Our positive experience started with pickup from the airport; the vehicle was very clean, and the driver was a credit to the hotel. He was professional. The lobby staff was alert and attentive, and there was water with fruit in it (fresh to taste) which was a nice touch. The room was clean (thank goodness) and comfortable. Breakfast was better than at the other chain hotel I've stayed at recently. The decaff was burned, but small potatoes. Overall, management seems on the ball here and I would definitely return for an airport stay.

Just wanted to share my 5 star experiences with this hotel over the past month. I have stayed 11 nights since January and each time the hotel and staff have performed beyond reasonable expectations. Seeranie at the front desk is exceptionally polite, respectful, considerate, helpful and very professional. The breakfast team is on their mark and they still fed me after I overslept one morning. Rooms are modern in design and functional in all aspects. Housekeeping is silent and practically invisible. You will only see the evidence of their existence. This hotel could easily serve as a model of outstanding accommodations for other hotels. Great job, 5 stars here.

We stayed in a suite, and we can't complain about the suite at all, it was quite nice.
The breakfast was mediocre.
There were some bizarrely stupid omissions that could have only saved them pennies while greatly annoying the customer. For example:
1) There was no bar soap in the room. To use soap you had to go into the shower/toilet area and use the gel from the shower, then go out to the sink and lather up. This they claimed was due to a shortage from their soap supplier. This may be true, but don't they know they can order small soaps from Amazon and get them in a day? Sure, they don't have the corporate logo on them, but would you rather annoy the customer because of that?
2) No lids for the coffee cups. Twice in taking that back to the room it spilled, once due to the elevator closing and hitting my arm, and the other time due to the room door doing the same. For what is being saved, this is just stupid.
3) No pepper supplied at the breakfast, and a single salt shaker for all to use. Again, really stupid for the savings.
For these I would rather pay an extra buck a day than deal with these shortcomings.

The room layout is mostly familiar to anyone who's stayed in another Holiday Inn Express Hotel. Except the sink out in the hallway - anyone who uses the sink at night is bound to wake up everyone else in the room. Mini fridge, microwave, coffeemaker. Bring your own breakfast food because the post-covid Holiday Inn breakfasts are pointless. A couple of items are laid out and quickly disappear, while you wait in line for someone to heat up your bagel (raisin only). You can pour your own beverages from a shared machine, but not grab your own bread? We've had a better breakfast at another hotel during the height of COVID last year. On a busy road, across from a mall, so turning around might get a bit tricky. Many restaurants all around. Pleasant front desk staff.

The only reason this has 4 instead of 5 stars, is because I was hoping for a large pool and hot tub, and it only has a small pool.
Otherwise, this is a great place, and wonderful value. The rooms are modern and spotlessly clean, it offers a (limited due to covid) wrapped breakfast, the rooms have large TV's and free wifi.
The location is nestled between an IHop on one side, and an INCREDIBLE Indian restaurant on the other. Best Indian food we've ever had! Next to THAT is a well known French bakery bistro, but we didn't go in there.
It's also directly across the street from a large mall, (pedestrian cross-walk up the block) if you're inclined to shop.
I can't think of anything that makes this place amazing, but it was exactly what we wanted - a safe, clean, enjoyable place to stay.

I almost exclusively stay at HIE but this was one of the most poorly managed I've encountered. Housekeeping is a joke and please don't blame the pandemic as I asked for my room to be cleaned every day but only once in four days was it serviced. On day one there was no Kleenex; on day two there were no fresh towels delivered despite calling twice; on day three the nearest elevator went out of order and the hot water for a shower was lukewarm at best; and thankfully on day four I left! There was molding falling off the walls and the heated swimming pool was heated by only the ambient air. Strongly recommend staying somewhere else. If that wasn't enough, within 12 hours of posting this review I returned to the room to find both key cards that were kept in separate locations to be de-activated. And yet another trip to the front desk and another round of apologies and excuses.

Room was clean and well equipped but very small and awkwardly designed with the sink in the entry hall across from the small room containing the toilet and tub/shower. Even more awkward and annoying is the layout of the building. Entrance and front desk are in the middle but elevators are at the extreme ends of the building. Our room was near the middle of 3rd floor, so we had to enter, drag luggage to extreme end, elevator up, then back to center of hallway. Complementary breakfast was Ho-hum.

The good: responsive staff and breakfast buffet are better than average. The evening staff person welcomed us warmly after a long and stressful drive. They also advised us (when we called to make reservations) that they could accommodate our long trailer. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean.
The bad (for us): there is mandatory Fox News on the television (I quietly asked if it could be changed and they said that corporate sets a policy and they are not allowed to change the channel.) I find this "news program" deeply offensive and it's odd that the Holiday Inn Express corporation has aligned itself so strongly with a news program.
Contrast this with our next travel experience (at a competitor's hotel). They had on Good Morning America, and the volume was at a reasonable level. It was such a pleasant way to eat breakfast and I complimented the manager on the entire breakfast experience, including being able to sit down and enjoy breakfast without being bombarded by something that my family and I (and 50% of the traveling public) are offended by.

My husband and I stayed here one night while visiting his family in the area.
The hotel was easy to find and not far from after exiting Rt 90. It is across from shopping and restaurants at the Colonie Center on Wolf Road.
Our room and the hotel in general were clean, but quite sparse... nothing special or memorable. The sink was outside of the bathroom, which was small. Our room included a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker with Green Mt. coffee pods, all of which were appreciated. I wish there had been more counter area around the sink and microwave. Our queen room had a occasional chair and very small table as well as a desk and accompanying chair. I could have used an extra blanket. There was a small room safe which was a nice extra.
The breakfast buffet was better than expected with a variety of food choices (cereal, eggs, bacon, sausage patties, fresh fruit, yogurt, milk, juices and coffee. The attendant was very efficient and kept the breakfast room well stocked and clean.
We didn't take advantage of the pool and small fitness room, as well as the business center. I think if the lobby was enhanced, the hotel would be more appealing.
This Holiday Inn Express was good for a short stay.

We family of 4 stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel room is clean and bed is comfortable. They have microwave and mini fridge in everyroom which is very convienent. Also their breakfast is very good ranging from hot to cold, everything you could think of breakfast. The best thing is that you could request anything you forgot like toothpaste, brushes, etc. I requested shower head and got it which saved me time to buy outside. I will definately book this hotel again if I come to this area in the future.
