I have never stayed in a hostel as nice as this. The whole place has been designed by the owner who is an interior designer (as well as a great breakfast chef). It is clean, comfortable, relaxing and has all the amenities you would want whilst traveling, including free washing machines, big lockers and a lovely communal area. Don't be put off by the communal showers - it's the same if you experience the traditional Korean Saunas. (Which you should defiantly do if you get the chance)

At risk of sounding hyperbolic, staying at COOOOL was easily the best hostel experience I've ever had. Right from arrival, Chris (the host) was welcoming, enthusiastic and friendly. As you can see from the photos the interior design is also gorgeous. The atmosphere at COOOOL is very homely and relaxing and I would look forward to being able to chill out in the kitchen and living room in the evenings. One night Chris even brought myself and the other guests free Korean chicken and beer while we all chatted in the living room! The free breakfast here is also incredibly yummy and is served up with the backdrop of classical music and delicious tea/ coffee offerings. Croissant bread topped with jam, tomatoes, mustard, eggs and herbs (in that order!!) set off every day in great fashion. If anyone is interested in staying in Busan I'd definitely recommend treating yourself to a stay here if you're tired of the typical hostel fare and fancy something special. (P.s. Very important point - the most adorable dog Chong Chong (Chris, please forgive me if I've butchered the spelling!) roams the hostel and is very happy to be spoilt by all the guests)

Sometimes I still dream about the breakfasts that I had at the guesthouse. There was a specific way you had to craft the open face sandwich. Artisanal bread, a slice of cheese, topped with an assortment of jams, followed by a freshly fried egg, and a small dollop of grain mustard. Bliss. The living space is designed by the owner, a former interior designer. It's absolutely beautiful. And it is reflected in the price of your stay - it isn't cheap. There is bottled water around the guesthouse that you can drink from. The living space stretches around the dormitory sleeping areas and provides space to get together with people and some more private areas to read and relax in. The location is a 3 minute walk to Haeundae Beach and surrounded by places to eat. Transportation to the rest of Busan is easy with the subway or buses nearby.
