The resort offers a myriad of facilities: four swimming pools, two of which have a waterslide, a great spa, a fitness centre, tennis courts, a squash court, and age-specific kids’ clubs and a children’s playground. There also are five restaurants and bars. Located steps away from the beach or scattered around the gardens, the 250 rooms, family-friendly residences and villas make for comfortable retreats for couples, families and groups of friends travelling together. All spacious guestrooms (51-144 sqm) feature a balcony or terrace with views of the gardens or ocean vistas and free Wi-Fi. The pool villas provide additional privacy. The resort is a one-hour drive from Phuket International Airport and is a perfect base to explore the Similan and Surin island groups, discover the neighbouring national parks, and enjoy an adventuresome holiday.

As part of the holiday booked to Thailand we stayed at this hotel for 5 days following a stay previously in Koh Samui which we had enjoyed as our first experience of Thailand, we felt that this hotel location and facilities was superior to our expectations of a Thailand hotel. We had a a very relaxing time with the space around the pools or the access to the facilities in the hotel never an issue. The number of pools around the complex allow guests to move around and enjoy different aspects of the complex, the sea was also very close to he complex and felt completely safe for all ages of guests. We had meals at the hotel and in the town all were exceptional and had a lot of variety support our view to want to return back to Khao Lak and this hotel. We booked a trip through the hotel too and felt that this was good value and the needs of us were met by the tour guide and the queries raised by us as part of us booking the trip

My friend and I enjoyed the relaxed and quiet atmosphere. There was very little night life in the resort itself but plenty a short walk up the hill to the road.

It was a perfect way to relax after a busy year but after a week, we were ready to move on.

It is a perfect place for families with small children who can enjoy the slippery dips, pools, safe beach etc. There is a kid's club as well.

Breakfast and dinner were included in our package and offered adequate buffet style choices, but again, after a week, we'd had enough. There is fabulous and cheap Thai food available in town and worth the short walk.

The staff were friendly but I noticed that there were a lot of casuals who deserve more job security. Our room was always clean and well serviced.

This resort would be a poor choice for young people looking for night life and activities. It's perfect for older travellers and families.

We stayed in a family apartment that had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a small kitchen / dining area and a living area. It was very comfortable but the kitchen is inadequate with only a microwave for cooking and no washing up supplies: no detergent, sponge or tea towels. Hotel staff couldn't help us when we asked for them.

I would stay there again.

The hotel is very good our room was clean and very large. The staff were friendly and very helpful. A wonderful place to relax either by the pool or on the beach. The food was a little limited and I felt that the menu was to basic. The only caution I would give is that the rooms are on 3 floors and the hotel does not have a lift. The tours offered by the hotel were reasonably priced and we found great value for money. We can recommend the James Bond Island tour and can't recommend the elephant sanctuary enough. My only gripe about this stay was we had asked for a sea view which we did not get as on the 3rd floor from our balcony through the buildings and the trees we could see the sea.

Dear Colin S, We appreciate your feedback very much because it is positive but also gives ideas for the development. First of all, we are of course glad that you enjoyed your time here. A new, more comprehensive menu will be released shortly. Sea views are generally something we do not advertise for as we cannot ensure availability. However, when planning garden design we will evaluate whether there is a way to create more view. Thank you for staying with us and hope to see you again. Sincerely yours The management of Seaview Resort Khao Lak

First impressions of the hotel were very good, we were given cold towels and a cold drink at reception while we were completing the paperwork. We were then taken to room 2015, as soon as we opened the door, the smell of damp was overpowering. We were advised to wait in that room while they sorted another one out for us. After 20 minutes they moved us to room 2013, this again was very smelly and damp. After a further 20 minute wait we then moved to room 2015 which was actually worse than the previous 2. The reception then advised that we could upgrade to a garden room for 1000 baht (£26.00) per night. I asked to speak to the manager, when he arrived, he was rude and aggressive, stating we would have to stay in one of the smelly rooms or upgrade. By this time we were both exhausted with all the traipsing around so we agreed to upgrade. This was a really nice room quite close to the beach. The next day my wife looked on the hotel website and noticed that they were offering upgrades for 500 baht a night not the 1000 baht a night they were charging us. We again went to see the manager and reluctantly dropped our upgrade to 500 baht per night. If you look at previous reviews, you will see that there are a number of reviews similar to this. After being there a week we could see that the hotel was looking tired and dated and was in definite need some TLC. Breakfast was quite good but the stars of the show were the staff. Nothing was to much for them and they did everything with a smile on their faces.

Dear 474bent, We regret that we were unable to fully meet your expectations. We are aware that people react differently to the here normal, tropical, humid climate and its side effects. Since room changes within the booked room type didn't seem to bring any relief, we are very pleased that we were able to help you enjoy your vacation better with the upgrade offered. Thank you for your visit and we look forward to welcoming you again if you like. Sincerely yours The management of Seaview Resort Khao Lak

After staying down in Phuket for a few days and then travelling up to Khao Lak we were very pleasantly surprised by how much nicer everything was. Seaview resort was exactly as the pics show; beautiful and opulent. Our suite was just magnificent. We spent many hours relaxing on the beautiful beach, jumping the waves, and swimming in the many pools at the resort. The resort was just behind the shopping strip. The buffet breakfast was huge and had everything you could possibly want. The whole family loved it here. If we had known how nice it was here, we wouldn't have bothered with busy, crowded Phuket at all, just came to Khao Lak instead.

We didn’t end up staying at this resort for our own reasons but I wanted to mention that they were excellent at managing our concerns very professionally and really acted in the best interest of their guests. So for this I thank the hotel management.
I did take a look around the resort - the location is perfect on a beautiful part of the beach and easy walking access to the strip of town shops.
Thank you again to management for your help.

As a family of 4 with 2 teenagers we booked a family "deluxe room" with 2 bedroom. When we arrived we were greeted by reception staff with half a smile not what we had been used to in the other hotels in Thailand. We were took to our room, or should I say dump. Soon as the door opened I could smell very bad damp ,it was rotton, I told the luggage guy we couldn't stay in it he said see reception which I did . Long story short we got moved into 2 connection rooms which were fine ,clean and didn't smell too bad, but ...we had to pay a extra £100! It's a shame this happen because after that we did enjoy our stay , location is great , breakfast is good , lovely large pools but it could do with a bit of extra cleaning here n there.

We stayed at the Seaview for 5 nights for part of our honeymoon. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it is perfect location. The hotel was very clean and our room was decorated beautifully with flowers which was a lovely touch. There are several pros that weigh out the cons, but i do think that there needs to be some improvement from staff. The hotel has the potential to be excellent, so i hope that the comments are taken on board. The food quality in general was great, however I found the staff very slow and on two occasions i felt invisible. One occasion, I wanted was an ice cream (by the pool bar) and a family pushed in without acknowledging me (i found this to happen a lot here too)! The staff member unlocked the freezer for them to pick out their ice creams, then locked it and went over to the bar. I was just left standing there! I thought he would be back soon - nope, i had to go back to the bar to remind him. Surely it would have made sense for him to have served both of us, but i had clearly been forgotten about. Second occasion was when we wanted a sandwich. We waited 20 mins for a menu even though there seemed to be plenty of staff walking about but not doing much. It took 40 mins for them to make the sandwich which wasn't what I ordered but i chose to eat it anyway as i didn't want to wait another 40 mins. We were also meant to have a fruit basket and wine in our room. It really isn't a problem, but it just adds to us feeling more invisible.

We chose this hotel for the benefit of our grandsons, 5 & 3, where we had a luxury villa and our son and his family booked an additional room.
We would meet at breakfast and then spend the morning at our villa with its private pool. Yes I know strictly speaking the pool is for the use of the villas occupants but who would deny a 4 and 2 year old. The pool is of a reasonable size for an individual villa.
Afternoons were spent in one of the large pool. One pool had a circular slide thoroughly enjoyed by the boys. Must admit whilst they went off with their parents we could enjoy the pool bar The other option was the beach, sand and safe except for the very youngest.
In addition there was a 'kids club' with playroom and outdoor play park. For others there is a gym and pool/snooker room. Besides the hotels beach bar there are a number of other establishments in close proximity to the hotel catering for various taste.
Finally, our villa was at the back of the grounds making it ideal to walk to Khao Lak main road. In fact the villa was closer to main road than it was to reception from where you can get a golf buggy to the main road!! If there is one criticism its the mosquitoes which love a night time meal.
Overall would recommend and go again.

Second stay here after 2 years. Previous visit whilst under the Centara brand which we loved at the time.
Positives.
Pools are cleaner.
Still the best location in Khao Lak.
Seems like new management trying to utilize more of resort.
Bars and restaraunts all seem to be operating.
Play areas seem better equiped then before.

Negatives
Breakfast has been moved away from beach.
The breakfast is no way near as good as before.
The food is a real let down, and the prices astronomical.
Fresh coconut when available 120 Baht. At the X10 which is a 5 star. They were allways available and 70 baht.
Its a lot quiter then before. Carpe Diem made this resort for families and them not being here made this a different stay.
Bathrooms are in desperate need of renovation

We ordered some pizzas on the beach last day and they were absolutely terrible.
They had been not too bad until then, but no apology or offer of something else just a shrug of the shoulders.

A lot of new staff, learning the ropes. I thought they would have kept same staff.

Bottom line is its still a great place to visit. But the rates are the same as for the X10 and the Sands. We stayed at the X10 and its just a better resort in every way.
Management need to either totally refit the entire resort to compete with the newer places or offer this at a much cheaper rate as its not even a close comparison.

We felt like we were getting ripped off with the food on offer. Especially when we compared with X10.

They aren't the newest looking apartments but they are clean and large with plenty of space for our family of 6 (2 adult, 4 young children) and even their cousins (who were staying in much smaller rooms in the main resort area) would come for sleep overs! Feel free to read my review of this resort for more info, but we all loved it!
