We stayed at Umaya villa Ubud at the villa with swimming pool on the site and we found it pretty much lovely. Really, it was a cozy villa with a lot of greenery, probably a bit old but perfectly maintained. The price per night was more than fair and delicious breakfast on villa's terrace became one of the most remarkable memories from our Bali trip. The location of the villa is ideal: many various dining options are at a stone’s throw and monkey forest sanctuary is just round the corner. There is a small parking space, but it wasn’t a problem at all, as the owners helped us to park the car quickly and safely. I must admit, the owners were so kind and helpful in general. Thank them very much for their hospitality. We would give only one tiny critical remark concerning hot water: the point is that when we had just settled in, the water heater was turned off, and when we found out that and turned it on, we had to wait more than one hour to take a hot shower. So, it would be great if the owners turned the heater on in advance before guests arrive. The rest, our staying at Umaya villa Ubud was impeccable.

Nice property in a great location behind the monkey sanctuary. The path into the centre isn’t long and is very scenic. The villas are tucked away with quick access to shops/restaurant whilst maintaining a feel of privacy.
The bed was very comfortable and the linen/towels of good quality. Unfortunately during our stay it rained a few times heavily and with the roofing of the bathroom there was leaking making the floor quite slippy.
The breakfast at umuya was great, there was a variety of options and plenty per person - a choice of one main, fruit platter a selection of juice and tea/coffee.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at umuya villas. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and organised our laundry as well as recommendations for local trips. We highly recommend.

Amazing villa. We were in Rama with a private pool and it was worth it. Beds are so comfy. great Aircon. Outside bathroom with waterfall shower was bliss. Could do with a safe but the wardrobe has a lock on it. Tea/coffee in the room and kettle. Lovely breakfast with lots of choice. The staff were so friendly and helpful, got us a scooter and driver. Yes there are monkeys everywhere on the walk to town but just don't have any plastic bottles/bags on you/within sight. On way home in the dark there aren't any as they go to sleep, so actually felt safer at night. Overall a great stay and very impressed!

We stayed only one night in Ubud and we were wishing we had more time here. We lucked out staying at Umaya Ubud. The location was perfect. It was a little hard to find but a gem. Close to the monkey forest. Literally steps away. Close to shopping and restaurants. Monkeys on the nearby fences and road added to the uniqueness and charm. Small hotel with only 6 rooms. 4 rooms around one pool and I think maybe the other rooms were larger suites with private pool. Our room was amazing. Beautifully decorated. Comfy netted bed. And a beautiful oasis bathroom. Friendly staff. Breakfast was perfect. Sorry we didn't stay longer!

I happen to walk past and the friendly manager invited me to visit their villa. I was definitely impress that I can stay in a villa at such a low price (they are having promotion right now). It was the exact same price as the guesthouse that I was staying in. Hence, for the price I believe its value for money as it's located at the back of Monkey Forest and includes a swimming pool, beautifully decorated interiors, breakfast and even tea break.

I manage to grab something to eat at their restaurant and the food that that was serve at the restaurant was reasonably price (even cheaper than those outside) and pretty yummy. So overall, I believe this would be a good alternative for people finding an affordable villa to live in Ubud.

Writing this review as very pleased with my stay here and believes this villa deserves higher ranking in Ubud.

A small boutique hotel with only six villas, located at the end of a small path at the side of the Monkey Forest's entrance.

Stayed two nights, first at the one bed room house and one bed room villa the next. The villa was much bigger with private pool, otherwise same interior and both were excellent.

I was attracted to its natural, rustic design and loved especially the open air bathroom. All photos and reviews are accurate.

It was my husband's birthday so I requested a surprise. The manager and staff were very kind and prepared a complimentary big cake and beautiful flower petal decoration in the villa, which looked tedious work! They even offered to have all staff sing a birthday song! Aside of that, all the staff I met there genuinely wanted to make our stay pleasant and comfortable, so a big thank you to their efforts.

The villa was very clean and well maintained. As it's next to the monkey forest, we saw monkeys climbing on our roof tops.

The villa claimed to be operated by local people. We were offered complimentary 15 min foot massage, welcome drinks on arrival. Afternoon tea with Baliense cakes are served daily, but our tight schedule didnt permit us to try them!

The only cons for this place is it's location, which can be a plus for someone looking for an isolated, quiet hideaway. We had difficulties getting a driver in Ubud centre to send us back to hotel, because they had to drive around the monkey forest, a longer way which they charged us extra. On our second day we found out there is a short path along the side of the path of the hotel, which walks pass monkey forest (without paying the entrance fee) and takes you straight to Ubud centre in probably 15 mins - rmb to ask the manager on the route or check online. The path is narrow and we saw many locals/motorcyclists passing through there. We didn't want to take the route at night as it may be too dark and we heard the monkeys there are aggressive, but we did saw frequent traffic at night.

Also the breakfast portion could be a bit bigger, but nonetheless good.

We wanted to see everything in and around Ubud and did the 2:30am hiking tour (the manager kindly offered to pack us a big breakfast box). Wished we could spend more time in the villa, it was so peaceful and beautiful.

Am personally pleased with this hotel choice, amid all the lovely hotels available in Ubud. We had a pleasant stay, and of course, good value for money for all the services we received. A highly recommended place to stay in Ubud.

P.S. We had lunch in the Laka Leke restaurant next door and thought it was good.

We stayed here for four nights in a room with a separate pool. The room was clean but the bed very hard. Because of this we woke up several times a night. In the evening the noise was not ending before midnight because of 'musicians' in the temple in the monkey forest. Every morning the noise started at 6 a.m. because one of the major scooter short cuts went just along the hotel. Sleep was no longer possible.

The 'open' bathroom was a disappointment as well. Not well maintained, and you hear every sounds from your neighbors. The room also has no safe, which is standard today.

The people were very friendly like everywhere in Bali. The breakfast was good. Beyond basic information the hotel staff was of no help at all. The were not even able to organize a taxi transport.

We chose the hotel for its good recommendations and were very disappointed. We will certainly not come back to this hotel.

Stayed here for 4 nights, with myself and 3 of my friends.
It was great having our own private pool, and outside showers!

The staff are beyond amazing, so helpful, and literally go above and beyond to make your stay the most comfortable it can be.

Great location to the monkey sanctuary, and a short walk to restaurants and shopping. Also not to far from ubud markets either. (15minute walk)

100% recommend staying here, can't fault it at all!

We arrived in Ubud yesterday but were very disappointed with our accommodation we had booked. On the first night, we were lucky enough to come to Umaya for dinner.
The restaurant is a lovely setting and the prices are unbelievable (with no extra tax!). There is also a vast range of choices including kelepon for dessert - only 10 000!!!!!
We asked if there was any accommodation available and we were so excited that a 2 bedroom villa with private pool was! We had a tour and fell in love with it immediately!
Beautifully decorated in very unique styling using timber slats and branches, a large semi-outdoor living area adorned with staghorns (my green thumb husband advises, a ranges of ephiphytes in fact!!), 2 stunning semi-outdoor bathrooms with pebble showers and more vibrant greenery.
Well, we moved in ASAP! As I mentioned earlier, we were treated like royalty. Our outdoor living area was converted into a private restaurant just for our family and we had all our meals delivered!
This villa is brand new so please give them a go! It will make your stay in Ubud so wonderful.
PS: not to forget, the fantastic position, right near the Monkey Forest and 10 minutes walk into town!!
Thank you Umaya Ubud Villas - we love you!
