Perched high on a sandstone ridge, Singita Pamushana Lodge’s eight elegant suites – all with private plunge pools – is set within the 130,000-acre Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve in Zimbabwe’s remote southeast. Drawing inspiration from the rich tribal history of the region, the lodge’s design features bold geometric patterns, tile inlays and carved furniture, as well as comforting natural fabrics, raw silks and woven leather elements. The organic-shaped buildings feature detailed thatch- and stonework, carefully curated interiors, and picturesque views of the landscape and Malilangwe Dam below, while the lodge’s expansive decks deepen connections with nature. A cliff-top firepit and signature Singita ‘bar-deli’ invite al fresco dining and storytelling under the stars. The spacious suites include four 1-bedroom suites, one 2-bedroom family suite (perfect for two adults and two children), one 3-bedroom family suite (perfect for two adults and four children) and two 2-bedroom suites (ideal for four adults travelling together). The Malilangwe Reserve boasts one of the highest concentrations of the endangered black rhino and its abundant wildlife makes for unparalleled game-viewing opportunities. With private access to this untouched wilderness, guests can immerse themselves in nature on twice-daily game drives, bush walks, sundowner boat cruises, excursions to rock art sites and more. Singita Malilangwe House Set in Zimbabwe’s remote Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve, this elegant exclusive-use villa is perched alongside Singita Pamushana Lodge on a sandstone ridge and offers inimitable views of the surrounding landscape and beautiful Malilangwe Dam below. Designed for families and friends, it includes five expansive bedrooms – each with its own private deck – and offers guests the relaxed freedom to tailor-make their stay any way they want, with a dedicated private chef, game vehicle, Field Guide and host catering for their every need. Malilangwe House’s expansive living spaces include an interactive kitchen, a signature Singita ‘bar-deli’, various outdoor decks and a large rim-flow pool with panoramic views. Guests are encouraged to immerse themselves in nature and enjoy wellness experiences such as yoga and soothing massages – inside or on the decks. Inspired by the rich tribal history of the region, Malilangwe House’s décor echoes the refined luxury, yet light and airy ambience of Pamushana Lodge. The surrounding 130,000 acres of untouched wilderness add to the allure of this contemporary African home, making for an unforgettable luxury safari in a magnificent setting.

Detailed Reviews
This was our first stay at Singita Pamushana and our 3rd stay at a Singita Lodge. We loved every minute of our five day stay. The Lodge has been remodeled and is spectacular. The views from the rooms, bar and all the dining areas overlook the Malilangwe Dam, which offers guests the unique experience of a Sunset Cruise. Each suite is beautifully decorated and offers all the amenities including your own plunge pool, huge living room, firepalces, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms complete with indoor and outdoor showers.
The best part of our Pamushana experience was the staff. Warm, friendly, always there but not overwhelming. Our guide Tangwe and Tracker Meme took us on twice daily game drives as well as evening boat cruises to see many hippos, crocodiles and birds on the lake. Every experience was like an E ride at Disneyland, you never knew what you would see or where you would go, very exciting and educational. During one of the evening boat cruises, Pamushana arranged a surprise anniversary party for us out on the lake. Tich and David pulled up alongside us in a bar boat, mixing favorite cocktails with the sounds of African music, hippos and birds. Spectacular night. Valerie and Wisdom, the camp managers, were always there greeting us on our return from the game rides with wash cloths to wipe our hands and a fresh Pamushanie drink. Wisdom even played tennis with my husband who was delighted after carrying his racquet from the states. We highly recommend Pamushana!!

We stayed at Singita in January and I can honestly say it is outstanding in every aspect.
This was my second stay and my boyfriends first and from start to finish we were blown away. The service was phenomenal and each member of staff was fantastic and so personable. They take the time to learn your name and remember things you like and don't.
We had Jephat as our guide, Difficult as our tracker and Crispen as our butler. All three were amazing at their jobs and couldn't have been more helpful.
The quality and presentation of the food was unbelievable and James the chef came and met us on our first evening to discuss the menu and dietary restrictions. The cocktails were amazing and Philip had great wine recommendations every evening. The room was spectacular and the pool had an amazing view of the dam.
We went on multiple game drives and saw 4/5 of the big 5 which was such a treat as my partner had never seen any game in real life. I went for a 90 minute massage at the spa and he went fishing for the afternoon- caught a couple of tigers and bream which the kitchen turned into bream snacks for us which was a lovely touch.
Honestly I can't rave about Singita Pamushana enough - Thank you to Emily and her team for the most wonderful time.

Singita Pamushana once again performed to perfection. This was my 4th visit to this property as part of my 24th trip to Africa.
The villas are large and very comfortable. The views overlooking the lake are stunning
The hospitality is top notch. The Pamushana teams wants you to enjoy every aspect of your vacation as you want it to be.
The food and wine are Michelin level. The Chef executed a multi course wine dinner at a very high level.
The sommelier, Ngoni, is a student of wine. His knowledge will blow you away.
The dining and wine service provided by Davit was excellent.
The wildlife is at the very top our experiences over 35 years.
We were able to reunite with Guide Japhet and Trekker Difficult. We had an amazing time.
The first night featured wild dogs chasing an impala into a water hole and killing it. Only to chased off by two male lions. The two lions had no desire to wade into the mud to retrieve the impala.
Hyenas show up to harass the lions. While all this is going down on one side of the waterhole a rhino with baby cone down to drink. Then a leopard comes down to drink. Then a second leopard. This place is crazy.
We returned early the next morning to discover that the two male lions ambushed a Cape buffalo next to the waterhole.
Highly recommended

Beautiful location on private concession overlooking a lake. Lodge, pool and rooms were outstanding. Service was over the top and highly personalized to each guest. Our guide Tengwe was very knowledgeable and experienced, this was our 4th trip to Africa and he shared interesting facts and tidbits we were not aware of.
Several unique features of Pamushana - the hidden bunker behind the watering hole afforded amazing up close views of the animals - we saw rhinos, elephants, wart hogs, zebras, birds and more; walking safaris, the access to the lake and being able to go fishing and have sundowners on the water, 2000 year old cave art; wild, rugged and varied terrain; and finally the great job done by Zimbabwe and Singita in rhino protection. It was a thrill to see so many of these magnificent creatures.
Singita's robust conservation programs and what they give back to the communities around their lodges are very impressive and why we will continue to come back to Singita.

Beautiful property. Spacious Room and service was also top notch.
Valerie the manager made sure we were taken care of and got absolutely anything we wanted.
Our guide Mike and tracker Mavuto were very knowledgeable of not only the animals but also the trees and vegetation of the area. Saw 4 of the Big 5.
This place was absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to one day go back.

The lodge, accommodation, food, wine and service was excellent. We had informed Singita in advance that I was coming primarily to do photographs ( I use a Nikon D4S, D810 and a 600mm lens) as I have been coming to Africa for 10 years for that purpose. During our arrival briefing I showed our Ranger on my lap top my website and explained what I needed to achieve and what my priority animals were. We booked for 8 days, which we thought was adequate to get the majority of the images I needed and was told there would be no problem. It was very evident very early on that our Ranger had no idea how to position a vehicle for a photographer and regularly stopped with bushes in the way, looking at the back end of an animal or directly into sun (yes I know that sometimes works). I tried to explain the basic requirements to no avail. I mentioned this to the manager after 3 days but was not offered a Ranger change. On the final morning while rushing to some lions that had been seen at a watering hole the Ranger stopped the vehicle and turned off the engine twice. Once to see a Kudu and once to see an Elephant. Both of which we had seen plenty off since our arrival. By the time we arrived at the watering hole, which took 50 minutes to finally get to, the lions were just finishing drinking. Once again I was positioned with a log blocking my view of the male lion. I just had time to get a couple of photos of a lioness wearing a leather collar before they left. We had been out every day leaving at 05:30 with a packed breakfast to enable us to make the best opportunity of our time and this was our last day. It was 08:30 and we had planned to stay our until 11:00. Having just missed a finally fantastic opportunity by a couple of minutes in great light I was fairly despondent and decided to go back to the lodge for a proper breakfast for once prior to leaving. On the way back our Ranger pointed out that most people are happy to come out without a camera and just enjoy the view and be grateful for what they saw...... That just about summed it up for us. I was under the assumption the Rangers were there for my benefit and requirements as a customer. Obviously not.

Thank you for your review. We are disappointed to hear that the photographic experience did not live up to your expectation. We pride ourselves in offering carefully tailored experiences to each individual guest, ensuring that every detail is taken into account . Clearly in your case we were not able to deliver to this standard. Our team of professional guides is carefully selected and well–trained to meet the needs of individual guests. They do excel in different areas, though in your case the choice of guide should have been determined by your expressed interest in photography. Your feedback is valued and will result in a detailed analysis of the situation so that we can ensure this does not happen again We would welcome the opportunity to engage further with you and hope that we can welcome you back to Singita in the near future. So, I don't know where to begin. My husband and I have been on over 8 safaris. We have stayed at several Singita properties...all of which have been great. This trip was EXTRAORDINARY! Pamushana is a magical place. The game was incredible...wild dogs; leopard; cheetah; more cheetah; more wild dog; white rhino; black rhino...The service was the best we have experienced anywhere in the world...(and we have travelled extensively at five-star properties) and the lodge, itself, was unbelievable. A special shout out to Tich, our food server, Emily, the sommelier and "manager" and Japhet and Difficult, the best Ranger and Tracker that we have ever experienced. We were initially concerned about going to Pamushana, but it was one of the best travel decisions we have ever made. DO NOT HESITATE to experience this amazing, magical place.

My partner and I have been travelling to Southern Africa for over twenty years. We have been throughout South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. We just returned from a week a Pamushana, our first trip to Zimbabwe since 1991.
First of all, politics. We had some concerns about "Mugabe Inc." and the mess that the political situation in Zim has become. A Singita staff member in Tanzania assured us that the trip to Pamushana would not be an issue. They were correct. We had no problem flying in or out, and met the loveliest people, all native Zimbabweans. This is a very remote area in the country, where this very small camp and the conservancy have a huge impact on so many lives. Don't let Mugabe keep you from visiting.
The camp is beautiful, and is run by a team of people that will go way beyond any expectations. The rooms are large and luxurious, but VERY African -- you don't forget you are in the bush. The food is consistently excellent and varied. The spa is amazing and so well run. And, the management team, lead by Jason and Emily will quite simply anticipate your every need. We had a lovely Bush Dinner one night and our ranger, James, was so knowledgeable and fun.
The game viewing was the best we have seen for years. We saw our first "Big 7" ever at Pamushana. This includes Lion, Leopard, Rhino (black and white), Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Wild Dog and Cheetah. Lions mating, lions and cheetah on kills, and we spent an entire day with a pack of Wild Dogs. Simply amazing. We saw 125 different birds and 36 mammal species. Quite an accomplishment for winter.
We found a week to be the perfect amount of time here. The topography is so varied and interesting that none of the 14 game drives was in any way repetitive. Beautiful lakes, a river habitat, cliffs, kopjes, forests and open plains.
Pamushana is a special place. Not inexpensive, but worth every penny.

We stayed four nights at Singita Pamushana and it is, indeed, an over-the-top experience in service, food, wine, and gracious hospitality - Singita facilities never disappoint on those subjects! But we go to safari lodges primarily to experience wonderful and varied wildlife, to see new and exciting sights with excellent rangers and trackers. While our ranger was knowledgeable and charming, he never asked his guests what they wanted to see, was unresponsive regarding specific questions about certain animals and their presence (or not) in the reserve, and chose to ignore specific requests. Returning home, I read someplace that the philosophy of the Reserve is not to check off the number of species seen, but rather to take time and enjoy each wildlife encounter – and I think that best describes our wildlife experience there. It probably would have been nicer to know that in advance; watching elephants and giraffe for hours, day after day, was not the best experience on our 6th trip to Africa.
