Movenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay Aqaba is often celebrated for its enchanting atmosphere and pristine cleanliness, with guests particularly enjoying the spotless rooms and beautiful beachfront. While the hotel's location earns high marks for its stunning sea views, some guests feel the pricing does not reflect the value, citing costly food and a lack of complimentary amenities. The staff's friendliness and professionalism are frequently praised, though there are occasional service inconsistencies. Amenities are family-friendly and diverse, despite some reports of limited gym facilities.

I just needed a break from being stuck at home all the time because of the pandemic, so once Ramadan started and everything closed I decided to treat myself by staying at the Movenpick at Tala Bay. This is a fancy pants hotel y'all. I usually can't afford to stay at the Movenpick, but I think the prices were lower because of the pandemic preventing international tourists from visiting, which was great for me!

Pros:
super clean room with a nice bed & huge Samsung TV
lovely balcony with table & chairs & drying rack for your swimwear
wifi everywhere on the premises, even the beach
awesome swimming pools with at least one slide connecting two
infinity pool section facing the sea
lots of shallow ledge space in the pools for chilling & staying cool
tons of clean & not broken beach lounge chairs around the pools & on the beach
tons of umbrellas & trees next to the chairs
coral reefs & fish to look at while snorkeling
beautiful landscaping everywhere
super friendly & amazing staff (especially in the dining area!)
breakfast & dinner during daylight hours even though it's Ramadan!
indoor & outdoor seating for meals
you can order drinks during the day at the pool & beach
you can eat & drink anywhere on the premises even though it's Ramadan!
not many hotel guests (yay no crowds or waiting) maybe because pandemic, maybe because Ramadan

Cons:
beach is on the shorter side compared to the other time I went to Tala Bay, so there's less coral reefs to explore. there's a private beach for the apartments next door that's connected to the Movenpick private beach, but I wasn't allowed to go there (I think because of the pandemic)
can't bring outside food in (this might be a pandemic rule too)

Pandemic precautions:
they sanitize your luggage with this spray when you check in
you have to self-park, no valet
all the staff wear masks & gloves

Things closed because of the pandemic:
all the restaurants except one (breakfast is included, if you get dinner included too you get buffet options, if you didn't get dinner included there's some sort of menu you can order from, no lunch served but you can order room service I think)
spa
gym
jacuzzi
maybe more, but this is what I noticed while I was there

Being the first family vacation after the Covid lockdown I was a bit worried.
Once we arrived to the hotel no valet for the car or anyone to carry your luggage cause of the Covid.
Every staff member is wearing a mask and gloves and sanitizer dispensers are everywhere. You might feel weird at the beginning but you relax once you know it’s for your own safety.
Very friendly staff at check in. Rooms extra clean with housekeeping staff cleaning and disinfecting the rooms all the time. Housekeeping manager Mr. Tareq introduced himself and made sure to ask if we ever needed anything or have any remarks pretty much on daily bases.
Breakfast was a new experience since it’s served seated now. But again you can order anything you want and no one would really object to any quantity. Staff very friendly specially a waiter named Mekhled. He would ask and check all the time even if we are not seated at his zone. The staff moves as fast as they can but keep in mind that it’s not a normal situation so it might take few minutes more to get your orders but it’s understandable and the staff will always apologize for any delay.
Kids slide pool was the joy for my kids and what made it even more fun to my kids are the life guards Laith and Saif. They were super friendly with the kids and the kids enjoyed being around them as much as they enjoyed the slide.
If you wish to order anything while on the slide pool make sure to order it from the waiter Roy. Super friendly and will always take extra mile to make you happy.

Lunch at the restaurant next to the slide pool was very tasty. However sometimes you would wait a little more to get the food. I guess a bit under staffed. But ask for the manager Ra’ad and he will certainly calm you down and explain everything going on in a very professional way.
Dinner is also served seated. Delicious food and the head chef Mohammed would pass by the tables personally to hear any remarks or comments every night. Portions of the food are a bit too much. You can’t finish the full course of dinner even if you are starving.
Yoga class was a vocal point for me. Didn’t expect to see one in Aqaba in these situations. Coach Alexandra was so professional and at the same time didn’t mind that my kids wanted to join. She was super friendly with the kids but at the same time made sure we take a real relaxing Yoga lesson.

I know it’s not a normal situation but with the staff members wearing the masks and the gloves in this heat in Aqaba and still trying as hard as they can to please all the guests honestly hats off for them.

Great experience.

We booked a superior sea view room which was clean, modern with large Flat screen and Specious with complimentary fruits, tea and coffee.

The hotel was quiet during the Christmas break and beach was peaceful.

Lovely, lovely staff. All The staff were so helpful, friendly, kind, and went out of their way to help you.

Food was wonderful, good variety in the buffet and very tasty. The head chef was observing the service and he was a true leader. all staff and guests spoke highly of him. Don’t assume that they serve caviar but the quality and taste of middle eastern food, fish, lamb and vegetarian dishes were very good.

We had a couple of experiences that proved generally the Jordanians are very hospitable. They don’t hassle you to buy anything.

Petra is a great place to visit.

Definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and my family.

It was our first holiday after Ramadan and the COVID curfew. My kids were looking forward for some free time and activities. So the best option was the Movenpick and they never failed us.
Check in took few minutes. We arrived and found that rooms were assigned and keys are ready.
Beautiful clean with all the needed COVID protection tools from masks and hygiene already placed in the rooms.
House keeping made sure my kids get some excitement with shapes made from the pillows on daily bases along with some cookies for Eid holiday. ( pictures attached ) Mr. Saber made sure to check on any remarks or notes daily.

The pool was amazing as usual. Super friendly life guards who really made sure the kids have all the fun. Laith and Basil you are amazing.

Food was still seated due to COVID restrictions but the choices are beyond what we needed. Staff like Sameer, Mikhled, ahmad and chef Mohammad were awesome. Helping all the time and making sure to ask with every meal about our notes and remarks. The taste of the food was really amazing specially at dinner.

The nutrition expert Saba made sure to ask my mother on her special food needs and personally served her. That’s way and beyond her job but I guess that’s the movenpick spirit. 👏👏👏

Lunch was usually next to the slide pool restaurant. Mr. Raad who remembered us from our last visit was awesome with his service and recommendations. Roy was awesome, he took care of all the needs of my demanding kids with a great smile on his face despite the extremely hot weather. Josephine’s smile and welcoming words every time really made us feel like we are more than welcome.

In general all the staff and employees were super super super friendly.

Thank you Movenpick for an awesome stay.

The workers were all so friendly to my sister and I, on the contrary of some other 5 star hotels in Aqaba who are only nice if you are a premium or vip member.
The employee who checked us in, Ibrahim Naimat, was super friendly and he found us a great room. The breakfast staff were super friendly and made my day! I wish I had gotten their names to personally thank them.
The hotel is spotless, with sanitizers next to elevators, in the lobby, besides the rooms etc. Social distancing is practiced, our luggage was completely sanitized before entering.
Overall the hotel is beautiful and it was such a great experience.

Guest name Mohammad Masadeh

It was really very bad services
Since you check in tell you check out you get very despondent from what you see .

I was in this hotel 10 times before everything was fine and cool , as large amount we did pay this time I get nothing as 5 stars hotel service for movenpick hotel brand .

When we arrive no one help us to park the car and we have to look around to find space , and no one help us to take our stuff to the front desk to check in , we was 5 people With big bags

At the front desk You don’t feel you are welcome at all , need more good attitude

Seeming pool close at 7 pm and the other movepick hotels close 8:30 pm

Herdryer in the room not working no tissue in the rooms The good things !! rooms clean I am very Happy for that

When we come to have breakfast no table available and no one help us to look for table, anyway we had breakfast out side the hotel

In the hotel our breakfast was including with room , we pay money for nothing

We did ask the front desk to see the hotel manager before we leave the hotel , we did meet mr Sami ,
He was a little helpful and accepted my criticism of the service .

I will not recommend this hotel again to my friend and my family and my clients - thank you

This was our final stay in Jordan and we were looking forward to a relaxing stay. The opportunity to get a free shuttle bus into Aqaba appealed as our driver was going home after dropping us off. We were very disappointed to find the bus wasn't running, and the on site car hire company didn't have any cars to hire just offered taxi rides. Our driver organised for a taxi driver friend to take us into Aqaba for the same price return as a single trip offered by the hotel.

The hotel was fairly quiet, although there were a lot of large family groups, with some kids going in adult only pools and jacuzzis - I think the life guards are advised not to challenge them as they never did. There are a lot of activities for kids, so I guess a good place from families to stay.

We asked for a quiet room, and had a garden view, which was quiet. We also had an extra bed room, which made it easier to keep the main bedroom tidier! Unfortunately there was noise from the balcony/ room above at times, plus kids running up and down corridors at times (I realise not the hotel's fault).

We were booked in for half board - just as well as there is very little round the hotel. The food was surprisingly good for a buffet, everything is offered on small plates or served for you, so very safe. It was a shame we couldn't use the money paid for dinner as a credit for the Italian restaurant as we would have liked to for one evening, not sure what the logic of that is, but their loss as we'd obviously have spent a lot more.

Worth noting is the shops and restaurants in the nearby marina (as above without a car its difficult to get to the facilities in Aqaba) - we had hoped to go on the "submarine" trip but it was broken/ out of service the whole time we were there.

We had a superb week here with the family in January. The setting is magical and the staff made us feel so welcome. So many activities for the children if that's what you want, alternatively they will leave you alone for a snooze on the beach.

The little things matter - we booked and paid up front for a 7 night stay, non refundable and non cancellable, however our plans changed and we decided to leave a day early. Without asking they refunded us the 1 night difference. Top service.

The service is fine, but compared to what we paid it can be considered overpriced, house keeping service is slow, you need to call them multiple times sometimes, the bedsheets were clean but worn out and old.
The food served is clean, but lacks flavors in other words “tasteless” .. but it is edible for who is hungry and got no other restaurant to go since we are away from the city and everything.
Breakfast management is bad and totally out of control, they don’t keep track of who came first or who came newly and need their table cleaned or our personal orders.
The dinner management is better. But the main course options are not so varied, I advise everyone to stick with chicken and fish, because the meat served there is bad.

The adults pool was quiet and nice, unlike the family pools with the slides.
They offer clean towels near the pool which is quite nice, you don’t have to bring your towel

Movenpick is a leading hotel in this issue. From experience they do care a lote. My friend call them the first time and ask them for gluten free and he was surprised how much items they offer. It’s better to call before time incase. But the one time my friend didn’t find the chef get inside and did a lote of items for his daughter including items not even in the menu
