insects.
I liked that the TV in the room was the type that could connect to video streaming sites such as YouTube and Netflix.
One thing that I found a little inconvenient was that there was no clock in the room. I think there wasn't one. I thought it was a shame to have to check the time on my cell phone. I also thought it would have been helpful to have a full-body mirror. I wish I could have taken a full-body photo in the yukata.
One more thing, when I tried to eat the cup ramen sold at the convenience store, there were no chopsticks in the room, so I thought it would have been nice if they had disposable chopsticks or something.
The only disappointing thing was that the yukata had a lot of creases in the fabric at the front, which bothered me a bit. When I searched for other inns, many of them only had women's yukatas, so it was great that they had men's! They had L-sized ones in the room, and even though I'm pretty big, I was able to wear them properly, so that was great.
I'd like to try shabu-shabu, enjoy the open-air bath more, and since this time the bath was made of Shigaraki ware, I'd like to soak in a cypress bath, so I'd like to stay here again!
There weren't many people staying that day, the toilets and washrooms in the rooms were clean, the food was delicious, the milk monaka (?) sold at the shop was delicious, the area around the inn was beautiful with lots of nature, and the Japanese atmosphere was lovely and great!
It was raining when we arrived at the inn, so they came to the car immediately with an umbrella to pick us up, and we were saved from getting wet.
We checked in at the lobby with a great view, and we had a leisurely cup of matcha tea while looking at the Great Buddha Hall and the five-story pagoda, and then we were shown to our room.
The building is quite old and has a worn-out feel, but considering its long history, I think it's appropriate.
The room also has an old-fashioned feel, but like the lobby, the wide windows overlook the view of Nara, and as time passed, the night view of the city was beautiful and relaxing.
We had dinner in our room, and ordered both a wagyu beef kaiseki and a fish-rich Japanese kaiseki, and enjoyed both flavors. The waitress who took care of the meal was very nice, and was able to join in on our family's small conversations.
She told us that the cherry blossom season is very beautiful, so next time I would like to visit when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
There are two large public baths and two open-air baths, and men and women take turns so we were able to enjoy both baths in the evening and in the morning.
My elderly mother was also happy to be able to relax in the large bath and said it felt very comfortable.
After checking out and as we were returning to the car, a man from the inn standing outside asked us if he wanted us to take a photo, and he took a wonderful photo for us.
It was a weekday and the building was laid back, so it was just the right atmosphere to go with my elderly parents.
I would like to visit again when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
I put it with dinner and breakfast.
It was gorgeous and filling and delicious. The room where you eat was also good in a private room with a view ☺️
After dinner, there was also a bus tour service where you could go to see the night view of Mt.
I made it a room with an open-air bath.
I had a wonderful time relaxing and relaxing in the public bath and the open-air bath in my room.
The morning bath while watching the sunrise was also great ✨️
I would like to use this when sightseeing in Nara again ☺️
Thank you very much.
As it was our anniversary, we requested a cake in advance, and they surprised us with it at the perfect time, just as dinner was coming to an end, which became a wonderful memory.
Also, because dinner was delicious and filling, they lent us cutlery so that we could eat the cake in our room, and it was great to be able to leisurely savor the delicious cake from a local patisserie in the comfort of our room.
The food and bath were great, but the air conditioner in the room was loud and bothersome, so I will deduct one point.
Finally, we had our commemorative photo taken with deer headbands at the entrance to the building, which became a fond memory.
The view was amazing, and I would like to stay here during the autumn leaves or cherry blossom season next time.
Thank you very much.
The quantity and quality of the food are reasonable for the price of the stay. The special guest room (with a ceramic tub in the terrace) is spacious and comfortable.
・The rice is delicious
・The scenery of the open-air bath and restaurant made use of nature, which made me feel relaxed.
・Staff responded well
・Comfortable facilities even with babies
The staff's response is flexible and speedy. The care for the 1 year old was also amazing.
Isn't it a good idea to promote on the website that it is easy to spend time with a baby, such as the preparation of Bumbo and the provision of baby cots in the large bath? I think so.
One thing that bothered me was the communication regarding reservations.
In accordance with the reservation form on the official website, we informed you in advance that you would be visiting by car and that you would not be allowed to eat raw foods or alcohol since there was a pregnant woman.
However, after that, I was reconfirmed by email and phone, and I am left wondering what the input was when making the reservation.
It's fine if they double or triple check things to make sure there are no mistakes, but if such software coordination isn't going well, I'd be even happier if it could be improved.
However, overall I am very satisfied.
If I have the opportunity to travel to Nara again, this is an inn I would consider visiting again.
1. There was trash (tissues) left in the large bath.
2. There was hair in the locker. I would like them to check and clean the lockers.
3. They didn't even help us choose a yukata, the service staff seemed unmotivated, and when they showed us to our room, they didn't even provide slippers. It was very disappointing that it was not a pleasant experience for us as guests.
4. I'm glad that the hotel was fully booked every day, but I wish they would have done a better job of cleaning and hospitality.
The miso shiitake mushrooms for breakfast were especially tasty.
The baths were also relaxing both in the evening and in the morning.
The view of Nara from the lobby was also amazing, and the free coffee service in the morning was very relaxing.
I was also impressed by how attentive the staff were.
I get carsick easily so I don't like driving on mountain roads, but on the way back, there was time to take photos of Todaiji Temple, which can be seen from the mountain, and the driver drove slowly so I was happy that I didn't get carsick.
The only thing I was disappointed about was that I didn't get to experience the night bar.
