The ANA Crowne Plaza Narita is often commended for its cleanliness and the friendly service provided by its staff, including a handy shuttle service to Narita Airport, which many guests find convenient. Despite the comfort and spaciousness some travelers experience, there are mixed reviews about the hotel's atmosphere and room conditions, with several noting the need for modernization.
The dining options and on-site convenience store are popular, though opinions on value vary, with some criticism directed at the hotel's dated facilities.

Detailed Reviews
I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Narita for a quick three-night stay. Here are my views of the hotel.
Hotel Staff: The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I have been lucky in my travels to Japan, the staff at various hotels have been helpful.
Room: I had the room facing the airport. I was hoping to see a lot more of the airport action but the most I saw was planes landing or taking off. Since the hotel is some distance away from the airport there was not much to see. The size was great since it was just me. If my wife came along, I think we would be okay. Anything more than two people might be a little tight.
Location: The hotel is about a 10-minute shuttle ride from the Narita airport. There is a free shuttle between the hotel and the airport, check the website for the times of the shuttle. As others have mentioned, there is nothing around the hotel that you can walk to safely. There is a Family Mart in the lobby if you need to purchase drinks or snacks.
Shuttle Service: There is a shuttle service that goes between the hotel, Narita Airport, Narita train station, and a Aeon Mall. When I was there, the shuttle for the airport started at 6:00 am and for the train station and Aeon Mall started at about 11:00 am. When I was there, the shuttles were on time, so I would recommend get to the stop before the scheduled time.
Going to Tokyo: Both days I went into Tokyo. Since I did not rent a car, nor did I want to pay for an Uber or taxi into Tokyo, I had to do the following:
-Take the shuttle to Narita Airport.
-From Narita Airport I took the train into Tokyo. I could use the Narita Express, Narita Skyliner, the regular commuter train, or I could purchase a bus ticket to one of the hotels in Tokyo. Both days I used the Skyliner train which took about one hour into Ueno station.
-Returning back to the hotel, the last shuttle left Narita airport at 11:00 pm so I had to make sure I was back before that time.
I chose the Crowne Plaza Narita because I made a last minute booking so the other hotels in Tokyo was in the $400-$1,000 per night range and the Crowne Plaza was about $160. The Crowne Plaza is a great hotel and if you can work around the shuttle schedule, using the shuttle is convenient. Just know that getting to your location might take some additional time and effort. For me the time and cost to get to where I wanted to go was still a lot less than staying in Tokyo.

Despite what the website says, there is an airport shuttle bus, which is shared with the Art Hotel. Breakfast buffet was excellent. You are given plastic gloves for the buffet and there are plexiglass dividers on the tables. There is also a shuttle to Narita town. The pool was a nice temperature and a good size although the opening hours are limited. Air crew stay here.

Like most airport hotel, this one is no exception other than being managed by one of the largest hotel chain. The hotel definitely has seen its better day and everything in the hotel is very dated.
The hotel is located less than 15 mins from the Narita Airport and they provide shuttle service to and from the hotel at every hour and 20 mins of the hour from the hotel. Room wise as already expected is very old Japanese style but is clean and spacious which is rather rare in Japan.
Being an airport hotel, there are also several airlines crew that stay in the hotel as well so the convenience store can be rather crowded at some hours.
Overall the hotel is only good if you have an early flight to catch out of Narita or if you arrive very late in the night .

Hotel's Favourite
Great service and warm staff at the check in counter. Shuttle service to and from airport was punctual and quite useful. Rooms were reasonably good for 1 night as I believe most folks will stay for transit to flight (looked a bit old though). Quite useful was 24 by 7 convinience store in the lobby. All in all great place to stay if you are transiting and want to catch a flight.

This hotel is located a couple of kilometres from Narita Airport. It is easy to get to by car and the hotel offers a free twice hourly full sized bus direct from the hotel to the airport. These are the only positives about this hotel.
Check in was a poor experience. The woman who served us was rude which was quite a shock after two weeks in Japan where everybody had been friendly. Her manner changed dramatically when she recognised our IHG Platinum status but the damage had already been done. Irrespective of who you are front desk staff should treat everybody courteously.
We had room 1209 and it was a cookie cutter airport hotel room. It was small. The bed was uncomfortable and internal sound proofing was non-existent. The paper thin walls meant we heard plenty of neighbouring noise and got no sleep. The bathroom was also small and awkwardly appointed meaning you had to maneouvre around a low wall to not hit yourself.
To consider this a Crowne Plaza is disappointing and can not be recommended.

I appreciated the free hotel shuttle and that you are not required to call in advance as we did not have phone service in Japan. The shuttle doesn't come very often at night, though, so it was a bit of a wait. We were fortunate to catch the last one of the evening. This hotel was convenient for a one-night stay since our Zip Air flight got in so late that we didn't feel comfortable traveling further into Tokyo. There's a convenience store in the lobby at which you can top off your IC card if you already come with one. They also sell some snacks and other supplies. The lobby rules seem strict, like no eating on their couches. Overall the hotel was nice and I would stay there again.

It was almost a year since I last visited this place. and my stay this time was awsome as always. I recommend this hotel to anybody who visit Japan. I booked two rooms, one with paid stay, the other one point stay. I have requested two rooms to be close each other, which were arranged side by side. With a membership of IHG Gold, which have been with me for 3 years during the pandemic even with no paid stay , I was eligible to get my rooms upgraded to the ones with airport view although I paid only JPY500 in advance through the email sent by IHG. The hotel was generous to upgrade both rooms with 500 Yen. The gold membership also gave me, including other 3, free access to indoor swimming pool and bath with sauna, which we used twice during our stay. Not to mention were we entitled to the late checkout until 14:00. Even with regular IHG membership status, you will get discount 50% in morning buffet costing only JPY1,200 per pseron. Now with all three restrants are back in full operation, you can dine in if you wish. The hotel have free shuttle bus from / to the airport and AEON mall that give more variety of eateris. We ate at a sushi restaurant near AEON mall as we had a private car. We had a lot of fun shopping liqures at the mall and eating sushi on the day before departure. Our flight were on 11th August 17:50 departing to Singapore. which was the buisiet day for Narita Airport as many people went off overseas in the middle of summer holiday season. We used the room until 14:00 and ther were no hassle at checking out and driving to the airport parking lot. Because of the ANA Crowne Plaza Narita, we were able to get refreshed as wever.

Due to an extended holiday here this week for the Japanese, we were unable to book online the weekend for our planned 6-day vacation here in Narita.
We were able to book the hotel for Thursday/Friday & Monday/Tuesday and were forced to find something for the weekend.
The General Manager Russell Sheppard and assistant Hiroki Sato came to our rescue! Mr. Sheppard graciously was able to extend our stay through the weekend , upgrade our room and sincerely solve our dilemma with a minimum amount of inconvenience to us.
This is noteworthy especially since we were headed out of the hotel with bags packed in an effort to obtain an alternative weekend accommodation.
Mr. Sheppard seemed a to sense our predicament and was able to solve the issue even though the front desk personnel had not been able to effect the over-booking issue for the weekend.
In retrospect, we should have sought out the General Manage early on in our stay. Lesson learned that sometimes it’s best to ‘go to the top’ when faced with apparent insurmountable issues!
The Hotel has been perfect for us in location to Narita, free scheduled shuttle bus service to both Aeon Mall and the Narita Train Station. Not to mention the scheduled free airport transfer service!
All the hotel staff we’ve encountered have been polite and genuinely helpful in all regards. The rooms refreshingly clean and comfortable and the restaurants excellent.
It’s obvious that Russell Sheppard the General Manager and his staff is committed to provide the best possible service & experience for their guests.
Thanks!

Overnight stay 3pm -> 10am while waiting on an overnight connection. This is one of the closer hotels and the price was reasonable, so we decided to give it a try despite mixed reviews.
The airport shuttle leaves from the same spot as all of the other hotel shuttles, and there is a board posted there indicating the shuttle arrival times for each hotel. The Crown Plaza shares a shuttle with one other hotel but this causes a negligible delay. Shuttles in the morning are quite frequent.
The room was fine, and we saw no sign of issues reported by others. Either they were transitory, or the hotel is attentive to fixing reported problems. Anyway, we had a good choice of pillows for the bed and everything else in the room seemed in order. Yes, the room is on the small size, but it wasn't uncomfortable for the two of us. The internet worked well, and the desk was fine to get a bit of work done.
The one previous comment I will affirm is that the bed is a very hard-style Japanese bed. Interestingly, as I normally sleep on a much softer mattress and have lower back problems, I actually slept very well on this bed, and woke without aches and pains. I have tried firmer mattresses before and did not have this experience, so while the mattress is hard, it wasn't an issue.
The breakfast buffet, which I went ahead and prepurchased with the room, is truly excellent. It offers a variety of both asian and western-style breakfast food, with freshly baked pastries. I'm not normally a big breakfast person, and I ate way too much.
Overall a very satisfying overnight stay. Is it a 5 star hotel, well, no, but it is quite decent for the price.

I went there for the first time in five or six years.
The smoking space at the entrance of the hotel disappeared, and it was good that it did not smell of tobacco when entering the hotel (it was smelly and hard before)
I have a breakfast buffet every time, but personally I'm sorry that my porridge is gone. But basically it's a satisfying breakfast buffet. The small restaurant makes it easy to pick it up.
Convenient when flying from Narita

Dear "br1anlchoef",
As the hotel is located very close to the Narita airport, you can fly to Hiroshima with ANA airlines, you can google NRT to HIJ and you will get more information. If you have time, you wanted a more scenic route, you can go by bullet train. Narita airport to Tokyo station and then a bullet train to Hiroshima.
Regards
Paul Tsuji
General Manager
Dear "Gina M",
If you could advise where it is listed as pet friendly so that we can revise the statement. The hotel can provide information about pet hotels near by.

The best thing to do is once you come out of baggage area there will sliding glass doors. After the doors as you come out the will be a line of tour agencies, information desks, money changes and so forth.
Walk up to any off them and ask where the pick up is the for hotel shuttle buses. It is very easy and saves time walking around trying to figure things out. The shuttle bus runs about every 45 minutes and takes about 15 minutes or less to get to ANA Crowne. Nice hotel, very clean with a convenience store in the main lobby.
Hope this helps.
