The place is a bit run down. The bed and towels were clean but the room was a little dusty and had past stains that were noticeable. The room was acceptable for a single suite. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall ok place to stay.

I loved the Crest Hill. It's much cleaner and offers more amenities than the Towne Place Suites that I'm in now. I'm moving back! At the Crest Hill, the housekeepers and front desk were always very accomodating. The maids even washed my dishes in the sink! The best part was the business center, free laundry, and good exercise room with free weights. Better beds here then the Towne Place!

Spent one night in this hotel this past weekend. The lobby and person behind the desk were very nice. The room - a one bedroom suite with a king size bed - had a lot of potential, but sadly missed the mark.

The first thing we noticed was a dish of peppermints on the table - nice touch! However, when my husband went to take one, he noticed that it looked odd...sort of "melted" in it's wrapper. He then noticed that there was some type of liquid in the bottom of the bowl, as if someone had spilled something in there and let it sit. I immediately took it to the front desk - I didn't want to clean it out and didn't even want it in the room! She was very nice, apologized and took it from me, but that was it.

We also noticed that the rug had not been vacuumed in the main sitting area - there were crumbs, sand, and debris all around the coffee table and chair - in fact, the whole rug was very worn. The reading chair also had debris all along the back part of the seat - I asked the cleaning crew, who were right outside our door, to come in and vacuum, and they did. We also found a container sitting in the microwave, but it was empty and looked clean. Also, the remote for the TV in the sitting area had the power button broken off - we just turned it on manually.

On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable with clean sheets. The bathroom was also clean. The TVs worked well and had plenty of channels. Breakfast was very simple - sausage, waffles, cereal, yogurt, English muffins, juice, coffee tea. Heat/fan was fine.

This hotel has a lot of potential - it's in a great location, and the overall atmosphere is very good - it just needs some attention to detail, especially with the cleanliness of the rooms!

Response from Cresthill, General Manager at CrestHill Suites Albany
Responded 18 Apr 2014
Thank you for taking the time to post a review of our hotel. We apologize for the problems that occurred during your stay. Although we thought it a nice tough, we have taken the mints out of our rooms for that exact reason. The issues you noted with housekeeping are not our standard and we have reviewed with our housekeeping staff as an opportunity for more training. We are glad you found our beds comfortable and hope you will consider giving us another chance should your travels bring you back.

I'll start with the positive: The desk staff were nice and were extremely responsive to our complaints/requests. Also, the rooms (we had to switch rooms after one night) were large, the beds were okay, the wifi worked and the showers had hot water. Pretty much everything else was problematic. We planned to have dinner in our room and when we checked in, discovered there were not enough dishes or silverware (1 knife, 3 forks, 2 glasses, etc.), three of the four burners on the stove did not work, and the table in the online pictures was nowhere to be found. We also had coffee pods but no coffeemaker. Most of the problems were resolved after a call or two. But then, we loaded the dishwasher and the entire kitchen flooded. We didn't even think we had pushed the "on" button but resolved not to use the dishwasher.
The next morning we washed a few other dishes by hand and the kitchen flooded again. Turns out the sink drained into the dishwasher so it too was unusable. Maintenance staff couldn't find a mop. Many towels later, we agreed to switch rooms. We hoped that would also address the problem that the entire carpet (not just the part near the flooded kitchen) was damp and kind of squishy.
No such luck, the carpet in the second room was also damp and squishy. But, the kitchen sink worked so we called it a win. There was, however, no silverware at all in the drawer and we had to bring some of the plates and glasses that had been brought up to us from the other room, when we moved our stuff. This hotel has the potential to be a great option for people visiting the SUNY area; the room size and kitchen could make it a standout. Instead, it's just a mess and a very disappointing experience.

Here is another hotel that doesn't even take out the trash or pick-up the dirty towels on a daily basis. Checked in they wanted a large deposit for a prepaid booking, had to sign a full page document about " Da rules" of which on item stated they have the right to inspect the room every 24 hours, apparently they don't do any cleaning when they inspect! Had a coffee maker in the room missing parts, informed the desk of this. But it was not replaced because they ( get this) won't go into a room when you're not there! What is wrong with these people? At check in no one informed me about the" no servicing" of the rooms! Nor did the hotel description say anything about it. Full price for no service and broken amenities. Just another rip off!! Beware!!!

The suite and the kitchen were dirty; hair in the tub, dirt on the cupboards and bathroom floor. AC was on, temp was 61 degrees on arrival in November. Kitchen supplies were laughable. Absolutely NO silverware, only a can opener. 1 bowl, 1 glass. No regular coffee, only decaf. Requested another blanket which took forever to receive. Required a $150 deposit on arrival, have never had such large deposit required. Terrible stay, luckily it was a quick stop on our way to another destination. We get that help is hard to come by these days, but this was more than that, long term lack of cleaning and not even minimal stocking of kitchen supplies or extra blanket in the room. Oh and the freezer compartment of the refrigerator wasn't working either.

It starts out bad with the weeds in the driveway as you enter and the garbage overflowing in the cans. The room smelled smoky and musty. It is very dirty, outdated, and falling apart. There was no coffee pot and the front desk girl said someone probably stole it. No coffee, no soap at the sink. No paper towels. There was a huge stain on the counter top. No Kleenex. Stains all over the carpet. Only one chair at the kitchen counter. The towels are those small thin towels you see at cheap hotels. We returned from our day at a baseball game and no one had cleaned our room. I went down and asked for four fresh towels. She grilled me on how many guests in my room. Two. Then I could only get two towels. I have NEVER been refused extra towels from a hotel. She said “they” were very picky about that. I left with my two flimsy towels in shock. This is a one star hotel. I would NEVER stay here again.

Almost every appliance in the suite had issues. The air conditioning system was broken and after three calls to the front desk they still did not send anyone to fix it. The mirrors were horribly wiped down, with lots of smudges and marks. Parts of the carpet were coming up and there were plastic sets of silverware in the drawers and the only fork that was in there was dirty. Some of the front desk staff was relatively friendly however one women refused to help with any of the issues and, after waiting for 2 hours for help on the air conditioning, she was clearly agitated by my call and insisted I just had to wait even longer.

This is NOT a place to stay. It's too bad, the suites must have been very nice in there day. Refrigerator was dirty, dented, The inside of the stove you need a jack hammer to clean up the mess. The room was 64 degrees when we arrived and it took hours to get the room warm. Had to turn on the oven. Everything you touch is slimy. Gross!

Hello Mr. Patel, Unfortunately, our stay was not a pleasant one. We choose your property by the pictures on the website, however, upon our arrival we were very disappointed. I have attached or will forward the pictures and videos that my husband took. The grounds were littered with trash and debris. We couldn’t believe it as this is the first thing you see when you arrive to check in. The suite had a strong odor that we couldn’t not get rid of. My husband and I went to the dollar store to get cleaning products! Can you imagine having to do that on your vacation?! The worse part was your manager on duty, Tom Gibson. He was rude and very confrontational! I was appalled at his unprofessional service. He should have said ok when we brought these things to his attention but instead he was very rude and very unprofessional. My husband is a Facilities Manager at a rehabilitation center and his job is to take care of the building and guests so when Tom started being rude my husband was very upset that Tom didn’t care about the property he was managing. Tom told us we didn’t have to stay and could leave, basically we could get out! Unfortunately, the other hotels were booked for the weekend or we would have most certainly left! I paid almost $300 to stay in a filthy room! The main lobby is very nice with the BBQ area and seating area. For your sake I hope you find a better property manager who will actually take care of the property. Horrible experience’
