The pool area is lovely with a small childrens pool separate to the main pool. There is a jacuzzi within the main pool. Sheets and towels are provided. There was always plenty of sunbeds.
The hotel over looks the marina and is just a nice walking distance from the main harbour where you will find lots of restaurants to chose from as well as bars if you want something a little more livelier. The old town is particularly lovely. You can walk all the way round the harbour safely. It took us about 1 hour to do so. At the end is a lovely park/garden with sculptures etc.
The river taxi to Calis beach is 40tlr per person each way (£4). Beach is okay, not sandy but more fine pebbles. Cost of 2x sunbed and rickety umbrella 60tlr.
We took a taxis to the cable cars in Babadag. Taxi was approx 160tlr and the cable cars are 170tlr per person - well worth it for the views.
We then walked to Olez Denis, which we last visited there 15 years ago. Maybe it's our age, but it seemed a bit too touristy for me! We returned to fethiye via dolmus which cost 23tlr each.
I would recommend Ece Saray Marina Hotel if you are looking for a hotel which is on the quieter side and want good service. Ideal for older couples (we are both in our early fifties!).
Breakfast is taken on a roof terrace with wonderful views of the marina. On our previous visits breakfast was a plentiful help-yourself buffet but it has been replaced with a served buffet behind glass where you have to point out your choices to staff who serve it to you, and staff prefer you to let them bring you even juicesw, tea, etc. This is not good - it is inefficient (as staff often "forget"), causes delay and is generally nowhere near as pleasant as the old "help yourself" method.
Maybe this is a left over from Covid restrictions but I hope they revert back to laying out the breakfast as before and bringing back self service (as other hotels in the area have).
Otherwise, a perfect stay.
The paint is flaking off the metal balconies and cigaret burns are apparent on the interior furnishings along with bleach stains on the carpets.
Breakfast is severed on the roof terrace which is very picturesque as the views are superb.
The presentation of the cold breakfast buffet is behind glass and is served by the staff, as too is the hot breakfast options !
Bread is supplied by another member of staff along with coffee from the machine!
The staff are extremely efficient and helpful throughout the hotel and are a credit to the hotel!
The room heating was controlled by reception and as our room was chilly in the evenings, we had to request the heating to be switched on several times …..!!!
Bathroom fixtures and fittings were a bit worn with a Loose loo seat, that had been neglected !
Overall a nice hotel, but they appear to be allowing standards to slip !
A major blow when we last visited 3 years ago was the loss of the waterside restaurant, It is now leased out and has lost the charm we were used to.
The part refurb of about 5 years ago has only papered over the cracks and seems to be on hold.
What has not changed is the unbelievable feeling of calmness and beauty that envelops you from the very first day.
Breakfast is a highlight. It is served on the roof terrace looking out over the bay to the surrounding mountain ranges. The staff pull out all the stops. What a pity that the socialising opportunities are not there for dinner too.
This year the jetty bar was being manned by 2 young men with limited understanding of the English language. The soundtrack was largely Europop and Dance Music and at least 2 of our favourite tipples were not stocked, so that was a bit of a disappointment too.
The setting, the charm of many of the staff and the fabulous pool are in danger of being overtaken by apparent lack of investment.
Loyalty and memories only go so far.
The service was amazing from the staff in the dining room who waited on you hand and foot to the lovely staff on reception. The hotel appears to be in its own grounds in a quiet area but within easy walking distance of the promenade and the old town.
BUT - the breakfast situation is very POOR for a hotel of this standard - just a selection of cold meats and vegetables, although an omelette could be made. But no sausages or bacon, mushrooms, hash browns etc or even pastries!! - and all getting served from behind a plastic screen! The serving area is beautiful but I had to have breakfast in town every day - that is not acceptable and it needs to change.
Bars and restaurants nearby and 10 minutes walk along the marina to the old town
We don't understand the complaints about breakfast. There is a wide choice of various eggs, english breakfast (don't expect bacon) and lots of other things to order. Lots of fruit, cheese, cereal, yogurt, bread and pastries. Yes you ask the staff to serve you but they are always keen to help and give you large portions. Don't expect exactly the same food as in England but enjoy being in Turkey.
Snacks by the pool are fine. Would be nice if there was a hotel restaurant open for lunch and in the evening. Would definitely use it.
Will definitely be returning.
The people that complain, want 5 star facilities, but want to pay 2 star price.
Fabulous staff all over the hotel
