Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Over priced, small room. Asked/ reserved a “handicapped” but it was without any real wheelchair access or grab bars. Walk in shower but no grab bars or shower chair available at this hotel.
FINALLY; we paid $238 and no breakfast was available! Front desk clerk said the kitchen staff called in sick! They refused to give us a $$$ card to eat nearby at Panera Bread (or anywhere else).
The room was too small to navigate a wheelchair. When I confronted them I was told it was a “hearing impaired” handicap room.., WTF is that? I was a disability advocate for 35 years and never heard of a room designed for the deaf/hearing impaired.
I can’t recommend the place. It’s a $79 night hotel.
BTW: I met my sister in law and niece in the bar, they had paid for their drinks, I ordered 2 Bloody Mary’s and later paid as we were leaving. The next day I realized the bar tender had charged me for their drinks so he double charged.. what a scam.

I was led to believe from the description and the Marriott site this propert was close to downtown. Not only is it far, but there is literally nothing around the property aside from a gas station or two, Popeyes chicken and a sonic. Literally nothing in any direction for miles. The bar and restaurant which also touts its local craft beer line up (another reason I decided to Choose this location based on its description) literally has 2 beers out of 17 draft and bottle choices that are local to albany, let alone NY state which is just odd. But so be it. The restaurant has a very limited menu but generally has something most can find to eat off of. Overall this location really is a major letdown along with some of its descriptions in its property amenities. I will say it’s very clean and the staff are pleasant.

We stopped at the Four Points for a night on our way up north. It is easy access off the highway and nice and new. One of the elevators wasn't working which we thought interesting for a brand new hotel. Staff is new as well, but super friendly as they work through the kinks of their new role.

Breakfast is not being served, however you can get a grab and go bag. Watch out as one of the breakfast sandwiches requires microwaving.

My company pre-paid my room the way they always do, bit the employee had no idea on how to process a virtual card. So they end up charging my personal card. When I noticed the error, the person who answered the phone says to me that the fix will take up to 2 weeks. That's not how it works. The credit card technically wouldn't be processed until that night so it could be fixed immediately. The manager refuses to get on the phone. Most of the employees are poor trained and couldn't care less how the property looked. The young lady who checked me in should be fired, as well as, the General Manager and the young lady who answered the phone. They have no business working in hospitality.

Unless u want to be double charged, DO NOT STAY HERE.

My family and I came to Albany for a family gathering and had a wonderful experience at the Four Points Albany. The hotel is so clean. Nothing is out of place. The gym is excellent. The perfect way to start the day. The lounge is like a little pub, perfect spot to watch a game and have a cold beer. We found the front desk, housekeeping and lounge staff to be very accommodating and courteous. Super nice people who made us feel welcome. One bonus: in addition to the rooms have everything one needs, each room has an ironing board and iron which was handy for ironing the wrinkles out of our clothes. The hotel location is minutes from downtown Albany and very central to our needs. We look forward to staying at the Four Points Albany next time we visit the beautiful capitol of New York State!

This is a newer property and the rooms and furnishings look nice. However, I judge a hotel primarily by how I slept and have a hard time giving a positive review when I don't sleep. I mean, a hotel kind of has one job and it's reasonable to expect to sleep.

The construction of the building makes even the most basic things like walking around on the floor sound very loud. I noticed it when walking in my room, I could hear every one of my own footsteps and felt bad for whoever was below me. When the room above us arrived, I heard every step they took and every time they opened and closed the door. They weren't doing anything wrong, it wasn't a "call the front desk and complain" situation, they were just walking around until midnight.

On to breakfast. I chose this hotel over other options on my road trip specifically because Four Points offered free breakfast to Marriott Elite members. When I checked in they informed me that they don't offer this. The next morning I asked the new front desk staff and they confirmed that indeed they don't offer free breakfast. If I want to pay for breakfast in the restaurant that's available, but no they don't honour the Bonvoy rules. Instead we found and paid for breakfast somewhere else.

I won't be staying here again, and don't recommend it to others.

We were welcomed by a very professional, smiling and very courteous employe at check in . At check out we met the General Manager and he also was very professional and very appreciative of our business .
The hotel is new, very clean and very Covid proactive and they have implemented very strict rules and regulations.
Thank you for enforcing the rules we truly appreciate your concerns.
The bar and restaurant was close but they have a small pantry where you can purchase drinks and snacks .

I had high hopes for this hotel being fairly new. Read some reviews and started to doubt. I stayed there for 3 weeks for work. The hotel has a modern feel, and a pleasant atmosphere. The front desk staff were extremely pleasant and were able to handle all requests made. The first week I was on the 4th floor. Room had a walk in shower , nice big screen tv and comfy chair. The room was clean and the bed had feather pillows with a pillow top mattress. Very comfy! There is an ice machine on all floors right next to the elevators. Enough outlets and a few USB outlets as well. The last two weeks were spent on the 2nd floor. Only difference in the room was a tub/shower. The washer/dryer is also on second floor which came in handy. Room Cleaning service was every other day if needed. I tried to use the Bonvoy App for towel request, but I ended up having to go to front desk. No big deal. I did not use fitness center or pool, but they looked nice. The bar was well kept and had a great feel. I would absolutely stay there again. The only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 was that the shower pressure could be improved upon and the water, while it did get hot, could be hotter.

We had a three night stay and never once was the room cleaned, towels replaced, toiletries and coffee replenished. The free breakfast they claim to offer was almost nonexistent. You had to ask someone at the bar for it. At check out, I addressed this issue with a manager and was told we should have requested this in advance and gave me a very insincere and dismissive apology. For the price you pay, you expect this to be done as part of your rate like pretty much every other hotel.
