I stayed at this amazing hotel for 7 nights in Feb/March 2020. I was lucky to have gone, just before Covid-19 really kicked in. Upon arrival at the airport, there is a form you complete, to record your temperature and there was a team ready to check temperatures if required.

What I particularly liked about this hotel is how secluded it is from the main street once you have entered, as the ubud street is always busy.

You’ll 100% receive great customer service without a doubt from the staff. The whole team are very respectful and helpful. They will even help you with recommendations. The restaurant is decent with a number of things to choose from. On certain days, the restaurant will be doing a specific buffet I.e. Chinese, Thai, BBQ.

This hotel is very close to Ubud Market, and Monkey Forest; you can literally walk there especially if the weather is great.

The hotel also offer various activities to take part in, which they can organise for you. I have posted a picture of the activities.

As for transportation, you either hire a driver or hire a motorbike which is pretty cheap. I used a driver for the majority of my trip except for when I wanted to explore Ubud, since I was already staying in the area. My driver only charged $50 dollars a day which was very reasonable. If you would like his contact details, I’m happy to pass it along. If you’re planning on visiting other parts of Bali such as Uluwatu, Tanjung Benoa, then I’d strongly suggest you get a driver as these places are very far from Ubud.

There were a number of activities I took part in (not with the hotel) where I will be posting a separate review on.

I travelled to this country solo, and I’m pleased I did. Overall it is very safe. I’ll definitely be back.

Plataran, hotel with great ambience with the active paddy field experience( we got to see the farmers cutting the paddy), very clean rooms, good breakfast, exceptional hospitality second to none( particularly from the morning breakfast staff (if I can remember the name right Arika) and the chefs, who took great care of our vegan diet and offered to prepare us the vegan dishes in addition to preparing us herbal teas for our cold/fever). Never had this hospitality anywhere else before even when we have spent $1000/night. They even left a cake for my husband's birthday (although we had not informed them), was a nice gesture.
I would have rated 5 stars, if there was no caged birds(pigeons) ! This is a real problem in Indonesia per se, to cage free wild birds. Being an animal lover, it was distressing to see them like that.
I hope the management takes note of this and frees the birds. Your hotel is great as it is and the tourist don't need to see the cage birds for anything.

My husband and I stayed at the Plataran Ubud for a week and felt really looked after. Staff is super nice, atmosphere is familiar and the hotel grounds and pools are very beautiful. The staff organise daily activities that guests can join for free, afternoon tea, little treats in the room every day and live music every night, which makes it a nice place to gather also for guests of nearby hotels. The entrance is on a main street in Ubud, whilst rooms are immersed in the peace and quiet of the gardens. The view from the breakfast restaurant is another highlight. We also enjoyed the free yoga class and a massage at the spa, both definitely worth it.
Only piece of constructive feedback is that the superior rooms could do with a little refurbish, especially at ground floor, to make sure wildlife doesn’t get in. We had ants and geckos in room and bathroom and only informed staff when ants were in our bed, and they gave us an upgrade straight away.
For our next time in Ubud we’ll definitely stay at the Plataran again.
Thanks for the lovely week!
Manuela & Simon

Great staff can remove any disappointment (if you have one). From the moment I arrived I was welcomed and assisted with a very helpful team. Smooth valet parking, checking in, activities arrangement and others. My only dissapointment was the view from my room and breakfast venue. The rice field was just harvested thus it was not green but brown. Neighbour was constructing spa with noise (we can see everything). Due to kitchen maintenance the beautiful breakfast venue as shown in the website (facing the greenery) was moved to the front area which is very close to the main road.

Just finished our staycation in this Resort, its as refreshing as it should be.

+ location, it's close to almost everywhere in Ubud, by walking distances
+ staffs are attentive and caring, we were welcome by Fisson, the one who's incharge and immediately looked after. All the other staffs as as friendly as well and yes, they are always smiling and helpful
+ sufficient greenery to represent Ubud itself, love the ambience in this resort and it's geeen things here and there

- it might not be a minus for us, but let me tell you this: don't let the front restaurant fool you on how the hotels look like, it's a big hotel and not as small and packed as you thought it would be. The hotel facade did not represents how big the hotel is so enjoy the inside ladies and gentlemen

We surely be right back for another holiday someday. Goor luck Plataran!

The service by all staff at this place was excellent. In particular the receptionists.were very helpful but literally all staff greeted me, made me feel very welcome and was always checking to see that I was happy with everything. I felt very good to be there. And being a solo traveller, this was important to me.

The hotel.is really nice. Great bar at the front that provides entertainment every night.

Yoga on the banyan deck was nice, being surrounded by nature.

The food and drinks was very good overall (but not spectacular!). Good selection at breakfast and for lunch and dinner menus. Staff at restaurants were so attentive.

It's location is ideal for yoga barn (5 min walk).

It's slightly away from the city centre(20-30 min walk) but it's not expensive to go by taxi to the main area (5 min). For me it was an excellent location.

The rooms could do with some updating just to make it feel more fresh and modern and.the gym is very basic. But these are not major issues for me.

I hope to return to Ubud again, and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
(Next time with my family!) I thought it was good value and the service is one of the best I've experienced.

At first arrival, you are greeted by the staff with safety protocol in-place ensuring you that this resort adhere to the safety of the their guests!

Entering the lobby area, you haven't really know what the resorts have to offer but once they take you to the room and on the way showing the area and facilities of the resorts than you really feel that there's so much to offer than just a regular building without any spacious surrounding and garden.

The resorts have magnificent view of the rice field and even own a few acre of land on it's own nestling around the resort with it's own cow farm.

From the room, your view is directly facing the pool and the rice field so waking up in the morning with your favourite cup of tea or coffee is sublime.

The location itself is stunning as you are right in the heart of Ubud so traveling around the are by foot is really convenient.

They provide a lot of different activities or encounters program for adults and kids so taking your family on holiday will be ideal in this resorts.

Would highly recommend for couples, honeymoon and family!

Over the past decade, Ubud has become almost unbearably crowded, noisy and clogged with traffic. It almost feels like Kuta now. You would never know it while staying at the Plataran, however. The hotel's streetfront is unassuming, but once you enter the premises, beauty, calm and peace take over. The villas and suites, beautifully built and outfitted, bring back Old Bali. The restaurant is excellent, and the staff could not be more helpful and accommodating. I have stayed at a number of hotels and guesthouses in Ubud over the years, including a few very pricey ones, and the Plataran is the best.

We stayed for three days in Plataran Ubud and 5 days in Plataran Canggu, both were similar with Plataran Ubud with the more central location. Plataran is Indonesian owned with an eco-friendly approach that can be seen in everything they're doing, that was a welcome change.

The premises are very nice indeed, clean, and well cared due to a small army of staff keeping it all tidy.
When I came down with Bali belly, staff recommended ginger tea which they delivered to our room, free of charge, with real ginger, not just a cheap tea bag. The staff was always very observant and supportive with whatever small things we needed to make the holiday even better. Their English was usually good, if there were language barriers they quickly got someone else to help. We didn't feel that language was a problem at all.
We walked to central Ubud which is just a stone throw away to get to shops, temples, museums, etc. Drivers the hotel organised were always professional.

Plataran Canggu was very similar, but we were upgraded to a villa with pool free of charge which was awesome. The Canggu premises were even bigger and just a bit nicer, and we went back to the Spa for a second massage (the first one was free), as it was so good.
It's a bit further from shops so we didn't venture out much but took taxis to locations further away. The staff was as friendly and very accommodating when we said that we're vegan (same in Ubud), not a given in all hotels.

We're highly likely to go back!

Fantastic hotel!!! All of the employees were genuinely nice, professional, and helpful. For example our wallet got sent out with the laundry, (opps) they promptly returned it within minutes. When we had to depart early, a hotel employee offered to have a breakfast box made for us, with items we ordered, which was delivered before our early departure. Everyone went above and beyond to handle our issues and accommodate our needs. The hotel was exceptionally clean and had beautiful details everywhere you look. The location is perfect: the hotel is tucked back off of the street so it feels like and oasis in the middle of the city, complete with rice paddies and 2 pools. They breakfast is better than any hotel breakfast I’ve experienced. The room was sparkling clean and the pools are beautiful!
