As a large family group was having difficulty with online booking and communicated with the hotel by email ( which was hard to find and called by phone to get the email) The queries and requests were dealt with promptly. The hotel is right on the beach, step out of the door and you will be on the sand. I observed the staff forever cleaning, the lobby area, entrances , common area so everything was spotless.
From check in to check out the personnel were all wonderful professional and courteous. We tended to have breakfasts and meals outside the hotel, hundreds of restaurants cafes within minutes of the hotel. If you decide to use hotel catering outlets be prepared to pay a lot!
Whilst the hotel is on the Beach , the beach is not part of the hotel as in normal resort places. Once you step on the sand , there is no real connection, you will need to rent chairs, umbrellas etc from private vendors although the hotel provides towels.
Overall a very nice stay in the hotel, I agree with other reviewers that the rooms need upgrading but given that most of the time is likely to be spent outside, was not an issue.
A great hotel in what we found to be a great city.

We stayed as a family of three for a couple of nights at the Westin Chosun Busan during October 2019 and it was a fantastic stay. We were impressed from check in to check out.

Special mention to Paul Do at front desk for accommodating all of my requests, room change needs, and just about anything. Paul was very friendly and welcomed us during the check-in process, offering advice on different room views and helping us to change rooms after our first night. Absolutely Fabulous service!

As a Marriott Platinum member, we stayed the first night in an Executive Beach room, which had fantastic front on views of the Haeundae Beach. Although the room was nice, we opted to switch to a more spacious Corner Park Suite the second night. The three of us enjoyed both rooms.

The Club Lounge was average sized but also had wonderful views of the Beach. I would like to thank Minseon at the Lounge for her excellent service and those small packs of biscuits were very tasty!

The Westin is built virtually on the sands of the popular Haeundae Beach. You cannot get a better positioned hotel if you want to jog along the beach in the morning or just sit around the beach at sunset. Around the back is Dongbaek Park, which we saw a perfect sunset towards the west Gwangandaegyo Bridge. The Bay 101 is just around the corner (2min walk) from the hotel and all the nice restaurants are located around the beach.

I would also like to thank Vanessa at Concierge for providing guidance to local attractions and helping us to purchase the KTX tickets from Busan to Seoul. It was our first time to Korea and on a KTX!

The Westin Chosun is truly a perfectly located hotel in Busan with a team of great and friendly people.

Definitely recommended!

I am a Lifetime Titanium member stayed at Marriott and Starwood hotels well over 1,000 nights. I had a wonderful time with my family at Westin Josun Busan for 4 nights this week for working and vacation. The location of this hotel is the best in Busan – it is on the Dongbaekseom island of Haeundae where the hotel guests can enjoy the great view of Haeundae beach and also walking in the island and the beach at any time. The hotel building is somewhat old but the inside is very clean and well maintained – it’s a five star hotel. At the time of arrival, we were welcomed by the front office staff. Sean Kang helped us check in and kindly explained about the hotel facilities and things-to-do during our stay. Executive Lounge (Westin Club) was open for afternoon tea and snack from 11 am to 5 pm and provided happy hour foods from 6 to 8 pm, 7 days a week. We enjoyed visiting the lounge and the delicious foods (which are good for dinner and changed every day) with a glass of champagne. Chloe Kim made us feel like home at the Club Lounge. During our stay, we made more room reservations throughout this year and will definitely come back during this winter.

The hotel location is the main plus. First of all it's on the beach but it's also very close to the subway station. There is a park where you can take a walk or run and it has great views. Dinner was a little bit overpriced but you have 3 restaurants to choose and hamburger at the bar is also an option. The room was specious and clean. Overall I liked my stay there.

The service at this classic beach resort was impeccable. Every interaction with each staff member, lovely! The Executive Lounge with its expansive view of Haeundae Beach was welcoming, and the offerings, tasty, with an especially nice variety of breakfast foods. The hotel’s beach front location is stunning, and I loved the adjacent walking trails along the waterfront and through the forest, which were filled with surprising points of interest at every turn. Also, the pool was refreshing, and opened at 6am. There was a lane reserved for lap swimming, and comfy loungers for relaxing. I loved the city view from my room, but will think about springing for a beach view on my next visit to this wonderful, relaxing resort,

Most beautiful ocean view room that we have ever stayed
Conveniently located from the subway station and Haeundae beach and the nearby coast walkway.

Clean Haeundae beach along with the nearby new capsule training ride make this place an unique location worthy of your visit.

Breakfast is abundant with a good selection. The food at the executive lounge is of good quality and excellent view of the beach and the skyline.

It wasn't the cheapest hotel I've ever stayed at as we paid just under 300 pounds a night for a room with a view of the beach. It was lovely but didn't justify the cost with the other features of the hotel in mind. It is dated - I don't think anyone has updated a thing in 20 years. The room was clean, the staff very helpful and friendly. On arrival we were slightly taken aback by being told we could use the pool 4 times during our stay. At this cost, that wasn't the best start. The food was pretty average and breakfast wasn't included. Again, at this price point, you would expect breakfast. What we did eat was ok. A bit like slightly above average pub food. I asked for a medium rate burger twice and it came back well done. We then sought out other places to eat. In this part of town this is easy and to be recommended. So in summary, a dated hotel which is expensive if you want to experience it's best feature (the view) and in bad need of a make-over and someone with decent international hotel experience to manage it.

Hotel itself is elegant building with perfect location; short walk to the beach and to the restaurants, but same time a bit away from hassle. Rooms, at least on upper floors, are nicely renovated and beach side rooms have stunning views. Breakfast is overpriced compared to the quality and variety. Club lounge is priced very tempting, but it is overcrowded and quality of the food both on breakfast and happy hour is not very good. Drink selection is limited during the happy hour.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. We paid $360 a night to stay here. The rooms are sub-par... nothing special at all about the rooms. I’ve stayed in way nicer for less. You would think at such a high nightly rate they would include complimentary breakfast...nope. Breakfast is approx. $50 per adult $25 per kid. No perks come with the expensive cost for staying there which is the main reason I don’t recommend it to anyone. The hotel is not 5 star or either 4 star. I would rate it a 3 star hotel. If you are planning to choose this hotel for your stay here in Busan I would highly recommend looking around at other hotels that are cheaper because like I said, nothing special at all for the price you are going to pay to stay here.

My kids were really excited to go swimming at the hotel indoor pool because it was raining and couldn’t go to the beach. Once we got there they told us that in order to swim swimmers have to wear a “swimming cap??” Which is fine, their pool their rules, but at least they should have this item available for purchase within the hotel. Nothing made me more sad than to tell my two kids they can’t swim because of the swim cap rule and having to walk them back to our room.

1) There was no recognition for Marriott Gold when I checked in at the lobby where other Marriott usually greets you and welcomes you.I arrived there around 12:10PM and I was told I need to comeback at 3 for check in.
2) She did not even tell me how to get the the elevator also didnt tell me check out time.
3) Panorama Lounge, you need to tell them everything twice maybe because they were busy so continuously forgets and I did not hear apology. I asked staff if I could directly get to the Okim's from lobby or get out of the building and access thru the beach, and this guy did not know so he said let me ask someone. So he went into the office and 1-2 min later he got out but he was walking towards to me but passed by me like he never saw me before! I have to go grab him and ask him again for simple question. This clearly shows he was lack of his own property knowledge and unprofessional.
4) Of course my room was facing the Parkview where my view was actually white old roof of attached building. I do not complain about it even though as a Gold you get upgrade when its only available. So I am assuming there were nothing available. I didnt even ask for it.
5) However, room condition was not as clean as it could have been. There were different color of hairs (blonde and Brown) in the bathroom and on the bedding. Also, there were some cricking noise continuously from the wall. It bothered me alot but I decided not to even call the lobby. Because I was already disappointed so badly and onlything in my mind was get the heck our of there. My room was #640
6) I've visited there buffet few times and those were fine but it was first time staying there and absolutely I won't visit again. Fairfield Busan which is near Westin Chosun is 10 times better in every aspects, staff kindness, cleanness, overall atmosphere.
7) This was among the worst Marriott Hotel I've ever experienced.
