Alam Indah Ubud, the first of our Alam hotels opened in 1995 with 10 guest rooms-each individually appointed in their own style combining traditional Balinese architecture with modern ammenities. Set amidst lush gardens, Alam Indah is surrounded by idyllic views looking out to the sacred land of the Monkey Forest temple. The secluded setting of Alam Indah will feel like a retreat, yet the centre of Ubud is easily accessible- just a 10-minute walk through the forest brings you to Monkey Forest Road. A complimentary shuttle car to and from the centre of Ubud is also available on request. We offer an in-house menu for lunch and dinner prepared at our Alam Indah kitchen or the extended menu selection from Cafe Wayan or Lake Leke may be ordered in advance. Over the years, many repeat guests have returned to stay with us feeling Alam Indah to be their special home base while in Bali.

We're definitely falling in love with this place by the strong and great points below:

1. Absolutely lovely boutique Balinese resort! The room we've got an upgrade to stay is Gardania room which is very spacious, very clean and can see pool view and green nature views from the bedroom, bathroom and also terraces. We had very good sleeping, the bed, pillows are very good. The sofa beds downstairs are very comfy.Flowers are everywhere in the room and also around the resort, so beautiful garden. The views are all green, making us so refreshing and relaxed.

2. Very warm welcomed, prompt service and excellent staff! We had Gusti, Dewa to coordinate with us on email and kindly offered us an upgrade. We had Wayan who took care us in the resort as well. Komang is our driver who took us around Ubud, Andre who helped advised us for traveling and sharing very good conversation. There are more reception ladies that i couldn't remember the names, sorry, but they are all very friendly lovely, polite and professional staff who took care us the best during our stay.

3. Nature, jungle & monkeys are all around! Do not worried for monkeys, they are around but there are staff keep watching them not to mess with you. You can see them jumping from one tree to another, you can see the way they live, and can give some fruits to them if you want. It's really wonderful experience living around the green jungle and see animals like birds singing, insects, monkeys etc..it's like a magic waking up in the morning with nature calling!

We don't really want to leave this place. Even it's covid-19 period, if you want to come for a short stay, or even work from home (in this jungle boutique hotel),
you will not disappointed at all! It's peaceful, relaxed, and you can enjoy nature around or walk few minutes to great cafe/resto outside too.

This place is a truly hidden gem in the jungle!
Please do not hesitate to book here for wonderful stay and jungle experience.

Thank you so much everyone there for very warm welcomed and took care the best of us. We will definitely come back again!

Best regards,

Narisa & Frederic

Enjoyed my stay in the Lotus room. Gusti and staff are very good hosts and I would happily return for another visit. The shuttle service was very convenient. The complimentary afternoon tea was a welcome diversion otherwise I could have relaxed without moving too far at all. Thankyou to the staff for making it such a pleasant visit.
There are monkeys that will come onto the property but that was part of the bali contrast, staff do move them away so they didnt cause any issues. Their isnt a spa on sight but the associated Wangi spa is close by.

In my opinion one of the coziest and authentic hotels in Ubud. Located behind Monkey Forest it is an easy walk to Monkeys Forest Road, Jalan Hanuman or Ubud Palace ( or you just make use of the complimentary shuttle). The bungalows in balinese style are nestled in a beautiful terraced garden that is lovingly maintained. Sound of nature like birds, frogs etc are included 😉. Keep in mind that there are steps throughout the hotel due to the terrace style. A little pool invites for a swim and to just relax, just be aware that the Monkeys like to come for a visit. In the afterNoon tea/coffee and a piece of cake is complimentary.
The rooms go from simple to luxurious.
Breakfast is a la carte with fresh juice, fruit, joghurt, muesli, all styles of egg, fresh bread, croissants, pancakes, jaffles and asian choices like fried rice.
Staff is very friendly and kind and will try everything to make you enjoy your stay.

What can I say ?
Well to start....this place is an oasis of quiet and tranquility. The gardens are so beautiful and the monkeys playing around make this even more special.
The rooms are traditional Balinese and comfortable. The views are endless.
Short walk from town but there is a driver who will take you too
I want to say special thanks to Rosa who checked us in late at night with a huge smile.
Beautiful Cynthia at breakfast who is a loving caring person. Last but not least Gusti who is very professional and helpful and helped us with a driver early in the morning. I want to say thanks for the garden guy ( don't know his name ) who followed us with scooter to bring us breakfast pack that we forgot to take on the last morning. I'm sitting at the port going to Gili islands as I write this but I miss Alam Indah. Such a special place. I will come back and tell my South African friends to stay at your place. You are in the right business because you cater to all customers' needs.
Will miss you all

This is the BEST accomodation you can find that is very close to Ubud (the resort organizes a shuttle if needed for free), yet tranquil and in harmony with nature. It is so breathtakingly beautiful and relaxing and in case you don't know where to go, choose this resort. You will not be disappointed! Amazing food, amazing people, amazing nature (monkeys included ;) ). To the great staff: thank you!

Alam Indah is a beautiful oasis that is heaven to escape to after the business of Ubud. Our room was large and comfortable with a really big balcony overlooking the Monkey Forest. The view and sounds each morning and evening when being here were so peaceful. Our boys had a similar room next door up their own set of stairs. The breakfast was abundant and delicious, the pool was enjoyed day and night and the staff were so helpful and lovely. The free transfers in to town were a massive added bonus. Alam Indah was also only a 10 min walk to the Yoga Barn. I really really hope to be back to stay here for a lot longer to just enjoy their beautiful gardens and go to the Yoga Barn every day.

Extremely good service provided by the wonderful staff of Alan Indah. They were very hospitable and warm from the day we checked in. Had attention to detail and gave a personalised touch to their service. The most important thing to observe was that every staff served us with a smile. It was as if you are staying amidst nature at its best. The structure of the rooms and entire resort was based on Balinese tyle. Devaa, Gusti and the entire team looked after us in every manner.

All of our friends stay here too and it’s such a special place. Rooms perched in the forest with monkeys, birds and butterflies. The most amazing food. The best staff. A pool of peace and tranquility, so needed after a day in frenetic Ubud. Just the best. Thank you and see you soon!

My home away from home —but so much more beautiful. With wonderful staff who after several visits feel like friends. Bali has undergone so many changes in the last twenty years and staying in a small Balinese owned and run hotel makes all the difference in your experience.

We were originally booked at Alam Shanti. Knowing how popular it gets, I booked a room 6 months in advance (February for August). A week before leaving I reminded them via email I was coming and got back a message that the driver would pick us up at the airport. So you can imagine my surprise when, as the driver was walking us to the car, he tells us our room has been double booked and we have to stay one night at Alam Indah and one at Alam Jiwa. I did not want to stay at Indah because I was traveling with my elderly mother who would have trouble with all the stairs do they said they would take us round he back. I did not realize this meant we also got a room in the back. It was called Pumpkin Room and truly the name was appropriate. Room smelled, was not very clean and no view to speak of. It was disappointing as I had previously had a great experience at Indah. The room we got on the next day at Jiwa was great. Interesting we were able to move in at 10 am, which means the previous occupant left really early or it was vacant the night before. If the latter why did they not just let us stay there 2 nights to avoid the inconvenience of having to move? The people at the Alam hotels are lovely but this was a very disappointing experience to have our reservation treated so cavalierly. If I had been told of the mistake before I left for Bali I could have made alternative arrangements instead of being held hostage at the last minute.

i just saw this it's not a huge property;,more intimate, the rooms large and generous. Because of how the Sacred Monkey Forest provides shelter and feels as thought it surrounds the property it feels like it's bigger than it is. I don't know the number of rooms off hand but the quality of the grounds is breathtaking. Based on my experience there what was the most lovely was how beautiful the grounds, the gorgeous rooms, and the sensitive staff. If you're in the market for an exquisite experience that allows you to relax without the noise of town and traffic then this might just be your spot.
