Lovely accommodation in two-bed or four-bed bungalows. Beautiful garden. Directly when you arrive you are struck by the beautiful garden and further down the hill you see the pool and in the background the sea. The staff is incredibly nice and personal. It is quiet and comfortable. The rooms have everything you need. It is perfect to stay here and then take small excursions. The beach is absolutely wonderful but is best suited for small dips or lying by the beach. The waves can be a little wild. This was our absolute best place in Bali. We moved around a bit but we chose to come back here again one to the last days. Paradise

Tranquil place with swimming pool and very helpful staff. It has small nice beach, but difficult to swim as waves are dangerous. Beach was very clean compared to neighbouring larger beach. We had everything we needed for 1 night.
Breakfast was a bit overpriced, but kids liked granola bowl.

Milos home has 9 lovely cottages and a restaurant with The most beautiful view over The sea. There is also a nice little pool. The menu in the restaurant is simple, but The food is tasty. The staff is very helpful and welcoming.

Very misleading advert. I have travelled all over the world and Milo’s home has to be the worst place i have ever visited with the most awful, rude staff I have ever come across in my life. Paid for two nights, the place is in the middle of nowhere meaning you will need transport if you want to get anywhere as roads are not safe to walk on. I turned up to a smelly room with dirty bed sheets, amenities were not as advertised, told that private beach could not be used and one of the pools featured in their advert was not actually theirs.
In addition to this, their card machine was ‘broken’ so I was informed upon arrival, after an incredibly long journey, that I would have to walk 30 minutes, on very busy, narrow, winding roads to get to the nearest atm to get them cash. I explained this would not be possible as the roads seemed too dangerous to walk in and they were incredibly rude and started laughing at me. I enquired if bank transfer would be possible and was told that no, only credit card and cash was possible. I decided I would cut my stay short because of the awful room and their horrible, unprofessional attitude, but their card machine was still broken and I was told to come back later. After this I decided enough was enough, I packed my bags and finally a very stern woman came out to ask me to pay (had already tried twice but was still treated like a criminal). However this time, miraculously, bank transfer was an option! It was an option all along but they just wanted the cash!
In addition to this, after having spent a fortune on taxis, I tried to request a partial refund from booking.com to cover some of the cost. They replied to booking.com saying that I left because i wanted to use the other hotels pool. This is an outright lie. I told them about the issues with the room, with the misleading advertising, yet they chose to lie. Absolutely disgraceful.
Awful place, with awful staff. Thieving beggars who know exactly what they’re doing! Luckily I booked into a gorgeous hotel, with lovely staff who saved the end of my stay. I may have spent £150 to not stay there but it was the best £150 I’ve ever spent.

Stayed here for three nights in the middle of August and had booked the accommodation months and months ago. Was a little bit apprehensive just before we arrived after reading a few negative reviews on trip advisor BUT have to say they are unfounded and need to be put into context. Our experience was nothing like the few negative reviews we have read on trip advisor. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend this place to likeminded travellers in a heart beat.

Firstly the accommodation is fantastic. We loved our bungalow which overlooked the pool and the ocean - the simplicity of it and of a very high standard. Contrary to a few reviews on them not being soundproofed we actually loved the openness of the accommodation and the semi-outdoor shower. We heard no noise from the restaurant at all and found all other guests who stayed there to be very respectful of each other and of their environment. There are only 8 or 9 bungalows which makes it a very intimate and select place to stay. The pool was great and food very tasty at the restaurant. Yes you can find cheaper accommodation but you get what you pay for and I found the pricing to be right for the overall experience.

Audrey gave us a warm welcome and was on hand to answer any queries we had and to organise our taxi when we left - which wasn't overpriced. We had no problem getting taxis either during our stay. We were lucky enough to stay during their celebration of a new temple and were invited with the other guests to their celebration dinner which we loved.

To describe this place as a base camp experience is unfair in our opinion. If you are an open-minded, independent traveller and go on holiday to experience new things, get involved in local experiences, roll with the waves, accept differences in culture and attitude then you'll like it here.

If you are looking for a 5 star soul less, synthetic, wait on you hand and foot type experience then don't go to Milos home. If on the other hand you want somewhere authentic, simple and inspiring then then get your ticket booked!

The private beach we didn't use simply because we preferred to get out and about and we hired a motorbike for the time we were there. We easily got to Jimbaran on the bike and Audrey showed us the route to take to avoid the main roads. We went to balangan beach - walked there - about 10 minutes and that didn't bother us one bit. The beach if I recall is better in the morning when the tide is in and great for surfing. If you are looking for a calm wave free beach then this isn't the place to stay. We also drove to Bingin beach which was cool with lots of surf and very pretty.

There was no construction going on while we were there. We saw no cables or building materials and and the place was spotless.

In the middle of nowhere…. Well that depends what you go to Bali for. If you want loads of restaurants, night life and shops then Milos Home is not for you. Personally, we hated the main areas around Denapasar and Kuta because there was so much traffic and noise and it was a welcome relief to get to Milo's Home which was a little oasis in the middle of that.

With regards to rubbish on beaches: We stayed in 4 different places whilst on Bali and didn't find Balangan to be dirty at all when compared to many other beaches.

Whilst Bali is a wonderful island with very friendly people and great things to see it has a huge rubbish problem EVERYWHERE which deeply saddened me and something the government really needs to do something about and more importantly something us as tourists need to take responsibility for.

We loved our time at Milo's!! Thank you Audrey - we'll be back!

Location:
This place is in the middle of nowhere, forget about going out for dinner. If you want to get back to Jimbaran be prepared to pay for overpriced transport touts on site. Also, going back from Jimbaran is difficult as many taxi's will refuse to go there. Balangan beach is much further than advertised 10 minutes' walk and honestly it was a massive disappointment. If you like a beach littered with bottles and other garbage then be their guest.

There is a private beach located down from the huts, this one is even more disappointing. It is a beautiful little beach but absolutely littered with garbage. No one from the "resort" seems to be bothered to go and clean it up.

Due to the construction happening on site, there is plenty of cables, bricks and other rubbish all over the place so you can easily trip over something and get hurt. Also, be prepared for a constant construction noise.

The Huts:
First of all we've been given the smallest hut they had for the price of "standard". Room was tiny with not more than 40cms of space between the really small bed and the side walls.

Huts are very badly built with virtually no noise isolation, since we've been given one close to the reception/sitting area we've heard every single phone call or night-time conversation. Also, owners thought it was a good idea to allow construction handymen’s to setup their shop next to our hut and wake people up at 7 to a nice drilling/cutting and other construction noise.

Summary:
Overpriced camping experience not even close to advertised, avoid at all cost

Had a the ocean view bungalow booked months in advance but the day we showed our host just told us that she gave our room to other folks because they would stay longer aka she would make more money.

So then we left.

To our surprise couple hours later received an insulting email from the host blaming us for leaving. Quite laughable.

Because every night here is a night at the zoo. The thatch of the bungalow walls blocks out very little noise, so if you are in a bungalow near reception or the restaurant and pool then you will hear every conversation happening outside (and presumably they can hear you too). Current as of July 2014 there is a construction site next door, so you will most likely wake up every day to the sound of drills. Also, for reasons inexplicable, the resort next door keeps two geese on the property, which did not stop bleating for the entirety of our stay.

Milo's Home provides only one complimentary bottle of water on arrival, everything else has to be purchased. No soap or shampoo provided. The lack of AC is not remedied at all by the ceiling fan, and I pity anyone who makes the mistake of staying during summer.

One positive element included the stunning view, however be aware that the photos displayed on their website were taken prior to the commencement of construction happening next door, and the surrounding area looks very different in reality.

The location of Milo's Home makes it perfect for a potential getaway vacation, however the noise and lack of services really spoil the experience. The two of us are students who are used to backpacking, but for what we paid for our stay at Milo's Home we expected a lot more.

My girlfriend and I booked a room for two nights at Milo's Home and specifically requested a cottage with an ocean view and deck. We were told this would be no problem and that the charge would be 50 euros per night. When we arrived late at night we were taken to a cottage at the back of the property with no ocean view and no deck. The following morning we raised this issue and were told if we wanted a cottage with an ocean view and deck it would be 80 euros per night. When we pointed out that not only was this not what we'd agreed, but it was also 20 euros more expensive that advertised on the website - we were told by the French gentlemen who owns the place that it didn't matter, he was the boss and the price was 80 euros.

It was a beautiful spot, but we only had 2 nights away to relax, the last the we wanted to be doing was negotiating with an owner who had broken an agreement. We won't be back.

Other notes - the cottage we stayed in the first night had very ineffective fan away from the bed, this made it unbearably hot and tough to sleep, and we were awoken by construction work next door. The second night was much better.
