Good sized rooms for Japan! Great amenities!
Close to both regional train stations (within 2 blocks!).
Very good pricing and the breakfast option (about $16 CAD) was worth the money.
Good selection of "North American" foods available for breakfast.
Recommend you request a "Japanese Room" if possible - the "American Rooms" are a bit larger with bigger TV but you lose the bidet toilet with heated seat!

Old hotel. Musty smell from room once door opened, stains on ceiling like old water stains. No shuttle bus, told to get train. Only one mirror in bathroom, fridge also in bathroom area. 1 sink area only (in bathroom). Very close to train station. Narita nice area to stroll around.

For the price I paid (around GBP £55 per night) this hotel cannot be faulted in any way. It provides a free shuttle bus to and from Narita airport although it is not terribly regular so check the times with the hotel first. It is very near one of the railway stations so this is another option of travel from the airport (I used the shuttle bus). The room was small(ish) as is often the way in Japan, however it was very clean and comfortable. I opted for the hot breakfast buffet (priced at around 1500 Yen) and this was good value and of good quality. The staff were efficient and happy to help with any enquiries and internet service was available from the hotel bar. If you require a nice hotel for a night or two in Narita then the Mercure will not dissapoint you.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Our room in the Annex section of the Welco Hotel was dated and dirty, especially in the bathroom. We had to wipe down the surface area before putting things down. The room was damp and had a faint cigarette smell. The bed was not comfortable and the WIFI didn't work. I tried asking the front desk for help with the WIFI and he just kept telling me to follow the instructions pamphlet in the room. I gave up since we were leaving early the next morning. Fortunately, we stayed only one night (checked in at night and left early the next morning).

For years I have used other TA members' reviews as a helpful source for booking hotels and it has worked well except this time.

I booked this hotel through a third party booking site and I noticed that they still haven't published my review of this hotel on their verified guests site(it's been over 2 weeks). They have however, published my favourable reviews on other Japanese hotels.

Hotel in a convenient location. However it’s very, very old and needs a complete renovation. My room was really old looking, yellowing curtains, bathroom looked like no one had cleaned it in years. The sink had a crack in it. I was scared to use the bathroom, toilet. But as there was no others place to stay in Narita. My friends had stayed here before the they loved the hotels location. Guess I should have asked them about the room too.

I had wipes so I wiped everything down. Cleaned the bathroom the best I could. I was going to ask for another room, but decided it would be too much trouble. The hallways smell like cigarettes. Sad to say I won’t be staying here again. No recommendations.

Nice property, very close to airport, with free shuttle bus to and from the airport. JR station is close by. We stayed here because we activated our JR pass only from the next day due to our arrival time at Narita. We took the shuttle bus. There’s a very nice restaurant outside this property very close, within a few minutes walk. Rooms are small like in any other similar property in Japan. First time I saw bath tub made by Yamaha inside the bathroom, this was really surprising for me!

Strong smell of stale smoke throughout hotel and in room. Shower curtain and carpets stained. Room very hot and stuffy, no ability to open window and no individually controlled air con. It was hard to sleep due to the heat and the smell was very strong.

I have stayed at five different hotels in the Narita aiprort, on my way from Australia to London.
This hotel, while being a little further from the airport than other hotels, is the best I have stayed at.
Its modern, clean, well managed and a joy to stay at.
The price I paid, about $60USD was very good value, and the food and service from the staff wqas 5 star in a 3 star hotel.
Thoroughly recommend this hotel if travelling through Narita Airport.

This hotel is perfect for a day/night stop over in Narita. Narita is a small traditional little town with some interesting things to do. The people are friendly. This hotel is in between the two train stations in Narita so you have the choice of both trains. It is in good walking distance to the buddhist temple (a must see it is beautiful and you can spend a few hours there if you are interested in these types of things) and the shops. I arrived very early in the morning and they did not seem to have my booking but it wasn't a problem, they gave me a better room for the same rate that was on my travel documents which was $125AUD (incl breakfast). I ended up with two double beds. It is a clean hotel, an older hotel, the carpet is abit tired but as far as your bed and bathroom are concerned it is comfortable, in a great location and value for money. The front staff were helpful and helped me with how to get into Tokyo and what station to get off at. They spoke very good english. They have Qantas and British Airways staff staying there also. If you don't want to be right by the airport and you want to see Narita and Tokyo you can stay here. I saw most of Narita in half a day then took the train (about an hour) into Tokyo and had a wander around there. Dinner in Narita was not expensive either (not as much as i had planned anyway). I went to a traditional teppenyaki bar and sat on a stool watching them cook my dinner and just selected bit by bit what i wanted to eat. I spent less money than i had expected too and had money left over from what i budgeted. I would imagine to eat in Tokyo would have been alot more. Overall a great place to stay, close enough to the airport for flying out the next day and the train service is good.

Hi vincentnghc Misread your question. I thought you were arriving at Narita Airport. You are arriving at Haneda Airport unless you wrote the wrong airport. Hotel Bus only goes from Narita, to Welco Hotel Narita not from Haneda Airport. If you really are arriving at Haneda then Google 'How to get from Haneda Airport to Narita Airport'. There is a Airport Transfer Bus which appears to cost Y3100 and is about 1 hour to 1hr 15 mins.(63 kms between airports by road). There is a train connection and of course Taxi. All the best either way.

We stayed at the Mercure hotel at Narita in June 2018, and I don't know if it has since then changed its name to "Hotel Welco". I'm afraid I don't recall whether there was a hairdryer when we stayed at Mercure hotel at Narita. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

how do I find details of airport shuttle?
Answer from David H

Ask at the terminal info desk when you land. The shuttle runs from just outside but you’ll need directions.

Good question as I had same situation. Best to take taxi as you Have to go to terminal two for shuttle and push your luggage there and its a fair walk. Taxi are great and only takes about 20 to 30min depending on traffic. Cost is reasonable too for the convenience and ease if you have a lot of luggage.
